Started this January. I’ve been watching you and tactical bassin and have learned so much. I caught my 10th bass which was 3lbs. (My PB is a 5lb) Can't thank you enough for the info
Bruh im jealous ive been bass fishing a ton since i was probably 11 and have only caught 2 5lb bass lol and that took me until i was 18 i caught quite a few 4lb before that but it aint the same
Really appreciate this video, because very few deal with the type of water that many of us fish, especially in the north, where most of the ponds are fairly nondescript and featureless, and kind of bowl shaped. This is helpful info!
Thanks for the video on pond fishing. Im in S Carolina in the middle of April and a red rat l trap and green pumpkin worms are working right now on the edges of ponds.
Great video. I like the two lure approach. I try to bring a moving lure (lipless or squarebill) followed by a Texas rig or a jerkbait followed up by a jig. This video is on point for the main lake / pond I fish. It’s small creek that had two dams put in. Max depth 6ft.
Love the pond videos! In your opinion, when I'm walking the bank of a pond and not getting bites, should I stay in one spot for a while and change baits a few times, or should I keep the same bait, but walk around? Thanks!
What I like to do is pick a few areas I want to fish and go fish them all thoroughly with a moving bait. If I fish 2+ of those spots and don't catch anything with that bait then I'll switch to a different moving bait until I cover all the water I wanted to fish. If Im still not catching then I'll slow down and basically do the same system with finesse baits but really picking apart those particular spots. Hope this helps
What's crazy is I was going out today for some pre spawn fishing on a small pond I go to and I wanted to get more info and you hit on just about all those points so thank you so much love your channel bro.
Tyler, I'm wanting to throw some scrounger heads, but I don't know when to throw it. It seems similar to a stealth jackhammer in particular. Any thoughts on choosing the right one for the given conditions?
Sup. In our club pond it's weird, it's big oval and we can only access about 1/4 of pond from bank. The back half is about 2-4ft deep and know from members who used to kayak there it's all bedding areas. The spot we can access is deepest and I too use a drop shot and jerkbait trough April in RI. But there are some sand barges we can access which are 3ft deep and drop off and bass bed on those. Trying to talk friend into putting pontoon boat there. We had many 8-10+lb bass cought near that back half in kayaks. Great video. Makes a lot of sense, relates to where we cought our PB's. Ty tc
Pond fishing in Massachusetts and RI can produce some nice fish ! The nastier the pond the better the fish ! Season is off to a great start in our area
@@Oldbasshole very true. I unfortunately won't be able to fish until end of May unless get ok from doctors. My friends are catching now too. The club pond is where I got my PB 6lbs 13oz. Same day my friend got his PB 4lbs 8oz. Hope we can break it this year. Mine will be harder to break. Glad you are catching them. Tight lines bro👍
Thank you for all the amazing information you keep sharing. This channel has had great influence in all of my fishing. In this video at 6:17, you show a catch with a rig that I am not familiar with. Would you please explain which rig this is? It looks like it involves a paddletail swimbait with a treble hook. Thank you again.
Personally, I like to use chatterbaits if I can get away with it or swimbaits rigged weedless. You can even get bladed hooks. I like to cover water with those baits but if I'm forced to slow down I like a very light Carolina rig or weightless Texas rigged plastic.
I fished yesterday in NJ and saw quite a few bare circles. My lakes have pickerel. It can't be that the bass have spawned and left the nest here in NJ already?! That water can't be 50 degrees! Is it possible these circles are pickerel spawning sites? Thanks.
I would love to see guys show the fish on either a tape for length or a scale showing the weight ! According to my research and experience , there is no way a 20" bass weighs 7#'s ! It may weigh 4-5#'s
Hey guys , I need help. I can’t catch a damn thing here in Stafford Va . I’ve gone out every day. Every time of day. No luck. I’m losing hope. Let’s do three different lakes, high pressure, and help a brother become a better angler. Please !!
On most waters, the fish will spawn first on the northwest area first. As that is there the temperature rises first. It all has to do with water temperature. Not the entire rim of a pond. Eventually, yes, but never at the start of the spawn.
I know I might get crap for saying this but I feel like the bed fishing shouldn't be allowed. It's too easy and just kinda harassment and not cause I'm sensitive but because there are 100 fisherman right after me catching that same fish over and over again. I love fishing but I think spawn season or bed season we should just give them a break. Maybe I'm just a softy but I also fish year round and believe it would do a lot of good for the fisheries. Love the videos man!!
This is genuinely the most informative video I’ve ever seen on youtube
I caught a bass in the middle of you explaining how to use use a jerk bait while I was using jerk bait. Thank you.
Caught 4 in an hour in Southern Ohio today….50 degree, 10-15mph winds….small pond, good times!
This is the video I’ve been looking for! Thank you for breaking this down in depth!!
Great break down Tyler I fish alot of ponds this will be very Helpful! Thanks

Awesome insight with simplicity.

Thank you, great info!!! 90% of my fishing time is at small ponds near home.
Love the cold weather content an the pond content
Small ponds are where I learned to fish. Great video!!!
Ponds fishing for big bass is my favorite.

Great video Tyler, much needed
Some of the best fishing I have done landed big bass, blue gill, and crappies or specks were in small to medium lakes
Great video with tips that make sense. My neighborhood pond is 12ft tops in depth. I'm going to try these methods.
Can’t wait to get fishing..!

@@brandoknorr it does help...thank you for responding

@@brandoknorr thats exactly what i do
Thats a nice pond.
Great insights Ty, super helpful tips!

Great video!
Can you make a video on what weather conditions are the best to throw certain lures ?
great video, just subscribed!!
U lucky sob I would have loved to have grown up on a pond like that, beautiful
Yes I was spoiled

No b.s. 8-10 lbers north of the mason Dixon line?? That ups my hopes here in Wisconsin to boat a biggun. Lol

Hey Ty when the time is right do you think we can get a video on the Neko rig?

That is a line through soft swimbait. Idk the brand but it looks like an Osprey
Idk what that add was at the beginning but I’m getting zman chatterbaits at Walmart for 5.84 not 15 bucks lol
What do you recommend for ponds/lakes with thick submerged grass and slime bottom?

I caught a fat bass , 25" and it was only 9 1/2 # . Figures to 1# per inch after 16" .
Are you always fishing lake Newton?
How long does the spawn generally last?
Man that's a killer looking pond you have there, just curious cause at least I think you're from Ohio, you ever fish acton lake?
Caught my biggest bass in a pond . 12lbs plus
1st? But I live your vids bro! Caught 6 smallest yesterday with a finesse swimbait. And a googan scout jr.
