I’m currently using the 2nd gen 88s pro 4u and looking forward to buy the 3rd gen 88s pro. I’ve been wanting a little bit more power with my smashes, and thinking of getting the 3U weight. Is it a good choice or should I just get the 4U instead?

Hi there, I played the new 88D pro for 3 sessions and I had the same problem like you with the 2nd 88D. It was for doubles a bit too slow. I can tell you the new 3th Gen in wayyy better in this regards. Its is faster and has the same or maybe more power than before. But it is not anymore that super easy to generate this power compared to the 2nd gen. Overall I find the 3rd Gen is a more complete racket. Before I used the 100zz for doubles and the 88D pro for singles. Now I am going to use for both disciplines the new 3rd gen because it brings everything you ask for. The only downside for me is the solid feel in the drives. This is with the new one not anymore that solid. But all other aspects increased. :)

I bought the thruster F enhanced edition and liked it both in the front and back but my stringer damaged it and I cannot get another one. I want to get another similar racquet from yonex. 1) Yes, we do ship internationally. However, some counties we are not able to ship through due to business restriction. May I know which country you are in?
      2) The shipping fee will be auto generate during the check-out page, based on the order weight and the dimension.
Please note that, only the shipping fee will be charges and not the tax. The taxes/duties amount to be borne by the buyer if applicable.
      3) It takes approximately 7-10 working days to complete the whole process, also depending on the courier transit and custom clearance.

I have both of these rackets right now. To be honest, I did not like the Thruster F Enhanced that much because it was too much flex for me even it is considered as a "stiff" racket. On the other hand the 100zz and 2nd Gen of the 88D was a bit too stiff. For me is the new 88D pro the best of all worlds. It is stiffer than the TKFE but not crazy as the 100zz or older 88D pro. At the same time has a crazy power when you hit the ball at the sweet spot. And it has enough flex for playing controlled. Really creat allround-racket for attacking players.

      @@devy1440 you're welcome!
Fyi, i've tried to dry swing DZS at store, it was light for me even though it was 3U.
The DZS felt really even-balance with only a touch head-weight, well i migh be mistaken since i've never tried DZS on court.
      I've tried 100zz, 88DPGen 2 and 88DPro Gen 3. (Already sold 100zz and 88DPGen3)
100zz 4U too, it felt heavier than the 88DPGen2 4U, although the head-weight is not heavier than the 88DPGen2.
While the 88DPGen3 is lightest and softer.
You use DZS, that's why i suggested you to for for 100zz or 88DPGen2.
Imo, 100zz feels different than DZS, but who knows 😂
If you don't really like head-heavy racket, maybe you can try 77Pro for an all-round racket. I tried my friend's 77Pro, feels great, an all-round racket but packed with punch for rear-court player.
Also, 77Pro shaft is not medium, it's definitely stiff, "maybe" the Flex-Fuse or whatever the technology Yonex called, makes the frame flex a bit for softer feeling.
Fyi, Lee Yong Dae (an all-round player) used 88DPGen2 before 77Pro launched.
My recommendation are 88DProGen2 or 77Pro, but you can always go for other rackets.
In the end, i'd suggest you try those rackets in store first, because they are expensive!
In fact, i bought those rackets second-handed 😂
Lucky for me, the 88DPGen2 still looks new, but at friendly price
Hope i can help you with my experience, good luck with your new racket!

      @@devy1440 I've tried them,
88DP Gen3 feels head heavier than the Arc11 Pro,
but Arc11Pro is definitely stiffer than the 88DP Gen3.
      Assuming all in 4U,
      88DPGen3 = All-round and rear-court
Arc11Pro = All-round and Mid to front-court (rear-court if you have big power like Zheng SiWei 😂)
      In my personal opinion:
Both of them are all-round racket, but 88DPGen3 provides better power for overhead shot such as clear, backhand-clear, rear-smash, dropshot, etc
While Arc11Pro is great at drives, counter-attack, defense, stick-smash, controlled-smash, etc
For control such as netting and placing, i'll give the edge for Arc11Pro.
For power, 88DPGen3 wins, definitely punchier and really satisfying when smashing.
The thing is Arc11Pro has this hold-time technology, when you hit the shuttle, it felt the shuttle sit a bit longer on the string, while 88DPGen3 doesn't have that.
So it depends on what you like
In the end, you need to try it first before buying.
      I've tried 100zz, 99pro, 88spro (2nd and 3rd gen), 88d pro (2nd and 3rd gen), 77pro, arcsaber11pro and arcsaber7pro, nanoflare1000z
But i stick with 88DPro Gen2, because it clicks with me.
You are currently using DZS right, as far as i know DZS is on the light side for 3U (i've swung DZS at store once, and it's really nice, but the head was a bit too light for me), but i don't know wether it's Extra Stiff or not, because i've never tried it on court.
My suggestion is, probably you should try 88DPro Gen3 first, if it's not your liking, then you can go try Arcsaber11Pro 3U version (since DZS only has 2U and 3U).
Bring your racket to store, and swing it together for better feel

    • @vsmashsports
      @vsmashsports  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Both are also good racquet with different characters.
Astrox 88D pro is a head heavy racquet with stiff shaft, which able to give powerful smash.
While Nanoflare 1000Z is a head light with extra stiff shaft and compact frame, which able to give powerful smash too with using lesser energy because it's lighter in weight compared to Astrox 88D Pro.

Hey don’t get it wrong buddy. 😜 I mentioned consumer feedback to the racquet. But not my opinion on that. Furthermore the 88s pro 2nd gen 68 holes design was to expand the sweet spot which you can see on their advertise marketing. Somehow the 3rd gen they mentioned expand larger sweet spot which mean they expand again right? Haha. So maybe need graph to justify how much increase from the 1st to 2nd and to 3rd gen. 😂😂
