  • Have you ever heard a war story? Well, what you see or hear is often different from the real deal. In this inspiring Josh Talk, Captain Gangaram Chaudhary shares his own war story that goes beyond what movies depict. It's a tale of survival and struggle, recounting his experience of being a prisoner of war in Pakistan for almost a year.
Captain Gangaram, hailing from Rajasthan, faced tough times with famines and his father's struggles. After completing class 10th, he, along with friends, decided to visit the Indian Navy recruitment center in their village. They got enrolled, and Captain Gangaram underwent training at Vishakapatnam, Jamnagar, and INS Tir at Bombay harbor. He specialized in Radio Radar Electrical Training, completing it with bravery and motivation from his superiors. Despite being an efficient officer, his life took a drastic turn after a Pakistan attack.
The morning after the attack, Captain Gangaram found himself taken hostage by Pakistani soldiers, a situation that lasted for the next 11 months. How he applied the life lessons his father taught him - to keep learning, have patience, and maintain a never-give-up attitude - became crucial for his survival in this war. The details of what happened next and how he overcame this challenging period will be unveiled in this Josh Talk.

Very inspiring words. It looked like my own story being narrated by Captain. Airman in IAF trainee in 1979, Radar operator at Barnala, BA from Punjab University, SSB at Allahabad. joining OTA Madras, SSC in Army. postings at Jammu, ADA Troop Commander Siachen Glacier, Ferozepore, Joining as Security officer in SBI after comming out. What a coincidence. I would have retired as Chief Security Officer if continued in SBI. I joined State Service after that and retired as Joint Commissioner of GST recently. Very Nostalgic.

If you are a Pakistani. Friend please can you trace anyone of our missing 54 from1971war. If you can trace atleast one we can retrieve others from his knowledge.
There are instances of these soldiers are seen and talked with other Indian prisoners and some prisoners are seen in pakistani ally countries like Oman prisons.
When your general refused to take back pakistani soldiers denying their identity as your soldiers our indian army buried them with Islamic rituals and gave honour to them besides our army personnel where they are buried.
But what about the lives of missing 54 soldiers ? What about their plight and their families? Since 50 years families are hoping for their loved ones will come home one day or the other. Some( father, mother and wife) waited and died also. Their children who are just months old or 1 year old or in mother's womb when they left to war are still in hope that they get a chance to see their father in real.
      Isn't it a plight?
You and me don't know each other but we certainly don't want to kill each other. It's only Nehru- jinnah egoistic quarrel that led to our seperation.
Otherwise 100 years back we are brothers and sisters and we fought against the wicked wolf Britishers and that cunning wolf demarcated and divided us and we silently accepted it and we are fighting among ourselves. Is it not a high level of foolishness?
Why we became a puppets in the hands of greedy politicians?
Sorry friend if I have taken more. But these words are from my heart. May god bless you and atleast our generation should teach next generation that we are not enemies but divided by selfish politicians and cunning western wolves.
      Jai Bharat, Jai Pakistan ❤
      Everyone should prosper ❤

Here I am in the US watching this sweet man, take so much pride in his military career. My dad was a proud Indian Army officer, and loved to tell stories of his war days. When you fight a war you are killing people you don't even know, so it has to be justified. The Indian Military has a history of defending India victoriously with pride, and I truly believe it's because Indian soldiers go to war knowing they are on the side of right. UNfortunately, there are countries where their young soldiers are recruited, drafted &/or sent to fight a war that is not justified. Psychologically, those soldiers feel guilty about killing when they represent the side of "wrong". Proud to be Indian - Jai Hind!!

Im sorry for whatever has happened and it is because of shias, i as a hindu like islam to some extent. I agree shias were one of the building blocks of india. Ill do my best to be friendly with shias, love them and be with them and protect them if necessary. Im sorry for you all again. But please dont get into the sunni mentality because of any external pressure bhai. Thats my only request. Best human being? World has already seen Indian Army's humanity in Kashmir. More than 90,000 innocent Kashmiri's have been killed by the Indian Army till now. Muslims in Palestine, Kashmir, China are facing difficulties too. It's not about Indian soldier only. Pakistani soldier has also faced the same situation in Indian jail. When the Pakistan Army returned abhi nandan as a peace of gesture to India. In return India gave us our dead Army soldier. I can somewhere agree on the rest of the points you mentioned above, but the "best human being" point is way too different from the fact.

If we see it logically, you are the ones who are brainwashed by the Godi Media and different corrupt Indian Journalists/Analysts/Media Persons. Secondly, I never watch Pakistani Media Channels. There are some specific Pakistani and International media channels which provide genuine news/information of Pakistan and India. Go and gain some real information from a genuine source rather than giving illogical "Brainwashed" statements. Questions has been raised recently in U.S.A regarding India's false claims of surgical strikes in Pak and destroying Pakistani F-16. India just claims and never provide solid evidence. I have many more things to say not only about India but Pakistan also.
