Why would a British citizen present medals to American soldiers ? This is a total insult to the American soldiers. Even though Haz was on the army for 10 years , he was protected from any real danger , even at the cost of endangering his fellow soldiers.

It’s NOT a military medal. It wasn’t sponsored by the US military in any way. It is a prize awarded by a private publication that caters to our military. He still was a very poor choice-and it pisses me off-however, it’s nothing to do with our actual military people/command. None.

I find it hard to believe that there are no Americans that are being considered worthy of presenting awards to Americans. Whoever invited, asked or paid for this has made a mockery of those who served the military. They deserve better.

This was not a competition, nor was it international. It was an "In House" courtesy award, and as such, Harry, a non-entity and not in the military, NOR did he serve with DISTINCTION in the United States military in any capacity. He had no reason or right to be there. It is a disgrace. Actions like this attract the attention of all those who served, were injured, sacrificed, lost comrades, suffer, and are forgotten. Most have PTSD. Some are homeless. Desperate. This toxic combination, coupled with REAL military training and experience, could easily spur someone on to hunt HairBall down like a rat and take care of his agonizing existence once and for all.

As a distant relative of the Spencer family, you can guess my thoughts on Camilla back in the day. However, I have come to adore her and am so thankful for the spectacular job she has been doing all these years. I am so touched by her service and her flawless devotion to King and country. Never once a victim - what a strong and amazing Queen she is!

3 of the 4 are “Jubilee” medals that are basically mementos of each occasion, given to many. He got them because his Granny was Queen. The 4th is for his presence in a theatre of war, Afghanistan, which would be given to all the others who were there-he didn’t do anything special.

The statue of the late Queen is a disaster! It in no way reflects her beauty, strength, courage, humor, or devotion to duty. The dogs were quite irrelevant. What I did find myself missing was the late Prince Phillip standing a half-step behind and to her side where he lovingly been most of her life.
I agree with you River I think the Royal Family have managed well thanks to Camilla, Anne, Edward, Sophie and not forgetting a few of the more elder and wider members of the family who have also undertaken a few duties here and there too. May be not as well reported on or in the number of times, nevertheless they have supported and done their bit while Charles and Catherine have had their respective surgeries, been receiving their treatments and recuperating. I think they have all done a sterling job.

It is always the fault of the Royal Family, the Press, Racial prejudice, Prince Phillips inconsiderate choice of dying and stealing the grifter's thunder, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's passing, Meghan had to stay home to bake a birthday cake, or picking up milkshakes for the kids, or one of the kids is ill. The new statue of Queen Elizabeth II shows that the genuine art of making statues is gone, and no longer exists in the world. The statue of Diana a couple of years ago proved it as well.

I fully understand your point about the statue, but I must admit that the addition of the doggies softened it all for me. The obvious touch of humour and warmth made it quite an endearing tribute.
I think the face of the statue doesn’t really do QEII justice. She was much more beautiful. The theme was spot on.

The truth is that the problem with modern statues is that the artists are not up to it. Most of the people depicted in ancient statues are a complete mystery. It's the art and the beauty that the statue conveys that keeps us looking.
Aw what a lovely photo of them. So happy to hear Kings Charles is getting back to the swing of things.
Bronze is not a good material for Women. HArd & cold. Moreover, since they are sculpted in soft clay first - there is NO Excuse for getting the features wrong.
Marble is a better material to convey women, but much harder to achieve while chipping away the stone.
