Freddie looked amazing. Apparently during shooting the girl was slightly injured and Freddie took her to hospital wearing that costume. Caused quite the sensation I would imagine!!
Freddie dancing (!) has GOT to include "Back Chat" with Queen. He & John Deacon were a team in their love for the pulse of club vibe and this song captures that. The admiration & love from John watching Freddie is forever framed in that Queen video - look for it.
Lmt...you are so right...In effect Freddie was John’s older brother..have a look at “it’s a Kind of Magic” at Wembley..the smile John has for Freddie as he passes behind him 🌟...and when Freddie is singing “Now I’m Here , he refers to John’s brilliant bass playing by shouting to him, “Go Johnny Go”...a line from the Chuck Berry song “Johnny B. Goode”..and not forgetting the medley at the end of the Wembley concert, John smiling from ear to ear as he watches Freddie..absolutely wonderful...Hi John, I hope you’re keeping well🌺
I really enjoyed this video reaction! Freddie never explained the meaning behind the song. Another great songs are “Made In Heaven” and “Living On My Own,” that the video was filmed at Freddie’s 39th birthday party in 1985 in Munich, where Freddie was living while he recorded Mr. Bad Guy. I agree with the Queen’s fans to react to Freddie duetted with opera soprano singer Montserat Caballé.
This is one of my favorite Freddie songs, it's so catchy, so sweet, romantic, it warms the soul and melts the heart And Freddie is looking damn sexy with the bullet vest and even with the "home clothes" while chasing the girl ❤️🔥🤩😎 Check out all the other Freddie Mercury solo songs, and you will be amazed beyond belief
Freddie wasn't married, the only woman he loved was Mary Austin, unsure what the video has too do with the song,he just liked having fun,he had a solo career so did Dr Brian May and Roger Taylor
Freddie's first solo album (with this song on it) was released under the title Mr Bad Guy in 1985. and the videos were completed around that time. Freddie loved the dance music and clubbing life and he wanted to make some songs about his own emotions and feelings so he went to Munich and did it. It took a long time, because he had to work alone on the music, lyrics, recording, etc., but the album was not a great succes. The Queen fans hated the fact, that he released something without the Queen. Pls, check out another amazing video Living On My Own (official remastered) which one (after a remix) became very popular in the 90s, but after Freddie's death only. This video was based on Freddie's grandious and extrem 39th birthday party in Munich in September 1985. You will love it!
This is such a beautiful song, thank you. Freddie never had a wife, though he considered Mary Austin as his common law wife and loved her to his death. For the last 15 or so years of his life, Freddie preferred men, not women and in the later years of his life married Jim Hutton who he remained married to until his death. Though it was not a legal marriage as same gender marriage was not recognized, they were a bonded couple until the very end. Even through all of that he always kept Mary very much in his life and left the majority of his estate to her telling her that if things had worked out the way he had wanted them to, she would have been his wife and all of it would have been hers anyway. Freddie was a very complex man and his life a very vibrant page in history.
She was much more than just kept in his life. Mary worked for Freddie from 1976 until present day. And continues to work for his estate and companies. She is 70 now. She was his secretary and found Garden Lodge for Freddie..and helped furnish it. She also took charge of the bills and is the one who paid Freddie's staff. She kept stock and infantry of all Freddie's purchases and art collection. She was with Freddie every where. Freddie genuinely loved Mary. Yes he was with Jim. But was always with Mary too. He said she was the only one he could trust with anything. And to this day, he has proven himself right. Mary has not written tell all books..revealing secrets. She never told anyone the where abouts of his ashes. Unlike some I could mention. She has done interviews but still never said anything about Freddie she shouldn't. She remains as loyal to him today as she ever did. And to continue running Freddie's estate and 3 companies still to this day tells you of her loyalty.
Freddy was Gay. BUT He was in love with a woman . They lived together 6 years in beginning of his career.. He wrote this songs and I will always love you for her and left everything to. He called her his common law wife.
Aww thank you so much for this reaction, I haven't seen this video in at least 30 years! So it was really awesome to see it again. Freddie had such beautiful heart that led him to have romantic relationships with both women and men in his life, but there's no denying just how much she resembles Mary, his one true love and most trusted friend.
Actually Freddie Mercury claimed he was bisexual and he was involved with both men and women but mostly men in his latter years. That’s why Brian May wrote the song Fat Bottomed Girls. lol Brian said Freddie liked both men and women with junk in the trunk. Freddie said his best friend and soul mate was Mary Austin. They were together before he became famous and stayed together for 6 years. He wrote the song Love of my Life about her. He also left her 1/2 his fortune and his home in England. Freddie asked Mary to put his remains in a secret location. She has kept that secret all her life. The other 1/2 of his fortune was left to his parents and sister. He did leave his partner Jim Hutton $500,000. Jim Hutton was devoted to Freddie. It’s sad they both died too young of AIDS. The best documentary to learn about the band Queen is Days of Our Lives as it interviews many of Freddie’s friends and band mates. But the bass player John Deacon retired after Freddie’s death. He said he couldn’t listen to their songs without Freddie singing them. I couldn’t agree more. ❤
Freddie had a husband no wife. He was Gay and died of AIDS in 1991. He had a playful personality but inwardly he was very lonely. I'm sad cause he deserved to be happy all the time. He would have been in his early 70's had he lived.
Thanks for your reaction bruh and yeah he has so many good songs, solo aswell 🔥 "The Great Pretender" is really amazing and he said that this song was perfect for his voice and "Time" is good aswell (there are 2 versions out there, a new one too) or maybe "Barcelona" or "The Golden Boy" (with choir and opera) 🔥
Freddie is quoted as saying that this song is one of only a handful that he wrote that he considers autobiographical in nature. So, it can. be assumed that the blonde he chases around the house is Mary and maybe since she dated Brian May before Freddie, we can assume the dark haired guy is Brian. Brian and Roger took this song for a cover---cutting the Mary character out completely!! Maybe Brian holds a grudge? Mary is one only person on earth who knows where Freddie is buried.
His first girlfriend and the love of his life was Mary Austin she was blonde but this is not her but she looks like her, He stayed friends with Mary all the way until he died but his husband was Jim Hutton
You should check out the Freddie Mercury tribute concert featuring Extreme, Metallica, The Who, Guns N Roses, Elton John, George Michael, Def Leppard. & a few other groups. The Extreme medley really stands out to me. I’ve seen this video like 25-30 times. ❤️🔥
You need to do some research on Mary Austin, It is an unbelievable love sory between she and Freddie that endured his sexual exploits with male partners. He considered her his common law wife and they were commited to each other for the duration of Freddy' life. HIs male partners could never replace her and he made that verrry clear to them. It is a love story for the ages. He left most of his wealth and his home to her. She was NEVER far from Freddy because he could not live without her.
Thats right. And Mary worked for Freddie from 1976 and still works for his estate and his companies today. At 70 years old, that is dedication. And Mary has never written a tell all about Freddie nor revealed secrets unlike some we could mention. That is love and respect.
Actually Honey, Freddie did his solo album in 1985, just before Live Aid. ...Maybe you're thinking of the Barcelona operatic album he did? That was in 1987-88. He was still doing well when he recorded that album too (even tho he was diagnosed in 1987)... He did have to tell Montserrat Caballe (the operatic soprano he made the album with), that he would not be able to perform the title track live with her in 1992 for the Olympics in Barcelona. When she asked him why, he told her that he would be gone by then. :(
My favorite video scenes are Freddie’s white outfit against the moving mirrors. And Freddie chasing Debbie Pollington (model)) thru the house only to stop long enough to play a few keys on the piano 🎹 😂 Debbie Ash (actress) was used in the remake scenes for the The Great Pretender video. I actually prefer Queen’s remix version on the 1995 Made In Heaven album. More guitar 🎸and drums 🥁
you've got the wrong version man, this version doesn't have the beginning part, the original video is much better, you have to see that one, I guarantee you'll like it a lot more , these over produced dance versions are no good, go check out the original , yeah man
LETS AIM FOR 500 LIKES EVERYBODY!!!
Freddie looked amazing. Apparently during shooting the girl was slightly injured and Freddie took her to hospital wearing that costume. Caused quite the sensation I would imagine!!
Love this video. Anything Freddie Mercury.❤
I love the special effect yer have put behind this tune, i does it such a HUGE respect and power.

The Great Pretender extended version is a great song you may recognize a couple of the ‘ladies’ 😂😂
Crazy Great!!!

Most people don't seem to notice her resemblance to Mary (or they don't mention it)... It's obvious, isn't it!!

Many now think he was Bi.. also he would be 75 were he still alive

Hey you🤗

Mary is also the keeper of his ashes and she has never revealed where they are or where they were scattered
These solos were done not long before Freddy died. R.I.P. Freddy!!!

Not sure if this is the place but a suggestion of ' The Hu' great group.
This song was remastered and played by the whole Queen band. When Queen did it a few more lyrics were added (along with of course a better band :) )
It should be a guy in the video opposite Freddie but the world wasn't ready back then.
I think he was talking about Mary Austin.
Check out Luciano Pavorati Nesum Dorma
Have you still not done Bohemian Rhapsody? Or did it just get pulled ??
Not a big fan of alot of Freddie's solo stuff yet its still respected for sure.
He's gay, that's actress he used a lot. But he was bi as well so..who knows!?
you've got the wrong version man, this version doesn't have the beginning part, the original video is much better, you have to see that one, I guarantee you'll like it a lot more , these over produced dance versions are no good, go check out the original , yeah man
