Hey guys, idea for a video. A little similar to this. - You make decks and play against each other, BUT, your decks MUST contain one and only one, nonbasic card from each set in MTG's history. Do you just build goodstuff piles? Do you try for combos? Do you go Kindred/tribal? Do you got for an archetype like Spellslinger? Which do you pick, black lotus or force of will?!
Tarkir solely because of fetch lands. They balance Modern around fetches, they never print them into standard (but maybe with the next Tarkir set coming next year), and no doubt every new land that gets designed gets designed around how fetches will impact them. I know fetches came before but out of the 4 sets here it seems like a no brainer. And I didn't even talk about delve.
@@Shinobi-tp3yq More than likely mana/land pile is separated and you can play a basic land each turn hence why each of them somehow manage to obtain domain very early.

That's actually a very cool "format". It's not just big decks, it also helps showcasing the thematic strengths (and, well, weaknesses) of the various sets.
I'm not convinced it actually works, wouldn't the delayed trigger from act of treason remember the original owner and resolve after Olivia's ability resolves?
@@TheRealPlato I don't believe so, no. It doesn't specifically say to return it to it's owner's control at the end of turn. Not to mention there's nothing stopping you from gaining control of your own creature for whatever reason with act of treason. I believe in the interaction lol
@@TheRealPlatoyou'll have 2 continuous effects with no dependencies operating on the same layer (Layer 2 - Control). Even with timestamps and timed ability expiration control wouldn't revert.
It would probably be feasible in an online format, just so everything runs in a decent pace. Would also probably need some sort of anti-bricking rule like everyone starts with 3~4 random lands just to try to prevent non-games from happening. Wonder what sets would have the advantage. Probably the ones with the best cheap units or with the best interaction? Graveyard effects like flashback or jump-start would probably be really strong just because it guarantees the player always have more options if the game halts to a grind.
