Gripping the tank with your legs and using your core strength is how you keep the weight off your wrist. The Hayabusa is actually more comfortable than most of the 1000’s and 600 Supersport bikes. You’re the man Jerry.
And what if you have no core strength
@@mikehoskin1674 probably why the guy traded it in for a Harley. I ride my cruiser way more than my sport bike these days.
@@mikehoskin1674 Ride more, build it up. Riding upright, nakeds and cruisers actually will still bild core strength as you need to deal with more wind on your body.
@@mikehoskin1674 start doing sit ups!
I'm quite impressed that you chose to ride this, Jerry. Never let it be said that you don't do all you can for the fans! Kudos, sir.
Jerry's got a need...a need for speed!!!!!!!!!
That’s an amazing machine and I’m sure it’s thrilling to turn it loose. The tragic story of the young man reminds me of a saying pilots have, “There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are no old, bold pilots “ 🏍️
...my back and knees are aching just watching you ride that thing!!....these bikes can be fun...but I'M not built for these anymore!!....thanks for sharing...stay safe out there!😎🤙👍🤙👍🇨🇦
I wasn’t sure how someone who identifies as 6’2 would fit on this. Good on you for doing some pro bono work for WC Harley. 👍
Whaaattt!!!!. It is Jerry on a Hayabusa. I'm just amazed
beautiful bike. i'm with you. at 71 i cant ride in that position. nothing against the bike, cruisers or touring are the ones for me.
Whoa! I clicked on the Hayabusa notification without looking who it was from... thought I clicked the wrong video for a sec. Great surprise!
Now that is a different view of you Jerry!
Best bike ever built! I rode Gen 1 and Gen 2. Gen 3 got delayed and I walked into a HD dealership. $15k later (motor) my Ultra Limited is pumping 166hp and 170 ft tq. But at 100+mph death wobble with every frame brace and Ohlins front to rear. BUSA is the king!!!
What a beautiful, fast bike!
It's great to watch you ride a sport bike Jerry, I have a Harley Street Glide Special and a Kawasaki ZX6R and the Kawi is such a blast to ride.
25 for the hayabusa anniversary. In 2003 they did a 30th anniversary for Suzuki America corporation. It was one of my all time favorite bikes. I traded it in for my wife to get her first Harley Davidson. I put a lot of miles on that bike. Bullet proof... thanks for the video 😊
What?! I just happened onto this channel and took Jerry for a Supersport rider. I want my money back for this video! 😂
Enjoyed the "slight" deviation from the normal, but back to cruisers and training videos 😁
I was waiting for you to do a wheelie.🏍💨
Great thing about clip ons, easy to change bar height and angle to more upright and back.
Nice review keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Beautiful bike
About the absolute last thing I expected to see when I logged into TH-cam today. 😆
You looked pretty comfortable on it for somebody who is 6'2" Lol
Beautiful bike! I know it's not your cup of tea, but hey sport bikes are for me.
Rear tire change and brake pads at local HD shop $750. A local guy. Veteran motorcycle drag racer. Specialized in Harley Davidson motorcycles. Beautiful shop. Same service under $400. Same tire, same pads.
Those straight elbows got me in pain just from watching. Relax, Jerry!
Jerry on a hayabusa?? No way!!!
I'm totally opposite. I can't ride anything with forward controls, I get mad vertigo. Even my wife's Rebel puts too much weight on my tailbone and starts to ache after 30-40 minutes. But the Hayabusa is actually very comfortable among sport bikes. Almost bought one when I was looking for a sport touring machine, and the only reason I didn't was the dealership didn't have any in stock when I was looking, so I ended up getting a Triumph Sprint instead, which has a very similar riding position (bars may be slightly higher but that's about it) and I have ridden that thing on several multi-state and multi-day trips with no complaints. Amazing how close I came though, moments after I signed paperwork on the Sprint, the Suzuki dealership called saying they had just gotten a 'Busa in trade... not sure I'd have wanted that one anyway. Guy knew I wanted it for touring and planned to put hard bags on it and still pointed out the one they got in trade had an extended swingarm as if that'd be a selling point to me.
verry good video .grts from belgium from danny
Wild man!!! Remember… nothing crazier than s 60 yr old man on a Hayabusa!!!
I've always wanted to see a Hayabusa run Jerry's training course.
About 10 years ago I had a young guy trailer a Hayabusa to my class. He said his mother told him he couldn't ride on the street untill he took at least 3 motorcycle safety classes. Mine was his 3rd. He was by far the best rider in the class. He picked up the techniques very quickly and easily made it thru all the exercises. The moral of the story, always listen to your mother!
Beautiful bike but yeah they are rough to ride. I tried one and felt like my head was forward of the front wheel. Miss my Honda Blackbird tho.. wish they still made.
C'mon Jerry....at least one quick rip on the highway...the ol' 55 to 185
....could've blurred the speedo with a Sumo Wrestler pic
1:16 99 mile/hour on the 1st gear 😮😮😮
I would like to ride one of those bikes.....once. I've never ridden a sport bike. I'm not sure how I'll feel about that riding position. I prefer cruising.
buy it Jerry!
I was hoping for a speed test on I-75 with THE man. Not going to happen.
I ride a Road Glide mainly, but also own a Yamaha XSR900. Sometimes 119 hp with 69 lb ft of torque at less than 430lbs is a total giggle fest 😀
Would be like riding a rocket ship when you open it up.
Man Jerry , talk about drifting over to the dark side! It's just a phase old guys go thru.......you'll be fine I am sure. Next week watch Jerry test a 305 Honda Benly tourer😮. 👍👍
My 19 year old daughter rides one these and she got a 360 tire and swing bar on hers
Jerry, what did you all end up selling this unit for? I'm surprised this came in used already, as these are already pretty sparing to find.
I don't know. It wasn't mine. It belonged to the dealer.
It's a beautiful and powerful bike and waste of money. Can't use it hardly on the street. It's a track bike. I was into a sport bikes when I was a younger and dumb. I'm 47 and I prefer a Harely touring bike with sit up position and being cocomfortable with a radio and the sound of a big v twin can't be beat. I don't need or want be doing 200 mph. 85, 90 is plenty fast enough for me.
Same here. I’ll be 50 this year and just bought my first HD… 2024 RG. On a side note… I sat on this Suzuki at a dealership recently… $19,900 new here and I’d have bought it 25 years ago. 😂
@TRC_WA congrats on your first HD. It's not in my budget to get something that new and the tech in these new bikes concerns me. I've got a 99 untra glide. Low miles and good shape. I hope to upgrade to Rushmore bike next year. Like a 14 or 15 model.
I sat on a sport bike last year and took it out for a short ride. My body didn't like it. So 25 years ago.
@@peterollinger2584 I hear ya. My body isn’t into sport bikes anymore either. Gixxer 750 to a HD. It’s still at the dealership… bought it a month ago and added $20k in upgrades. Gonna be a one of a kind. I went with green/chrome and all that’s left is the KW 2 into 1 which should be here within a week. As for the tech… understandable with a new model. I’m a tech geek myself though… and the 23 looked so dated next to the 24. So I rolled the dice and bought the new model.
@TRC_WA sounds like going be a cool bike. I like green bikes myself. My 99 is green and black two tone and lots of chrome and live ride stuff.
I can't afford and it's not in my budget to for what you have. Next year I'm hopeful I can get a 14 or 15 model years for around 15k. They have the touchscreen, GPS, satellite radio, 103 with a 6speed. I'll be happy with that. Probably change the cams out for touring cams and the mufflers and air intake and put my personal touches on it.
Jerry, are you sure you can handle the Hayabusa?
Elbows on knees and full speed is the only way to ride it 😉
Hey Deputy
I’m with you those bike look so uncomfortable. Ok if you’re 20 I’m in my 60s I’ll stay with my Harley sportster
Holy Jesus Jerry 😅😅 Open it up and blur out the speedo 🎉
Jerry, you look like 35 yo man, 😅
I almost buy one notbthe special anniversary, but it is a great one, instead I bought my 2023 fjr 1300 es.
By the way, what part of Florida are you located? Miami? I plan this June to visit Miami
I'm near Tampa.
@motorman857 thank you. How much do you charge for slow speed practice? I will be in Miami, which I will come one more time to your area.

Good Lord.
Not even a U turn??? How about the cone speed course?? Maybe even a drop. LOL
I've seen plenty of "adult" Harley drivers doing stupid things too
Very true.
Bikes like this are too perfect. You get over confident and don't feel the speed and get into situations causing you or someone else to get into an accident. (You show that bike to your friends and they want you to show off and do stupid things.)
I smell rice
I guess you don't know much about motorcycles there Jeri. The Hayabusa, although a great motorcycle, is more of a touring sportbike. It is also not the fastest motorcycle, like you said. If you can't handle the power, you probably need to buy one of those cruiser style Hardly Davisins. I rode one of those Hardly Davisins for 2 hours during a cruise through the Carolinas. It was a terrible experience! Very uncomfortable ride. My back hurt so badly, I had to see a Chiropractor the very next morning. I couldn't get out of bed. No, no farm-tractor Hardly Davisins for me, of course, I'm only 66 years old. So, Wesley Chapel Hardly Davisin is selling that used Hayabusa for the same price as a new one from Suzuki? Why would anyone buy a used bike, when one could buy a new Hayabusa for the same amount of money? Oh well, good luck selling that beater Hayabusa!
If you had actually watched the above video, you would have found out that Wesley Chapel H.D. is asking $17,500 for this bike. New, it's $20,100 plus, dealer add on's. In addition, this bike has an after market exhaust which is about another 1500 to 2000K. If you think this bike is more comfortable than a H.D. touring bike, you need to tighten up the nut behind your handlebars because you got a screw loose. This bike was traded for a new Road Glide because after the owner took a 500 mile trip, he couldn't stand the pain and needed a bike built for comfort.
Pretty bike, but that's where it ends. I have absolutely no desire ride those things. Your constantly crouched down in a racing position. No Comfort at all. Horrible for long rides.
I was in pain on a 20 minute ride.
Oh I bet!
Dude, you could have at least done a front wheel stand. What's the point of showing off this?
This is the wrong channel for that stuff.
Call me old... But a crotch rocket to me is the ugliest thing with two wheels... And why would anybody need that kind of speed and power? Just a waste
I prefer riding sport bikes. Much more comfortable since I can adjust my weight to get rest on my butt and back
This was my first “legal” ride in 2004😎
