I can hardly wait to hear it on my monitors, 'cause my studio headphones aren't doing the low end justice. What I hear sounds great, though, and I'm happy that he got some writing credit; he adds a missing element like Cliff did, but differently.
I listened to Room of Mirrors 100 times since Friday. My conclusion is this is the best Speed/Thrash Metal song Metallica's done since 1988. Then I realized this song reminds me of Battery! This is old school Thrash Metal done in 2023...
You Must Burn! is probably my second favorite of the album, easily their heaviest song in decades. And (and it's a silly nitpick) is one song that I wish the studio version was also recorded in Eb tuning. Sounds much heavier in that tuning. Again, silly nitpick, since they'll play it live in that tuning anyways haha
Vocal performance from James is the best on this album ever since the Black album... Hardwired also had great vocals, but on this album it is really top notch...
This song has Kirk's solo with such proper use of wah pedal... Very good and fitting in the song considering Kirk was always criticised for wah overuse....
I find Kirk overuses the pedal on a few of the songs on this album but not here. The solo really fits the song and sounds awesome! My favorite song on the album.
For musicians they appreciate 72 seasons, for new reactors who compare 72 seasons with previous albums they’re missing a lot. again its about the depth of perspective
I feel like James uses his clean / melodic vocals throughout the album this time around. Because they don't have a slow song with clean guitars type song on this album.
First video of yours that I watch. Won't be the last! You have a new subscriber. As a LONG time Metallica fan, every time I listen to the album. I enjoy it even MORE. And I seem to have a new favorite song, after every listen. LOL. Which to me signifies, a GREAT album. Enjoyed your reaction and keep up the good work! 🤘🤘🤘
I've listened to the whole album like it's one of the classic albums! It really it's a mixture of everything 🔥 🔥 I hope Metallica make a cartoon or something I would watch it!
I agree with dude, ROB is a monster in this albums mix, and HAMMET is on fire. I’m done bitching about Hammet free styling… he plays hard on this album! I LOVE EVERY NOTE
I don't much care for the pentatonic paint-by-numbers solos, and I'd like to hear Lars go back to quirky accents and use his toms and ride cymbal more, but I like the album quite a bit as a whole. Some of these songs are straight-up bangers that would have blown me away in the 80's. I'm not sure what changed, but I like James' tone on this album more than on Hardwired even though they're similar. I usually prefer really high gain, but he gets a lot of punch and and clarity this way. I love the snare sound. Has a good snap in the transient, just enough bottom end, a solid *crack!*, and perfect reverb. Rob's contribution to the writing process shines through a bit; he's been under-utilized, and I hope he gets more spotlight time in the future. I noticed a couple places where Cliff would have played different notes, but the approach of kinda sidestepping the guitar to make room for the bass was remarkably similar. James' voice is aging like fine wine. I don't see many singers re-invent their voices but James is doing a great job of it.
I’ve been playing this album all the way through since it came out. The last time I did that was Load. Definitely better than Hardwired or Death Magnetic.
99% of video reviews are praising this album, and I love it. But steer clear of comment sections that aren't on these review videos. You will be bombarded by Metallica hate the likes of which I've never seen in my 20+ years being a fan.
This is one of the better solos due to the harmonized part but I felt most of them were very similar to each other, not one solo stands out to me unless it has harmonies which is a shame cos I know he can do better. We know he can cos he has his own EP out in the last year which is great. I think it's lazy and unimaginative.
I really wants to know if the harmonized part of the solo was written by James or Kirk... I don't think Kirk has the musicality to write something like that.
Everyone has their opinion. You can like their first 4, middle 4, and last 4. Someone preferring this as their fave album doesn't mean that they don't know metallica or whatever. I am a HUGE fan if their first 4 (Ride the Lightning being my personal fave) but I am not gonna knock anyone that says that this is their fave album because I am not one of those asshole Metallica GATEKEEPER idiots that seem to think k that o ly their opi ions and thoughts matter. Basically, grow up!!
Metallica finally pushed the bass way up in the mix. Rob sounds great. Too bad the rest of the band didnt show up. Paper Thin guitars...uninspired solos...awful vocal phrasing and lyrics...clearly looped monkey simple drum tracks. This once great band are now phoning it in. But in their defense, they have no choice. That corporate beast must be fed
What beast? They own all their songs and even started and wholely own their curre t LA le (Blackened Records). You got your opinion and that is cool, just do t be like other ELITIST idiots and crap on people for not agreeing with you. No,you have not done that so peop@ but I've seen so many start with how you did and then turn I to those asshats that still live in the past and think that they are somehow the GATEKEEPERS for what is and is not good Metallica. I just hope you do not go down that road my friend!!
Yeah but how many original band members are there in Overkill? I mean yeah get someone half your age that are basically studio musicians and you’ll have better technical players and musicianship. Same can go for Megadeth. Not that the other bands are bad but c’mon.
@@jeremysharp2060 2 members from 81 and rest is 2000 and one at 2016 .and most of them are older and same age of Metallica just the drummer is younger makes no difference for me but we agree to disagree

This is my favorite track from this album. the lasts minutes plus double kick gave me goosebumps
A wonderful song, James's voice in the chorus is just amazing.
the harmonizing gets me all the time . and James screaming FREEEEEEEE. fuck man, so damn good.
4:54 Finally a beautiful melody that reminds me of classic Metallica!
6:54 is so bad ass especially with the signature Hetfield "yeeayah!" to drive it all home. FUCK yeah!
That’s exactly why I love the final part of the song so much.
Can’t stop listening to it since Friday
This is my favorite so far. I can’t even remember how many times I’ve heard it so far, but it’s a lot! Love the whole album. It’s fucking amazing!!
Rob’s bass tone is unreal!
I love Cliff but Robert definitely is a great bass player. I saw him play with Ozzy, Suicidal Tendencies and Metallica. He's great live.
I can hardly wait to hear it on my monitors, 'cause my studio headphones aren't doing the low end justice. What I hear sounds great, though, and I'm happy that he got some writing credit; he adds a missing element like Cliff did, but differently.
It's unreal 5
Since day one, literally. Trips me out he’s been in Metallica for 20 years.
YOOOO, Rob is let loose, he has committed to this band and he has delivered. He killed it all over this album, just listen closely.
"Shadows Follow" is my personal favorite so far. Killer groove!!
I'd have to agree. I've been playing that one the most. It's a black album style monster riffs awesome guitar solo. The vocals are some
Inamorata I think has taken the lead for me, that one is so good, but I think I love every song on this album!
Got to agree both songs are great but I do love this whole album and that's saying because the last album I like from them was the black album.
James drives it home with that yeah yeah at the end, just fantastic
ICONIC!!! 🤘🏽
This album is incredible!
Yellow album classic
This song. It's so good. Love it when they don't let up.
Room of Mirrors is def my favorite. That Iron Maiden type harmony is chef’s kiss
I listened to Room of Mirrors 100 times since Friday. My conclusion is this is the best Speed/Thrash Metal song Metallica's done since 1988. Then I realized this song reminds me of Battery! This is old school Thrash Metal done in 2023...
All Nightmare Long from Death Magnetic and Spit Out the Bone from Hardwired are more thrashy than this one.
The harmony/solo was just amazing. I can't explain it.
My favorite song has to be You Must Burn! I love how much it sounds like Sad But True.

The harmonies and then the double kicks to send out the song was amazing.
Top 3 songs on the album!!!

I find Kirk overuses the pedal on a few of the songs on this album but not here. The solo really fits the song and sounds awesome! My favorite song on the album.
Though not a big fan of most of these solos, I gotta admit that Kirk grooves on this album.
It's one of the solos that he seems to really follow the song
Crown of Barbed Wire is another song that also works well with Kirk's wah solo. Has a very similar feel to his King Nothing solo.
4:54 man that melody gives me goosebumps
Finally, a well worth review by a happy man. This song is Insane.
For musicians they appreciate 72 seasons, for new reactors who compare 72 seasons with previous albums they’re missing a lot. again its about the depth of perspective

72 seasons it’s a tribute album from Metallica to Metallica
The solos are unreal rn
Can't wait to hear this song live
Have to give it up to Lars live and in the studio. Even though he started practicing regularly 40 years into the band, it’s showing.
Best song on the record no doubt
I wish James and Kirk would do more dueling back to back solos. This marks James 5th or 6th solo in Metallica.
He has loads more solos than that!
After listening the full album four times, I can say this is now my favorite track
Best song on the album.
This was my first listen to this track. This was dope as hell.
AMAZING ALBUM!!! KILLER VIDEO!!! LOVE YOUR ENTHUSIASM BROTHER!!!🎼💯😊🍻🤘🥁🎸👊🤜🤛
These last 2 tracks on the album are my favorites 😍

A TOTAL BANGER!!!🤘A MASTERPIECE ALBUM!! FOR GET THE HATERS!!!🤘🙏💕
This song is soooo bad ass
Shadows Follow, Too Far Gone? and Room of Mirrors are the best on the album.
Easily my favorite song on this album
Starting to dig the solo in Chasing Light. The riff behind the solo is like whoa. Familiar but can pin it.
Agreed. The chorus in that song kicks my ass so hard too.
The solo in Chasing Light is straight up Kill em All vibe. Its one of the two solos on this album I actually like
I feel the vibe of Iron Maiden-ish.
I love this song so much! Goosebumps allover
TEMAZO!!!
METALOCALYPSE: METALLICA!!!!
