    His training methods are consistent if nothing else. He produces horses are consistently over bent in front and disconnected behind.
    The business of elevating the forehand and over bending it places his forehand in a advantageous configuration without engaging his hind end. This is self evident when he is doing tempis in particular.
    The judging has gone off the rails, if the ideal model is the Classical method.

      That mare is out behind. His program is backwards. Tempo and speed control should be learned in 1st level. He is white knuckles all the way. The Newbies will follow this bologna and scratch their heads wondering why their horse is always pulling, rushing and evading.

    Could never respect a rider that uses rollkur

    He's pulling the cra...out of that horses face. Omg. And he keeps ruining the pureness of the gaits. Poor animal. Learning what not to do.

    All overbent and yank yank yank, this horse has her mouth open resisting, or is way behind vertical (rollkur result). She doesn't know to be comfortable with contact. She's staring at the ground most of the time.

    I love love love when my mare is too forward, because the minute you sit them back they become capable of anything. Problem is my sore ab muscles after lol ;(

    I would love to see any one of these negative commentators ride a hot nervous high performance horse in this venue and literally create the rhythm, relaxation, contact, impulsion, straightness and collection as exhibited here. Thank you Edward Gal.

      @maddywilson7058 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Kat Heys no. Just no. This is horse abuse. You cannot justify it. Totilas was his most successful horse and in most of his tests he looks like he cant breathe and his hind legs are not as powerful as his front which are key signs of rolkur. I help out at a Dressage yard with top performance horses and this horse is getting abused. Do your research before you reply back to me.

      Kat Heys True, but doesn’t make the fact better that he’s training on rollkur. A shame considering his capabilities.

      "Horse abuse..." Like Edward Gal nor any other upper level rider who has spent years perfecting their riding and training cares what these commentators think. Just because you can throw around 10-cent words like "rollkur" and abuse doesn't make you qualified to know what the hell you are talking about. ANd I'd be willing to bet these commentators are the same women you see at horse shows whose horses run over the top of them and do whatever the heck they want.

      lib yaneed actaully we are the women who spent a god damn life time training our horses up to their potential because we do it the right way... we are educated vets, chiropractors and caring horse owners who have years and years of experience and participate in extensive research on the effects on rolkur....
      So no we arent Edward Gal but he really doesnt know as much about the inside of a horse as i do...maybe he is a good rider but his training methodes arent good for the horses at all ...
      Maybe i wont set a new freestyle dressage world record but atleast im not hurting my horse . So as a matter of fact im even more qaulified than those riders to make a call on animal welfare.
      So you should go educate yourself before you want to be a sexist stereotypical arsehol!

    "All can find fault, FEW can do better!" I have been riding 50+ years, and I have NEVER seen more beautiful transitions, and softness in a horse, looking at the beautiful ENGAGEMENT in the hind end, this is what dressage is all about! Control? Absolutely! control of the bend, control of every footfall, control of speed, control of balance....Dressage is all about control, and Edward does so in a Soft, Fluid manner.......So beautiful! THANK YOU Edward!!!

      Dressage isn't about control. It's about connection and relaxation. Nothing with horses is about control and thinking that is disgusting.

      The ironical thing is that many aspects of what you see here are in fact very classical. Classical does not mean only "no rollkur", it also means working towards very much of what you see here in this video. And now fire free.

    you better have control.

      @maddywilson7058 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Maura Ravenhurst no I havent but I work with people who ride hot horses everyday and compete them ect. My trainer has just come back from working with Carl Hester and has taken loads of horses that were more difficult then this out and would never train them with rolkur. This. Is. Abuse. Why cant people see it. Its abuse and this horse is clearly in pain. If you want to learn something go watch Carl or Charlottes masterclasses. They are way more pleasent

      Or don’t put a horse there? Wtf is wrong with people. We want and expect so much from a horse and then use “i have to keep control” as an excuse???

    Edward gal is the last person I would want to learn from. He doesn't know the basics of dressage, all he knows is how to add pizzazz in attempt to disguise the abuse going on. This man ruins great horses. Period.

    To everyone that is saying this is ok and backing your points up with hes riding a hot horse hes got to do that (abuse) watch Carl Hester deal with Nip Tuck. Nip Tuck is 50× hotter than this horse and Carl has taken him to the Olympics without using rolkur. Here is a video of them both th-cam.com/video/tRXDTZheNcA/w-d-xo.html . Watch that and tell me who has the worst training routine.

    do you guys believe in this riding? HE RIDES WITH ROLLKUR. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS HORSES FALLS BEHIND THE VERTICAL WHEN HE TAKES CONTACT. HE DOESNT BELIEVE IN STRETCHING, HE IS ONE OF THE WORST RIDERS IN MY OPINON AND MANY OTHERS!!!!
    do some research on this rider, totilas was trained with intense rollkur all his life, because of this so called rider.

    • @suzannesenser607
      @suzannesenser607 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BeautifulDancingFreestyle2016 you are placing all your focus on the front end, and not loojing at the hind end, or the big picture. His horses are always supple, balanced, listening, expressive, and elegant.

    • @josephmonaco4503
      @josephmonaco4503 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also agree with you. It's a lot easier slowing a transition down, when the horse is continually pulling forward. The transition looks better, but the horse is always in control. He can't do the transition from slow to fast with this horse because this horse is pulling him around the arena the whole time. Warmblood Horses have been bred for centuries
      to have those slow to fast transitions naturally. All this rider proved in this video is that he is not in control of his horse.Period. If fact, even the Grand Prix and Olympic riders have no control over their horses either. The horses are way more intelligent than their riders.

    • @Nightgrauen
      @Nightgrauen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Nope, she is correct. He is rollkuring his horses. Maybe not in this video. But I wouldn't give him my horse, even if he offered me a million dollars.

    • @mandyonsaber9238
      @mandyonsaber9238 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Suzanne Senser * his horses are deffinately not supple at all the point of the hind qauters coming beneath the horse is
      1. To distribute weight more evenly through the body
      2. To engage the core and round the back which is essential for the healt of the horse.
      I mean no hate or disrespect but you clearly aren't well educated on the true importance of proper schooling and the consequences of Rollkur.
      "Art2ride" is an excellent site that will explain the above mentioned with alll the medical proof
