There is no more soul-comforting truth than the fact that one's salvation is obtained and assured in Christ and Christ alone. My soul may find comforted when I "upward look and see Him there," but my upward look is not what makes me safe; it is His presence on the throne that makes me safe. The second stanza reminds me of the text in Revelation that speaks of Satan, the accuser of the brethren, being cast out of the court of heaven by the saints of God, not by some miraculous power given tot hem, but "by the word of their testimony and the blood of the Lamb." The word of every beleiver's testimony is the blood of the Lamb, and it answers every accusation Satan may bring against them. So long as the Lamb is on the throne, no accusation of quilt can ever be made to stick against the children of God. It is my opinion that the best CCM is made of songs like this that take the old texts and set them to new music. There are some good CCM texts, but sadly, much of the lyrics written today are devoid of of any "meaty" truth. This is one of the best hymn lyrics ever written and the music blends with it perfectly.

Without sound bibical theology and a relationship with or only Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ it would be impossible to pen these kind of songs. I'm forever greatful to the person(s) who God has set His affections on and has filled they hearts with love for Him and His word. We cannot improve on the written scriptures or the themes found in there. This is one of the greatest modern "worship songs" that I have ever heard...it is filled with the language contained in the book of Hebrews in reguards to our Great High Priest. It is a blessing beyond measure to have listen to this Glorification of our God in song. I could spend the entire day listening to this... with my eyes filled with tears.

When I was 16, I went to a Led Zeppelin concert on my birthday and heard the song Kashmir (recently a few riffs were performed during the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show...which fold be a great deal about the show). I loved it and associated it with my birthday. I’m now 60. God showed me that Jesus is real about 5 years ago and gave me Before the Throne of God Above on my birthday. I visited my sister’s godmother’s church and liked the lyrics. The next week, the tune kept popping into my head as I prayed. I finally said, “ok, God....I’m going to figure out which hymn you want me to hear”! I got out the church program and googled them until I found it. That’s when I realized it was the song was a gift. Last summer I played Kashmir for my adult children because I still liked the sound. It all became clear a few months later when a Christian friend sent me an online article about music (since God was showing me that we have to be careful what we hear). My friend knew nothing about me and Led Zeppelin....She doesn’t know who they are. I happened to watch a video attached to the article and it turns our that song was written for a film about the occult! Once I read that, I thanked God that He replaced that satanic song with a godly birthday song. He is so good, and so patient, and I love Him! He loves everyone and can save anyone who comes to Him.

i walk on the very farm in brookebough co fermanagh northern ireland were this hymn was written and i talk to the LORD , it was written just years after the great potaoe famine and then came the great ulster revival , we need more Holy spirit inspired hymns like this now rather than repeating one liners 40 times

When I was 16, I went to a Led Zeppelin concert on my birthday and heard the song Kashmir (recently a few riffs were performed during the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show...which fold be a great deal about the show). I loved it and associated it with my birthday. I’m now 60. God showed me that Jesus is real about 5 years ago and gave me Before the Throne of God Above on my birthday. I visited my sister’s godmother’s church and liked the lyrics. The next week, the tune kept popping into my head as I prayed. I finally said, “ok, God....I’m going to figure out which hymn you want me to hear”! I got out the church program and googled them until I found it. That’s when I realized it was the song was a gift. Last summer I played Kashmir for my adult children because I still liked the sound. It all became clear a few months later when a Christian friend sent me an online article about music (since God was showing me that we have to be careful what we hear). My friend knew nothing about me and Led Zeppelin....She doesn’t know who they are. I happened to watch a video attached to the article and it turns our that song was written for a film about the occult! Once I read that, I thanked God that He replaced that satanic song with a godly birthday song. He is so good, and so patient, and I love Him! He loves everyone and can save anyone who comes to Him.

This is in the hymnal (Hymns Modern and Ancient) at my church and many people like it. The lyrics speak truth. It is a pleasure to sing during worship. But this singer has such an angelic voice! She takes it to a whole new level.

The offer of forgiveness is there for all who would repent of their sins and turn to God for salvation and be saved from eternal judgement. This offer is there for you too. As for what have I done to help , probably the same as most other folk , being involved in charity, handing over change in the buckets, my work and staff contribute to the NSSPC, we also contributed to a day in the office in where one of our staff members completed over 6 hours non stop cycling on an exercise bike. My children's schools were heavily involved in helping with getting clothes to send to those in need, also to educate those in what religion really is a man made concept....I could go on but I think you get the point.
As for those who send out prayers to stop suffering of the children , well that's clearly never worked, it won't either as remember God has already pre planned this.
Now I have given you just a couple of questions , I doubt you will answer them with any logic and yes I'm making a broad sweeping assumption on the evidence of conversing with religious people as yourself.

If you knew you could have a child who would lie, backchat, even murder, would you not still have that child for all the joy he/she would bring? Even if your answer is no, most parents would say yes, and God is a God of love who wants a loving relationship with His children. And loving relationships are built on flaws - would you really want to be Supreme Ruler over a bunch of insentient robots than father and friend of a few people who choose and love you despite their setbacks?

Yes. It was God who made them suffer. But a blade must be quenched before it is tempered - it must go through heat and fire before it is made softer. Any Christian (that is, not a Church going, Bible believing person per se, but someone who truly loves God with all they are) who says they have experienced no hardship is a liar. Any Christian who says they have become a better person because of each hardship, however, is not lying. Besides, in the long run, 100 years of toil and hardship on Earth is nothing compared to the eternal joy awaiting anyone who honours God.

I've already explained that their hardships have provided them the opportunity to become better people and closer to God, but remember: they are not dead - nobody dies - they are merely awaiting Judgement Day. Besides, as you pointed out, God is "all knowing", and to try to understand His logic from our limited Earthly knowledge is ignorant and futile.

What a ridiculous statement.
Goes against logic. Example if no one sins in heaven, no wars, no jealousy, no greed and so on, then God created that. I am right in saying God created heaven. That is what we logical free thinkers call a double fallacy. You need to explain why he how the after life is perfect ? You also need to explain free choice as I'm assuming Your saying God gives us free choice on earth and that's what causes sin. There for can I sin in heaven ? If not where is my free choice in heaven?

I believe in the literal, physical, bodily resurrection and ascension of Christ from the dead. It is the most cognitively responsible position to hold on the matter.
