    Unbelievably maneuverable Helicopter !
    A Helicopter capable of performing 720 degrees of roll and a cobra maneuver backwards!
    Awesome!

    It’s a shame the army Wildcat is only really used for recon and utility now😔
    I’d love to see the Wildcat with some rockets😅. The Wildcat is so versatile and agile and I think it deserves more action, rather than just the dirty work it has to put up with at the moment

      I guess the Apache replaced it in that role but I’d say it’s possible to add AGM systems to the wildcat if needed?

      The AH 64 the army has now can do a better job taking out tanks and other but the army should have kept the Lynx for troop transport and small cargo. They have put a lot onto the Wildcat asking it to do more. The Lynx is one of the best things the UK has ever made.

      @@RJM1011 The Wildcat is still able to transport troops and cargo when needed, but I just don’t think it sees as much front line action as it could do. I think it’s a very capable helicopter, but it’s just being restrained.

      @@RJM1011 did the army ditch the lynx/wildcat? I was in the navy so only saw it used by the marines and obviously us. Don’t even think the airforce had it, now I think about it...

    Was Lynx ever used as RAF Rescue in yellow

    • @BritishHelicoptersHistory
      @BritishHelicoptersHistory  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe the Lynx was ever used as RAF rescue because in the UK the Lynx Helicopter was operated by the Army Air Corps and Navy but not the RAF. The RAF and the Navy operated the Sea King for Search and Rescue among other operations.

    Did the lynx ever see actual combat? It is a great idea imo to have a stealth like aerial tank hunter.

      Yes, they saw combat in the Falklands War and the Gulf War. In both conflicts they used Sea Skua missiles to attack marine targets.
