    I like all the ways you’ve used the embossing powders, but I am really diggin’ that silver glitter with the white card stock. Wow, just wow!

    I ❤ heat embossing! It gives any card a special touch! It’s been around for a really long time, too! I’ve been wanting to try it with my stencils. Now I feel more motivated. 😊

    Great video! You gave me an idea with your edge embossing on the balloon...With stacking shapes, cutting the next smaller shape as a mask for the versamark would give a sharper definition of the embossing if desired.

    These were all great hacks. I liked the tip about using different colors of ink to emboss. Back in the 90s when I first started making cards we always embossed using pigment inks in different colors. You would use clear embossing powder over it.

    • @RebeccaKeppel
      @RebeccaKeppel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! It really helped set those pigment inks too because if you didn't emboss them they took forever and a day to dry!

    Great cards and tips Rebecca. On the Rabbit Hole tool, they say to get the powder to the top NOT TO CLICK the bottom but to ‘pump’ the top part and that is how the powered gets into the brush. Love the tool and purchased it after watching it one of your earlier videos. I never think to emboss an entire panel, but will try that one for sure.

      LOL, yes, I figured that out half way through! Either way it really is great tool right?! And really helps me with heat embossing especially here where everything is so dry and staticy! OK that's not a word but you know what I mean!

      One time years ago I was trying to layer up layers and layers of clear embossing powder to make it super dimensional and I did it on a mat on my desk and I scorched my desk!! So I'm betting you are no where near that useless at heat embossing!
      Here's a little secret...I had my husband look in our storage closet and he found my son's stuffed animal pigeon from the books Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! I have a hard time getting rid of things like that (my son just turned 15 lol). Keep your eye out for him lol!

    Great fun video. So many wonderful ideas that you can apply in various ways as you grow more familiar and experienced with heat embossing. My favorite was the embossing of the embossing folders both ways or sides. I am deep into embossing folders. I also make my own DIY anti-static treatment but originally bought one of the commercial wee canvas bags. Will I seem to never go through it? But I discovered the instrument or mini brush canister you snow how to refill only sold as empties for using with powdered make up and rouge. I filled with non talc baby powder that also is non scented. Seems to work as well as the canvas commercial brand. I really enjoy watching these different aspects to using embossing powders. I'm just growing into them. Years ago like over 20 years ago I made my own home made cards and added embossing powders and also made an adorable flocked kitty story for a sister in law. I tried recently using the newer brands of embossing flocks but they just don't work like the 20 year old one did. I'm going to look up some videos here on TH-cam to see if there's hints or hacks on making them come out better than I've had luck with. I also just started using a small single pancake griddle only 10 dollars from Amazon instead of the heat gun for small projects but also picked up the 8" version which is more like 7" at the base and now I can use my larger die cut outs and apply all over embossing powders especially clear. My neighbor who we share a lot of these ideas back and forth brought over copic painted cut outs and we decided to apply clear over them using the pancake griddle and oh my gosh the results were amazing. Only thing we noted is the ink colors seem to get deeper every time you heat or apply another layer of embossing and heat set. I also keep a double layer 12x12 inch glazed smooth ceramic tiles to help cool the embossed paper quicker. And it definitely does help cool. You could freeze these tiles I suppose if you wanted to think that far ahead. Also I flip the tiles over and use as a weight to flatten items if they curl up at all. I've caught some of your other videos and love them all. These are so helpful to introduce people to so many options and uses with embossing powders. Thank you for this share.
