I installed one of those on my 2020 GX460. Super easy, my teenage son did it in no time at all. Looks good too. But then I discovered it is only rated at 5000 lbs and my vehicle is rated for 6800 lbs. Yup, I was suckered! The only hitch made for the full capacity is the genuine Lexus hitch which ties into the frame and is so much heavier, and stronger. The downside is it is less discreet and looks a lot worse in my opinion. But because I plan on towing a dual axle enclosed trailer and eventually rust can be a problem from road salt (prefer it to be bolted to the frame rails as well as the rear crossmember), I ordered the genuine Lexus hitch from a discount Toyota dealer on eBay and installed it. I will sell the barely used Curt one on eBay at a loss. The Curt would be fine for my utility trailers etc., but for serious towing you will want the full size OEM hitch receiver. It comes with a bracket to remount the trailer light sockets in a more accessible location, but not with instructions. Be sure to ask for a copy when you order. There are videos on TH-cam on installing the OEM as well, which helped me. Don't be a sucker like me, know what you need, know what you are buying!

@@johncole79 It's a little tricky to plug the trailer connector in the way it comes tucked up under the bumper. If one chooses to move the plug sockets to a more accessible location, there is a little extra wire folded in the harness too! I upgraded from the 5000 lb curt hitch to the much bigger and heavier factory hitch. It comes with a relocation bracket and a piece of loom for when you extend the folded wire. The factory hitch ties into the side rails of the frame and lets you utilize the full 6800 lb tow capacity of the vehicle. But it is more expensive and harder to install. Had I stuck with the Curt, I probably would hace moved the sockets to an easier to reach location.

As John said, the lights are already wired (for both flat and 7 way type plugs) If you need to add a brake controller for your trailer, Lexus doesn't sell one, but a pigtail is included in the glove box to fasten to an aftermarket controller. The plug to connect it to the harness is up under the dash near the parking brake assembly. Premade cables are available for controllers. I bought a premade cable and a Tekonsha Controller from eTrailer dot com. The problem is finding a place to mount it where it will be to see the display and activate if necessary. I will likely need to extend my connector or make my own using the Lexus pigtail that came with the car in the glovebox and the Tekonsha pigtail that came with the controller (likely not use the premade one). One guy on TH-cam ran an extended cable under the console and into the compartment under the armrest, not accessible enough for my liking, but No place under the dash like in the old days, knee airbag, etc, and wife will shoot me if I drill up the dash. So my son 3d printed a "cupholder mount" which locks into the cupholder, and we mounted the controller to that. It's obnoxious, but it just might work! I'll unplug the controller and put it away when not in use.

Hidden controllers that can be tucked away can be installed, just need to drill a hole in a panel for a control knob, but I did not go this route as I wanted a controller with display and more functions, but a hidden controller properly installed would be a clean looking option.
