They sounded great. I love it that they've broke the color barrier and proved that not only black people praise with a lil R&B gospel flavor. I also love that the choir directorr came up out his jacket to do it. EXCELLENT JOB!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (Nov. 21, Christ the King Sunday), we sang this as the Hymn of the Day. It is #439 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. So ends the church year.
For those who have been redeemed by the precious Blood of the Lamb, for those whose sins have been washed away, they can sing with no fear: We are going to see the King!" Alleluia, thank you Jesus for your Blood, thank you Jesus for what You did, so I can be free! Thank you!
after church today and after having coffee and cake - we just sang praises! and this one song that we sang was giving us a glimpse of that we soon will be rejoicing together with ALL our brothers and sisters in Heaven, singing praises forever and ever. Hallelujah!! love this song :) God bless y'all!!
The other choirs had interesting choreography and were very energetic. This choir has a very NICE BLENDED SOUND and a director who has obviously studied music. The chords make sinse and I do not get the impression that one section is competing with another section. They did very well.
I remember when i was in kindergarten, they played this as the closing song and everyone started clapping and i Don’t even know why i did this but i started BAWLING! And it was like an all school mass and the teachers had to keep me coolio, but i was BAWLING and to this day i feel super bad about that.
@mywordandway Could you tell me if this is a published arrangement, and, if so, who wrote it? Would love to be able to do this. Super performance- this is 'gettin' it'!
It was written by the late, great Andrae Crouch. He was a force in Gospel Music for many years. He knew Michael Jackson and many other sacred & secular artists. Google Andrae Crouch and the Disciples sometime and be blessed! 😊
The choir sounds great, but I have to admit I went back after almost a year of not being there. It feels like the church isn't a church anymore. I don't feel the love for God there anymore. It's all about the glamour and glitz. what happened????
I just figured it out. It isn't race--it's denomination. We sing that in our church, but it just isn't the same with a bunch of Lutherans. The Baptists, here... they get it.
No. Black folks get it. This was written by a Black Pentecostal, Grammy winning musical genius, the late Andrae Crouch. He pastored in Pacoima, CA, knew Michael Jackson and many other well- known sacred & secular artists. I was blessed to hear him live here in Mpls. What a talent! But now he's gone to see the King, Jesus, the One that he wrote so many songs about. R.I.P., Brother Andrae, and thank you for all the great music! 😊✝️
@@mitcharett2586 We have to walk Humbly before our GOD!, be a Grammy Winner, is Not So GREAT , GOD is Great, and the Talent he had , was because of the LORD, So you Need to say the LORD be Glorified, and gave him the gift, it is not about him the man, we do not get any GLORY it all goes to GOD, so stop bragging about the color of your skin, it is not about you it is about the Good LORD ALWAYS Praise the LORD, Pride comes before a fall!
It's not the color of our skin or culture that gives us our talents. It what we're born to do .They sound Beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am a LCMS Lutheran. We sang this Hymn today at Communion. I love this hymn it is so solemn. I get a great feeling when I hear it and sing it.
Wir singen das Lied im Gospelchor.
First time hearing this was at Dr. Carl's funeral on "All my Children
I am a Southern Baptist from North, LA. but now a Southern Baptist in Quinlan Texas for almost 3 years!
They sounded great. I love it that they've broke the color barrier and proved that not only black people praise with a lil R&B gospel flavor. I also love that the choir directorr came up out his jacket to do it. EXCELLENT JOB!
Wow! Faith-lifting, toe-tapping,pure joy. A couple of senior citizens listening and bouncing to the music. Thank you!

Reviewed the comments. Let's be colorblind, non-critical and Praise our KING together! That's how I'm going to roll... YAS!

Some diversity would add some richness to the depth and richness of this choir.
Kenneth Parks I think it's perfect as is!
does anybody know the name of the song that was played as soon as the video started by donnie mcclurkin?
