RUSH toured a lot with KISS in the beginning as KISS's opening act. When later in life Geddy was asked what they learned from KISS, Geddy gives them credit with teaching RUSH about the importance of giving a great show and leaving it all on the stage for the fans no matter what. But KISS in the 70's had 2 camps. Those that loved them and those that hated them because they were too commercial. Back then Kiss stuff was on everything from Lunch boxes to kids underwear. Even had a Saturday Morning cartoon for a little while, lol. It was AWFUL, lol. But, Gene Simmons was a marketing genius.

He had the tumor removed in 2/91, (showed off his scar on mtv and all the metal mags and had the best sense of humor... saying he could finally out do Tommy Lee for solos, if his heart explodes during a show) then did chemo at Sloan Kettering, the video for god gave rock n roll to you, etc. his last public appearance was the mtv music awards in 10/91, with Bruce, in LA. He went back home to NY, the next day and suffered a massive aneurysm from the heart cancer. He was in a coma till his death 11/29/91, another massive aneurysm is what killed him. His cause of death, was heart cancer.

My mother fell down the steps, and Paul stopped the show for a minute and asked if she was alright. One of my best friends also went to the shoe with his parents and we met up at the show.
Blondie opened. I know that because one of the songs she played was 11:59, she was promoting the Parallel Lines LP, and I loved it so much, I went to the record store, Square Records in Lancaster SC and bought the 45 with 11:59 on it , and I still have that record.
I know what the data shows, but I know what I saw, I know what I bought because of the show, the very next day, and I still have that 45 in my room.
I have asked my friend who it was that opened, and he said Blondie. We were both semi fans of Nantucket , we had older sisters in the same grade that were friends, and they were bigger fans. Neither of us have seen Nantucket live, but I have opened for them anf Marshall Tucker Band while playing synths for a band I was in years later.
And finally, that was the only concert that I went to to see KISS, and that was the only concert I went to until I was old enough to drive to them myself, several years later, without my parents, which would have been 1982 when I got my license.
      It was Blondie.

@@wolf762x51 It's possible. Very strange that it isn't mentioned anywhere. I have 4 books with Kiss gigographies and none mention Blondie. I have a table book with the concert posters, none mention Blondie either. One the flipside, I have definitely seen gigs in my town that aren't listed on a band's gigography.

I was a huge KISS fan when I was a kid, but the parents would not let me go to their concerts. But years later, when the original four got back together and did their reunion tour, I was there. First show in Indianapolis, the old Market Square arena, and it was fucking incredible. the concert videos didn't do them justice. I saw them again a few years later for their Psycho Circus tour, the last tour where the original four played together. Great memories. They were known for their looks and their pyrotechnics, but they seriously wrote some great rock songs too. The Destroyer album is just a classic rock album, period.

Lifelong KISS fan! Best concerts I have ever been to, inside the songs rattle you & the pyrotechnics are very hot! Seen them with alot of great bands, but no one puts on a show like them! This last farewell tour I was leaning over the wall of our balcony suite & Gene was on a floating pedestal & came so close I could have touched him & he winked at me & passed on by!! Sad that was the actual last KISS concert bc I have seen a few in my time even through a thunderstorm! Forever was my first dance wedding song. Great memories from every show!!! The last show I did miss the huge KISS lights with bulbs.

Oh and I’ve seen Kiss four times live, every time was fantastic. What’s cool, is not only did I get to see them, my kids have seen them twice with me, and my grandchildren once with me. They were blown away. My grandson brought a friend with him, and the friend only listened to rap. The friend told me he’s going to broaden his horizons into old rock. Awesome.

Seen Kiss multiple times. Even traveled to Detroit to see the reunion tour. Which didn't include this song. But when I seen them without makeup 💄 this was a mainstay song. Totally rocked live. Especially with Eric Car on drums. R.I.P.

It took 42 years but I finally get to see them. The first time the band I was in had a gig the same night so we
got to deal with the overflow of folks that couldn't make the show. The second time recently before the world
ended, my "friend" and I got turned around going over the mountain pass in February.
Sept 24 I finally get to see them.
The band got flack for selling out during the disco era with this song.

You should see them live, they still put on a good show. My mom used to drive us as teens back in the day 70s to the closest show (2 hours each way). I repaid the favor by taking her to the last show here in Atlanta. She loved it and posed with a good Gene cosplayer in the crowd. She's 82 and still a rocker.
