I've been a Fuji fan for about 6 years now. Had a Canon set up with a 7D2 & 6D plus some L lenses but like you, I started to get fed up with the weight. After going through an X-T1 (which my son now has) I had a pair of T2's, one of which got moved on for a T3. I shoot a wide range of subjects, living in the English countryside, but wildlife is my real passion. I have had excellent results with the 100-400 plus the 1.4x at 1600 ISO. I also have the 50-140 which to me, is such a great lens, just a shame it's so heavy!!
The X-T bodies feel so much like my old analogue cameras, which is why I think I enjoy using them so much. I've just started to make some wildlife videos, and I'm looking forward to the results. Nice video, thanks.

Dan, thanks for this latest video. A couple of years ago, I picked up a used Fujifilm X70 fixed-lens prime, and because of weight, portability, and size, I've been using the X70 a lot over my Canon system. Of course, there are things I miss and I can't photograph the long-zoom, but over long days on the streets, my back and aging body have thanked me. I haven't replaced the Canon system because of the glass, but the X70 could be a potential gateway to switching.

Again, another entertaining video. It does not surprise me that you find the XT-2 to be a satisfyingly useful camera which, as you accurately say, can be easily operated in the dark. I had an XPro-1 until recently when I moved up to the XT-2. In simple terms, it works and it works intuitively well and produces great images. (Liked the dark goggles you began with, but the sunglasses that you switched to half-way through seemed a better fit. (Did anyone else notice the swap?) Cheers once again from the UK.

My two daily cameras since (roughly) 2012: Nikon EL2 & Fujifilm X-Pro1. I was in a nostalgic mood a few weeks ago and bought a Canon 5D mk1, just with a 1.4 nifty fifty. Oh boy, heavy, but so simple, so satisfying. Slowly selling off all my other cameras, 135 and 120's. I think I'll eventually be buried with just one: the Nikon. If excavated 500 years later, it would still work.

Bought my Hasselblad 500 C/M for my short lived 15 wedding and portrait career, I just felt the FTN was not the right tool for the job. It's simply a project where I can't physically move myself as close as I would like to be. So, the zoom is the longest lens I have, which I bought basically for this one project, and the 2x because I need all the length I can get. And this at times isn't enough.

$7000. You realize how much OTHER stuff I can buy for that? I spend less than 2k for my ENTIRE Fuji system. The number of actual pros using Leica now is SO low because most do not have the money to spend on the equipment. The brand is about being a accessory now. And, you can't travel for an assignment with ONE body so you are looking at $15,000 before lenses. Crazy.

You have the same mindset as me as far as hating camera menu screens. I also really hate bulky gear. I started digital photography 7 years ago and I bought a Fujifilm before they were taken seriously because of their form factor and how easy they are to use. I also started adapting vintage primes to Fujifilm cameras almost immediately and everyone always assumed my Fujifilm cameras were film not digital (I got tired of explaining mirrorless cameras to people). I have never owned a DSLR and I told myself I would never buy one because I would leave it at home and would never want to shoot. I bought a Sony A6400 a year ago for the no record 4K record limit video. It’s such a soulless piece of kit and the menu system is really unorganized. I always forget where everything is in there and I just wanna get rid of this camera once Fujifilm makes a camera that can record 4K with no continuous record limit. The a6400 is not allowed to take photos and it it’s strapped to a gimbal or tripod 90% of the time.

Fuji X-E2 paired to XF35/1.4 is a survival kit for me if my Canon system together with a backup body ever fails. It is also a "50mm" lens for me so to speak. I also recently have bought a Chinese lens Laowa 9mm "zero distortion". it's one hell of the lens. it's not cheap though. But when a scene calls for a super-wide angle shot distortion-free right from the camera you can't go wrong with this lens.

Have you used the Laowa lens much for astrophotography? I still use my Canon mount wide angle with an adapter for astro on my Fuji cameras, which means I can't adjust the aperture... but stuck at f2.8 works well for astro - lol.
