    If there is the argument that this watch is a homage of the Royal oak, then there is the argument that the royal oak is a homage of the Buler AstroMaster from 1970.

    Who fucking cares if is it a AP hommage? It is wonderful and it costs 1/10.

    Very nice. I already own two ML Masterpiece watches. This Aikon might be my third ML. I've got watches worth more than 10K, it doesn't matter. Maurice Lacroix rocks. Snobs don't know what they're missing.

    Thank you for mentioning the half-links. I won't buy any more bracelet watches without them. Compared to the IWC, I like this one's lack of crown guards.

    The price for a watch like this is really fair. That's what a watch is really worth.

    An impressive brand with elegant designs executed with top-quality workmanship and with the best materials and features we've come to expect and require of higher-end timepieces. And generally offered at economical prices unmatched by such higher-end Swiss brands. A favorite of mine since I first became introduced to the brand when I purchased an exclusive limited edition that has quintupled in value since its purchase. In my view, of all the Royal Oak homages this is the one to own.

    Great video!
    I totally agree on the fact that a watch can only take so many shapes...
    Too bad they don't have a 39mm version of this. This watch is just too big for my 16cm wrists.

      VinniBe D.S. Word, let's hope they will release a smaller size. On my 17cm, 39-40mm is absolutely perfect :)

      Maurice Lacroix heard your request! They are releasing the 39mm version this year. It’s true that integrated bracelet designs tend to wear large so the 39 will suit most wrists. I’ll check it out but nevertheless I enjoy mine very much to this day. Really well-made luxury items, no matter what snobs might say.

      UptickWatchReviews I finally found a video where they briefly mentioned it, I just hope they have this amazing blue. From the video, it seemed like it was going to be a special edition.

    I just purchased the same watch reviewed in the video with the same blue dial SS bracelet and I am very impressed. The only thing I am disappointed with is using pin inserts for the links in the bracelet instead of using screws. The Crown action like you said is flimsy and seems very fragile. The bracelet deployment should have a more pronounced emblem that just the "m". Otherwise, this watch is beautiful and for the money, it is a great value.

    Ap clone but i liked!

    • @johnnguyen7171
      @johnnguyen7171 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Then that “clone” would go the same for Patek Philippe Nautilus, Girard Perregaux Laureato, IWC Ingenieur, Bvlgari Octo, Zenith Defy Classic and so many big-dollar watches borrowing similar design cues. They are all loved by serious collectors and enthusiasts. Yes, it is an attractive design essence.

      @12801270able 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This beta-male shaming tactic and need to overexaggerate the likening of the Aikon to the Royal Oak is pathetic. Do you low-IQ watch snob sheep really think the only reason that people buy the Aikon is to scratch that Royal Oak itch at a "cheap" price? That's absurd. Their bezels don't even look alike in the slightest.
      Assuming one of the possible reasons behind it is some pretentious, elitist, condescending BS, then let's cubbyhole that snobbery; as well as can that allusion of 1) it being a "poor man's" option of the Royal Oak and 2) assuming one of the reasons as to why people would buy it is to get that Royal Oak look. Maybe people want it because it looks awesome on its own merits, regardless of the price, and irrespective to the existence of the Royal Oak.
      The Aikon's design looks visually more attractive to me because its design is more dynamic, bold, angular, masculine, and robust. Maybe that's why it triggers the Aikon haters so much - it's too disproportionately masculine relative to their feminine, beta behavior.
      I love what they did with its bezel and bracelet, and how harmonious those design elements are in concert with each other. It looks original and full of character. If the design was produced by Genta (since it seems some watch people really care about that), it's possible it would receive more accolade and better status from snobs.
      At best, you can say the Aikon draws some inspiration from the DNA of Genta's design. Otherwise, if you're going to categorize every derived steel dress-sports watch with an integrated bracelet as "homages", you may as well dub the PP Nautilus, VC Overseas, Bulgari Octo, Zenith Defy, IWC Ingenieur, Rolex Oysterquartz, Omega Seamaster Cal. 1020, etc as "homages", too. It's also like labeling every derived diver watch following the inception of the Rolex Submariner as homages.
      It's inept logic because that kind of beta-shaming behavior comes typically from classless people.
      I'm not someone that buys watches to be perceived a certain way or to feel a certain way from brand prestige (I draw my sense of fulfillment from the work I do) - I buy them because I like their design, quality, and engineering. In the case of the Aikon, it's a much more attractive watch to me than the Royal Oak.
