Yeah, because we all know what particular mesh should be used to repair our hernias, and which type of surgery is best for us, lol! Most surgeons are not that easy to talk to, and they certainly don't like their methods questioned. I've been through this more than a few times dealing with surgeons, either for myself or on behalf of family members. If you're lucky you might get 1 minute of a surgeon's time before surgery. They walk in, explain in as few words as possible what the surgery consists of, and if you have any concerns they'll usually answer (as they're walking away) "Don't worry, barring any complications, everything should go smoothly. If you have any other questions please consult with your nursing staff, I'm sure they can help you with those, okay? I'll speak with you after the surgery".
Yes feels there should be informed doctor, nurse or team who could answer the patients questions through the process if the surgeon is busy and is passing by all the time, saying everything is well when the patient is anxious with all the different pains and new he is feeling.
@@radhiyaify Yes, I'm going through this right now with my grown son, who's autistic. He's having complex hernia surgery on November 19th, as he has 3 hernias, 2 small ones, and another one that's about the size of a large cantaloupe, just below his navel. They were as a result of 2 abdominal surgeries he had in 2023, which weakened his abdominal wall. His 1st surgery was an emergency appendectomy, and when the surgeon opened him up he discovered that a section of his colon had been infected from the poison. So he had to cut that section out and create a temporary ileostomy with a stoma. He had to wear an ileostomy bag for 4 months, and then had it reversed, which was the 2nd surgery. After several months passed he developed the 3 hernias, but his surgeon wouldn't do the surgery because it was too "complex", and he said my son needed a "hernia specialist". So we found one who's supposed to be "one of the best", and he said my son qualifies for "robotic surgery", which means a far less risk of infection and far less healing time. This surgeon has done over 400 abdominal robotic surgeries, so we feel very fortunate to have found him. Unfortunately, he's not very approachable, and doesn't have a personable character. He just quickly explained what the surgery involved, the time it would take to heal and he was out the door in lightning speed, before we even had a chance to ask any questions. But there's not much we can do about that, because he's one of the best in his field. So we'll just have to take it in stride I guess.
Thank you for this video. I posted this comment / question on another video from this channel, but the video was from 1 year ago and I did not know if it would be seen. I had a CT scan of my abdomen about 2 weeks ago due to severe right flank pain. I was told there was no hernia, no mass, no infection, etc. Basically the doctor told me they did not see anything that would be causing my right flank pain. However, as I was reading through the overall CT scan results a couple of days ago, I saw there was a note in the FINDINGS section under EXTRA-ABDOMINAL SOFT TISSUES that states "Small fat-containing umbilical hernia". The doctor at the ER (where I had the CT scan) never said anything about this hernia, she told me there was no evidence of a hernia at all. Then I had an appointment 3 days ago with a Family doctor that saw the note for the umbilical hernia, but all she said was that this would not be the cause of my flank pain. Nothing was mentioned about getting this repaired at all, never mind waiting any amount of time. I have been having the right flank pain for over 7 weeks now, and no one can tell me why. I have had 2 CT scans (first without, then with contrast), an MRI and multiple doctors examining my right flank and abdomen with palpitations checking for a mass or abnormality with no findings of anything that would cause my pain. This pain is every day, all day as long as I am either standing or sitting. The only time the pain goes away is when I lay on my back. After 10 to 15 minutes on my back, the pain is completely gone. So, my question is does this hernia need to be repaired with surgery as soon as possible?
@@RaveeKumaar Nice try, but I retired a year and a half ago and have not worn trousers or a belt since then. I wear mostly athletic clothing with elastic waistbands.
@@RaveeKumaar As I stated, I do not wear trousers, and have not for more than a year and a half, as I retired. This is nothing to do with my waistline, it is something deep inside my flank area. There are several things it could be, but no one (7 doctors so far) has been able to tell me what it actually is. Physical Therapy and exercise are not helping, and it is just the latest I've been told to try that has not helped at all. It is almost 3 months that this has been going on, so a muscle would have at least gotten better, if not healed in this time.
Thank You, Dr., for the clear explanation. I've watched several of your presentations. I'm 70 and now facing my third recurrence of an inguinal hernia. First repair was laparoscopic and second one robotic. This third occurrence has been mildly protruding and goes back in easily, or when I sit or lie down. It appeared about 2 years ago and I've put off re-treatment. I am quite active and about 2 years ago switched to Keto style diet and dropped 50lbs to my current, comfortable weight that I was in High School. I also came off blood pressure and cholesterol meds. After seeing this video I surmise my obesity played a role in the recurrence. Now to seek treatment.
I have had inguinal hernia open surgery like a week back but am finding difficulties in walking properly, having some pains on my testicles, Dr what could be the problem?
Thank you so much sir.thank u for giving lot of care patient s first.ur treatment is really appreciable . iam also one of them who taken care to me as a patient . thank you 🙏 so much sir.
Anything that you would inhale that might cause you to cough...which they all do to a certain extent. I've done all 3 in the past, and I hardly coughed when I smoked cigarettes, but I coughed a lot when I vaped, and most especially when I smoked weed. Maybe it's because I inhaled deeper when I vaped and smoked weed, than I did when I smoked cigs. Idk.

Loved it Doctor sahab. People coming up and just telling their hernia surgery failed is just rubbish. No one tells his fault.
Did i mean that? Really? Keep your comprehension to yourself.

The pain is not because of hernia.
You are wearing tight trousers or a belt.

I suggest if possible go to a doctor out of the loop or association of each other and mention nothing of them
