This band has always had my attention for all the right reasons- far from the all too common do-dat-do-dat beat of their day, they delved into dark corners where others dared not venture. Great mix of tempos, flow interruptions and all around gnarly guitar licks gloriously captured in low-fi sound. Then there's that voice from beyond all known dimensions. Your best and worst nightmare all rolled into one. OMG what's not to love! This stuff is absolutely pure epic. This band punches way above their weight. This e.p. is a bona fide jewel in my collection.
@@BigBreakfast25 Consider it was 1983... the direction punk and hardcore was heading still felt wide open. IMO this band, while not alone, was considered innovators for pioneering this sound at that point. By the time this style became all too common this band had been passed over and seemingly forgotten while others basked in the glory as if they were somehow groundbreaking.
@ DeeJaay Walker you nailed it in your description of the band, I don't know if they had listened to Rudimentary Peni but they both share the same twisted nightmarish feel to their music
@@migspit You and I see both bands in the same light, that's for sure. Nick Blinko had his own brand of demonic otherworldly vocal delivery, but both bands brought a strange blend of chaotic energy reigned in with tight song delivery and psychotic imagery.
United mutation are by far one of greatest HC punk bands of the early 80’s. Along with such classics- Discharge, the Fix, Misfits(earthad/bullet, Void, S.O.D(Swedish) Wretched, Die kreuzem, Life’s blood, Neos, ENT, Gauze, Vile, Broken bones, Crucifix, Negative approach, SSD, Necros, Bastard, Anti cimex, Ripcord, Poison idea, Uproar, Septic death, Battalion of saints, Rudimentary peni, Samhain, Fear, DOA, Crow, Deep wound, Bannlyst, Olhoseco, the Execute, Ch 3, Headcleaners, Betong hysteria, Fang, Jerry’s kids, Anti sect, GBH, Negative approach, MDC, Gauze,Blitz, Skeptix, Nausea, The Subhumans(can), Negative fx, Icons of Flith, Christ on parade, Gang green, State, Unruled, Lobotomia, Fu’s, Death side, Varukers, English dogs, SOA, the Exploited, Last rights, Black flag, Chaos uk, Cromags, Disorder and many more...... ha
This is why I always ask people for band recommendations 🖤 I never would have found this absolute gem. Anyone got any suggestions for awesome shit I’ve never heard of, hit me up 🔥
Mike Brown(lead singer) used to wear leopard print leotards that he stole from his little sister, he was too big for them so the legs and arms were frayed, accented with a tiger claw necklace,,, I really miss that fucker
How'd I ever miss hearing this band? I wonder. Kinda reminds me of Beyond Possession or B.G.K maybe. but not like either one really. You know what I mean?
JOHN did you and Jay have a baby named Billy? I'm fucking confused.....I'm actually Kevin Diehl's,, Debs lives in da hllls...quit throwing records at your brother...it's unfriendly

This is satirical right? Cause don’t get me wrong I enjoy it, but it basically sounds like any other band of this style lol

Great ep .....got it $300 sounds like septic death meets rudimentary peni.and early japanese hardcore
Rips hard
That's what a three hundred year old man sounds like when he's puking
when he says final solution it sounds like hes singing my dogs allergic lmao
heard it as I read it.
similar to what Siege was doing in western MA
siege is from the south shore deep wounds from wma
Similar only in extremity level, not in style.
a REBEL band indeed!
The blueprint might have been close, but his vocals ripp hard as fuck, and the timing is different, fucking love United mutations
Im fuckin lovin it
This voice reminds me of G.I.S.M at certain point....!
It's the vocals and some of the solos for sure.
I thought of GISM too, not just because of the vocals, but also the year this came out (1983), same year as GISM's first release
George Trollhattan
1982
Reminds me of DOOM
Sakevi Yokoyama was heavily influenced by united mutation
You can even see in
Gism live 1999 video he's wearing a united mutation white shirt
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fuck yes
so fuckin good!
💙
HarrrrrrdcoooOooOooree
Man this shit is way hravier than the grind core metal core shit you hear today, better growls and screams
+Jose Salazar I know! And I love Grindcore.
Jose Salazar i like old gtindcore too and hxc 80's 90's and today...but this ep is cult
Idiota, el grindcore es mucho mejor y mas pesado que esto !
Aunque esta banda es fenomenal y de culto
still trying to analyze lice and flies lyrics a year later
How'd I ever miss hearing this band? I wonder. Kinda reminds me of Beyond Possession or B.G.K maybe. but not like either one really. You know what I mean?
Downside does a great united mutation cover
Tupa tupa tupa

JOHN did you and Jay have a baby named Billy? I'm fucking confused.....I'm actually Kevin Diehl's,, Debs lives in da hllls...quit throwing records at your brother...it's unfriendly

Meh, I doubt they ever saw much crowd action, but they were an ok band.
vocalist kinda sounds like GG right before he died
WTF exactly Bro... Like GG in the stuff with Antiseen... The hardest GG was on his putrid , raw vocal performances imo
THought it sounded more like him as he was dying
Great drumming.
uh huh
Hell yeahs, people!
Sounds like a prototype of Japanese Hardcore stuff
Big time
Yeah, the vocals are similar to Sakevi's with G.I.S.M.
Yep
Except the Japanese were already doing stuff like this by 1983!
@@metalheadgamer80 there's a United Mutation Demo from Sept 82 but then there's the GISM tracks from Outsider LP from Sept 82 too!
