- Novation X-Station is a great synth, and I wanted to show how cool it could sound.
All 24 patches were made by me.
I am not best keyboard player therefore sorry :)

+rockcandy34 I am constantly creating some new patches, but not every time they come up great for sharing them. After a while maybe I will release next 20-30 patch pack :)
Excellent! I was looking for some new synthesizer actually, looking for some specific sounds, only to find out that the x-station that I have laying around )but hardly use anymore) is capable of exactly the sounds I'm looking for! So I've happily downloaded your sounds and I'm all set :-) BTW, I like some of your musical ideas as well :-)

As promised, my patches for you (and anybody else out here who would like them). There are actually 33 because some of them are the same patch with a tweak. Most of them use the modwheel like an expression pedal modulating distortion, amp, cutoff...etc. so if they seem flat at first, give that a bump. An unsprung mod wheel works best. Enjoy!

why i just found it like synth) very cheap price, but wow it sounds much interesting that it's priced. Plus battery power and USB
It's Novation, they are making good stuff everytime. But you need to read manual for their devices to get 100% from their gear.
@@DmitryPuffin приветствую Дмитрий! Так понимаю говорите на русском) сейчас нашел подобный синт у нас в Украине за 4000грн, примерно 170$ , дешевле чем моя миди клава CME UF) вопросик такой - долго ли от батареек синт работает? Интересно подключится ли он к колонке?)
@@NatLifeSounds Это очень хорошая цена. Я не знаю насчёт времени работы от батареек, я его только от USB запускаю. Но он работает от компьютера, значит потребляет не более 500мА, значит хватить может хороший промежуток времени. Я позже попробую его от powerbank'a запитать, должен работать :)
Это на самом деле не просто синт, это синтезатор, миди-клавиатура и звуковая карта (!). У него есть два входа, и два выхода, можно даже микрофон фантомный подключить. Если не использовать синт, то это ещё и стерео-эффект процессор. В случае работы синта, один канал процессора уходит под синт, второй остаётся под входящий сигнал.
Плюс ко всему, если есть какие-то проблемы, можно написать в службу поддержки Novation, и получить советы, и вполне даже детали (если что-то не работает).

Is It possible to have a Rhodes sound with this ?
There is a couple of oscillator forms that could sound like e-piano, but I don't remember exactly, need to check one more time. Also, there might be a preset for Rhodes.

Perhaps you can help me, I bought one on e bay recently, but I have a problem, if I press the buttons to turn on arp, effects and other things I get a message that says "No Control" and these things don't work, I guess something has been switched over to computer control, any idea how I could get this to work normally. I can't find reference in the online manual.

Yes, of course! It also has possibility to make custom mapping templates, like on Remote SL controller series (which basically started from this thing, afaik) And, I would say more - it also works as a soundcard with 2 mic pre-amps and FX. You don't need soundcard to record synth, because it transfers audio via USB.

@@DmitryPuffin Very nice video! Can I use these two Midi outputs to use two synth-racks (as a Behringer clone and a Roland Boutique) and use the sliders to control their volumes as in a mixer, and continue using their respective parameters individually without depending on Novation knobs?
It has two individual P10 outputs but not L/R for the mixer or stereo recorder?
@@heliotron8042 I don't quite understand your setup, but suggest that you are talking about keyboard zones, where you can assign different parts of keyboard to different MIDI channels. I would suggest to run all gear in to separate mixer channels, since usually volume control is not available in MIDI.

See that there by the 12:36 minute it demonstrates the possibility to use both the sounds of the Master and control two synths, and one more to synchronize as step-sequencer of Casio. I want to know if its better to buy a Casio XW to control all this using just a MidiTruHub or if X-Station is a better option.

I would suggest you to go through synth manual. It's not long, but there is a lot of surprisingly awesome features described. Saving is very simple.
There is Write button, which does this function. There are just different stages, when system asks you to select patch number & name.
Also, you can upload patches via Sysex, but it's little bit more advanced.
@@DmitryPuffin doesn't the DX7 also use sysex files for cartridges??
Boi Mesa sysex is a sort of packaged piece of Midi data, that stores all kinds of information. Even synth firmware might be packaged in Sysex.
