I agree, but DJ has not been able to elevate the people around him either. Great QBs can. If NYG wasn't paying him $40 million a year, they could try to keep building around DJ. But unfortunately they don't have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to cap space lol.
I don't disagree. There are two main differences though imo: JJ can develop, which Jones has not. JJ will also be on a rookie contract. And if there's no shot of getting Williams/Maye/Daniels, I'd rather have a chance at developing a young guy with good physical tools on a cheap contract.
@@secondread I don’t disagree with your analysis. I trust daboll and shoenne enough to trust their judgement. I prefer that we draft one of the top 3 WRs because the top 3 qbs will be gone by 6. Then trade back into the first round to get one of the last 3 first round QBs, maybe in the 20s to get a qb on the 5th year option if he pans out. It’s impossible to tell how good a guy can be when you have 0 talent at WR and o-line positions which we had only Andrew thomas, and slayton (who’s average). We lost saquon and that’s just not a formula for success for a guy like JJ.
Yeah, if they draft JJ I would expect him to sit for the year (or most of it at least). If they don't take JJ, I'm perfectly happy with any of the top 3 WRs or somebody like Taliese Fuaga/Joe Alt
What's disappointing is the team around DJ..

You are replacing Daniel Jones with another QB that comps to Daniel Jones. Really don’t wanna run it back with another DJ clone.
