    I picked up a set of Yokomo high traction wheels and DRA tires for my car, which I'm trying to set up for asphalt. They don't come with tape, and won't stay put without it. Without an LHS nearby, I tried random double sided foam tape with no luck.
    Before I got all that stuff, I did a quick search, and the RDS used +6mm offset. So that's what wheels I got, and they fit just like the Redcat wheels.

      I am not a fan of those. They rarely are of good enough quality to keep a smooth spinning wheel - which is very important with rc drifting.

    Just bought the RedCat RDS and waiting for arrival but went ahead and bought the white DS rims as shown in the video and some yokomo carpet tires. On the rims do they need the mounting tape because with the screws that go in them the mounting tape won’t be flush. Also do you have them on the inner most setting (like together the most with no gap) Please help, thank you

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there!
      Yes, I used the mounting tape. There was just enough room for it to sit on the wheel barrel, but not in the center.
      I honestly don't remember which offset I used, and unfortunately don't have the car in front of me right now.

    For this price I'm curious why someone would go with a Redcat over somthing like a MST? Not trying to hate or anything but the price is basically the same.. I'd argue the yoko and mst have wayyyy better looking body's and probably (at least for now) have more aftermarket support

    • @DJ.1001
      @DJ.1001 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This chassis comes with carbon upper and lower decks, aluminum shocks, and adjustable turnbuckles for all suspension links.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are certainly pros and cons between the two.
      The good news - as of right now - both are a solid choice.

    • @frozenshade666
      @frozenshade666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yokomo RTR shock are crap friction shock, MST are O.K. plastic, Redcat are metal.
      Redcat has carbon fiber out of the box, steering look pretty decent out of the box, battery mount is great, battery connector is good, electronic look good to(as it can be for an RTR).
      From what I have seen, they played verry well on the design, they didn't try to reinvent anything, used safe approach from other manufacturer, this probably lower cost on engineering on their part and make a safe platform since all components have been proved already.
      From what I have seen similar on other chassis. I'm not clamming any of the bellow invented anything nor that I'm calling Redcat a copy of anything, they are all designed for the same purpose they will end up looking similar....
      Rear knuckle, ReveD
      Front knuckle with ofset front/rear position king pin, MST
      Battery tray, Usukani
      Servo arm, Usukani
      Adjustable Suspension mount with block, Yokomo(Included in the box for Redcat, don't think they are on others)
      Transmission look like Yokomo, haven't seen much tough
      General chassis design is similar to others.
      Will I buy it, not at all. I'm not interested. But I honestly think this is a solid contender to yokomo and MST RTR and could maybe force them to stop using friction shock and TAMIYA plug!

    Do you have a recommendation for a cheap tire to use on asphalt/unpolished concrete? New to drift tires/wheels, liking the way they've designed them

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello there!
      I suggest trying some different MST tires. I have had rather good luck with a few of their tires that are designated more towards the harder/concrete/asphalt side. Honestly, there is so much variation in surfaces, that you will just need to try.
      Be aware - that type of surface will always eat through tires. Good thing is you will only really need to replace the rears, so a set of tires still lasts awhile.

    • @phoenixrising4573
      @phoenixrising4573 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoadsideRC Yeah they're definitely getting munched in a hurry! I'm glad the wheels are reusable, helps immensely since a set of 4 tires is 12$ or so. I was afraid after that first run I was going to be spending an awful lot more...

    Can you fit a those RDS magnet system on to a standard 257mm body?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so - as the body-side of the magnet system is made into the light buckets.
      However, the car includes standard body mounts also in the bag, so you can mount any body you want.
