It’s new definition that purtan kirtankar sung four types devgandhari , devgandhai itself independent sawroop that is bilawal ang nothing else. Bhai Nirmal singh sung mixture of desi nd thaat asaveri ultimately no particular raag
Raag Devgandhari is mixture of Raag Bilawal and Raag Sorath.

If you listen - at 2:50 Bhai Sahib call it Devgandhari themselves. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji call it Devgandhari. But you must be right....😂
Its not devgandhari its Devgandhar..because he is not taking Asa Ang in AROH

ਸਿਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਰੋਤਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।ਇਹ ਜੋ ਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਸੀ ਟੋਡੀ ਦਾ ਅੰਗ,ਫਿਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਗ , ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਰਬਾਰੀ ਕਾਨੜਾ ਦਾ ਅੰਗ ਹੈ।। ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।। ਜਿਆਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੋਗ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਮੈਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।।
Nihchal Gurbani ..Guru Sahib Bless everybody with that knowledge...moreover you said he is singing desi todi ang in beginning and darbari kaanrhaal...i would say that there are very few raagas which are totally independent...about 90 percent of the raagas are mixture of orher raagas🙏🏼
Every mishrat raag has his own separate identity
NIHCHAL GURBANI and this one’s special identity is use of swar sangati Re Ni(k) Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in poorvang
