Hi all! I'm sorry this wasn't up sooner; the whole month of March was kind of chaotic for me because I've been working a lot and I've been focused on a special project for Easter, but I'm back on schedule now with a bittersweet edit for Gilmore Girls. If you're not familiar with the show, to sum it up, it's quite literally about the lives of Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, in the quaint town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Throughout the show, Rory has three main love interests: Dean Forester, Jess Mariano, and Logan Huntzberger. Everyone has a different opinion on who Rory should have ended up with. Some actually think the revival "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" was right to pair her with nobody and just have her be single. I think Rory could have been happy with any of these boys if the show's writing hadn't taken a nosedive. She seemed really happy with all three of them, and yet something always ruined her relationships. So frustrating but that's why we edit am I right? :')

Rory lost her virginity to a married man (Dean) and got knocked up by an engaged man (Logan). I'm Team Jess because him and Rory haven't even slept together yet which is kind of a crime seeing how he's the fan favorite and them finally getting back together after a short and shitty relationship in season 3 has been a long term story waiting to be paid off.
Facts! I hate that they wrote her to do those things cause it was so out of character. The original Rory would never make that kind of mistake, or if she did, she wouldn't have been dumb enough to do it more than once. She was at her best when she was with Jess 😔

Oh for sure, that's why I made the edit. I wanted to show how even though these relationships didn't end very well, a part of Rory still has love for all of them and sometimes she wishes she could have them back 🥺❤
I guess they all represent the different stages of her life. Dean was the first love and overall, a pretty good first boyfriend but sadly I don't think they were built to last. Jess had that typical "bad boy allure" which seems to be a thing all women fall for at some point, but he was also really smart and caring underneath it and I think was what she needed at the time and it represents that life isn't that squeaky clean. I think she seemed very innocent before Jess. Then finally Logan (who in my opinion should have been end game for her) I think he was the BIG love and they worked well together. Obviously if you've watched the show you know there are bits in between these relationships which can make you question her character development, but going just on the 3 guys like I said I think they were representative of different stages of her life.
Well said my friend! I hadn't thought of it like that before. I saw a post one time that analyzed this in a similar way: when Rory was with Dean, she was being the Rory her mom wanted her to be (sweet, studious, squeaky clean like you said) and when she was with Logan, she was being the Rory her grandparents wanted her to be (he was a parallel for Christopher since he came from a rich family and was on his way to being successful himself even though he had been a troublemaker in the past.
Seeing him with Rory could have made her grandparents feel fulfilled in the way they had wanted with Lorelai and Christopher). But when Rory was with Jess, she was being her authentic self. The show points out several times that Rory is basically Lorelai because she's so much like her, and Lorelai fell in love with Luke, Jess' uncle who he is also pretty similar to. From a writing standpoint, I think it would have made the most sense if Rory and Jess ended up together because they parallel Luke and Lorelai. Yet again, they're technically related now that Luke and Lorelai are married, so I'm actually team Logan!
@@HerondaleEdits It's so Interesting to think about and analyse. I really liked Gilmore girls and I've watched it several times minus the revival ones as they didn't have the same feel. I also feel there was a slight similarity between Tristan and Logan perhaps. Maybe Logan was similar when he was that age.
@@Yasemin_Sky i totally agree about the revival. I didn't like it either, but I decided to include clips from it in this edit to get the point across that no matter how much time passes, rory will always have love in her heart for these three boys. Logan was kind of like Tristan now that I think about it. Maybe that's why rory was drawn to him 👀

Honestly dean was a great guy to rory and had made some mistakes but at the end of the day he was a teenager who really liked rory and did everything for her. Care for her, want to see her, try to make things right. They should've ended together... but still jess 4 life.
Thank you! Dean gets too much hate, like I know he had a bit of a temper and he tended to get jealous, but he really did love rory and she's the one that messed up their relationship by not telling him how she felt about Jess. I do love Jess tho, he's a sarcastic king 😆

I dislike Dean, but it's true he was good to Rory in general except for once where I couldn't forgive him as he yelled at her and accused her of inviting Jess while she was helplessly trying to tell him she didn't

Logan is a clone of his daddy and is just a selfish game-player. I thought at the end of the tv show that he had changed, but like almost everything else in the revival, the writers ruined him and made him a player following in his daddy's footsteps. Jess is the one who actually grew up, but they left him hanging in the revival. Dean finally moved on and good for him b/c Rory was a selfish game-player in the revival too. If they do another revival, hopefully they will fix these mistakes.

Yes and no. Each of her boyfriends did do things that weren't right to rory, but she also brought a lot of it on herself by making bad decisions, especially in the later seasons. I blame the writers 😆
