I keep watching your 742 videos every time I fly the 747-200. It’s the only way I can fly it till the brain muscle memory gets drilled in. Great videos, your doing a great job the flight simulator community. 🙏
I did not know you also streaming on Twitch. :) I was waiting patiently for Felis 742 part 4 (landing part) and also Flyjsim Q400 in depth tutorial. Glad to see you flying this bird.
Yes I really need to get the landing video done for the 742 - just waiting for Felis to push the version with fixed localiser capture, then I need a few days off work to get it recorded. Sorry for the delay!
This is the channel to go to when you want to learn in a way that is easy to understand, I belive he could learn a monkey land a plane. Thanks for all the good content!!!!
A really lovely detail in the sound they modelled is the difference between having the wipers parked vs having them vertical, the cockpit is nosier with them parked and a lot of crews had them vertically (they stop wherever you switch them off!) although a lot of airlines, especially BEE made it forbidden but they've modelled the air rush sound which is very cool!
I've got a bit of a backlog building up at the moment, with some 747 content to finish, then hopefully the HotStart Challenger 650, but I do enjoy the Q400 so I'm sure there will be something later!
Love your videos, extremely informative, thank you. A question on the display unit, when you go into FMS 1 as the nav source...TERM is displayed in Green. What is the TERM indicating?
Thanks for the nice feedback. TERM is terminal area CDI scaling. Normally when the bar on the HSI is at the full scale point (in FMS navigation) you would be 2NM from the track centerline. In terminal mode this would be reduced to 1NM to provide for more sensitive steering cues. This transition happens at 30NM from the departure and arrival airports. The default G1000 should also show this symbology.
can't for more video on the Q4XP. i'd like more videos on the usage of the UNS especially when flying on VATSIM. For example yesterday on VATSIM, EDDM approach didn't clear me for a transition but then told me to go direct DM412 then DM729, so i just put the DM412 in the DTO of the UNS but doing so, i only had DM412 in the ND and all the Final waypoint of the apporach was not displayed, so i didn't know how to correclty those 2 new waypoint ordered by ATC
That's an interesting one. I'll need to load that into the UNS and see how it behaves. Getting cleared to a particular RNAV waypoint that isn't on the flightplan is quite common especially with those long RNAV linear hold/sequences that they so often have in Germany. Should just be a case of putting them in manually but the final approach should also stay there at the end of the plan. Do you remember the specific STAR, transition and approach you had loaded?
@@ReflectedRealitySimulations happened quite often on vatsim, i never enter a transition in the flightplan if i wasn't cleared by the ATC, but seems that the ATC consider you have the transition set in the FMC/MSCDU/UNS. In real life, does the ATC gives direct to a transition waypoint but you haven't been cleared to that transition ? i can't remember unfortunately, I was only cleared a STAR but i was asked to go direct to a waypoint that is part of a transition
Thanks for the nice feedback. Yes it's a fun aircraft. Personally I'd like to see better systems for what they are charging, but it flies very nicely, and can fly into some fun airports.
Great content as always. I wonder if you could do a detailed step by step video on how to do an ILS approach in the Q4XP. Have watched this video ten times, followed everything you do and I am not able to catch the localizer. I must be missing a step and don’t know what it is. If possible. Thanks
Thanks for the nice feedback, and sorry for the delay replying. Have you been able to sort the localizer capture issue yet? If not, let me know what airport you're having issues at and I'll take a look at it.
Thank you for the response. I understand that your profession is demanding and keeps you busy. My issue is not at a specific airport. My issue is to know the steps in sequence to set up for an ILS approach. Thanks and Happy Holidays.
Hello Graham, xfill has been fixed for me with ver 1.04. I would appreciate it if you inform Amy as well. Thank you for the great videos. I really look forward to them.
The Q4XP flies nicely - very believable and doesn’t have the 732 pitch issue. The systems are pretty basic though, especially electrical and pressurisation.
Hey Graham, can you please do a video of changing the runway landing 180 degrees if the wind changes mid flight in the FFA320. So if you had planned to land at runway 23 but when you get there you need to change to runway 05
That's called "circle to land". I don't have a Airbus video for that, but if you look for circling in my channel you'll find one for the IXEG and TBM900. The Airbus is a lot easier than those as we'd use TRK-FPA but the principle is the same.
@@ReflectedRealitySimulations Thank you for responding Graham, I know you must be busy. Are you on the xplane forum? Actually you better not say, I have about 1000 questions for you regarding the FFA320, haha I’m trying to fly from NZAA to NZWN but the aircraft is always high on the profile and I always panic because I’m too high.
I am on the forums as Graeme_77, but I don't check there very often. I'm on the HotStart Discord most days though, and always happy to answer any questions I can.
Hi Graeme... tx for making this video which gives a really great overview of what one can expect when purchasing the Q-400. One question, how complete is the documentation that is furnished with the plane?
Sorry for the delay responding. Yes as pa4tim says the documentation is pretty poor on the Q4XP. I know the Majestic docs are a lot more extensive but IMHO FlyJSim should have provided their own full documentation. I believe Amy is working on extra documentation for the UNS.
Hello there! First of all, thank You soo much for the very detailed tutorials, those on the 742 helped me a lot! I have a question for You - do You have Your settings / plugins / addons list somewhere? I'm struggling to get the XP to flyable frames after coming back to the platform, and love Your balance in the sim. Keep the blue side up!
Thanks for the nice feedback. I run a fairly simple sim, not too many scenery addons which helps a lot with performance. I've got Orbx TE GB South that you can see in this video, but that's about it for scenery. I've only got a GTX1060 6GB, but running at 1080 it's still OK for performance. I do have a 5800x CPU and 64GB so I'm normally not CPU limited. Visual Effects: High(HDR) Texture Quality: High Antialiasing: 2x SSAA+FXAA Anisotropic Filtering: 4x World Objects: High Reflection Detail: Minimal No scenery shadows Using Vulkan driver Hope that helps.
@@ReflectedRealitySimulations Thanks a lot for this detailed answer. Gotta look into CPU in my setup, seems that it is causing the issue with performance. Keep the good work and looking forward for Your next videos, cheers!

Yes I'd heard they'd done that Sam. I don't know the Q400 well enough but it's nice they've simulated the effect.
At 43:39 I suppose you were sneakily talking about the CL650 haha?
Yes indeed, pitch mode is very useful on the Challenger 650.
Very nice video. But when do you plan making descent tutorial for felis 747?
Haha I thought you were being rude
