Did you walk through the amazing cemetery? We had great meals there so all you need to do is read the posted menus ahead of time. You can bike ride or rent scooters to go along the coast to S. Margherita. One woman told us she walked there and back and thoroughly enjoyed it! Sounds like you showed up with a bad attitude and sought to prove yourselves correct. You succeeded!

I have just returned from there and would go back instantly, it was stunningly beautiful and laid back. Some of the Americans who showed up though were very brash and very loud! sorry but there were, not quiet or respectful just loud! not all, but some.

Lok girls, you needed to tour the castle that overlooks the port. Have a real meal for lunch or dinner. I understand you are on a budget, but live a little and enjoy a brandy or glass of wine and cigar at night. Walk along the promenade and don't be so stuck up. Spend less money on the ear rings and glasses and more on your other indulgences. Florida or L.A. beaches may be a better fit for you two.
If you are poor or don't want to spend your money, just stay at home. Nobody gives you anything for free either in Italy or in the United States. If you need alms going to Portofino is not a good idea. Portofino is a splendid place, but for those who have the money.
I have family from the area near by its all beautiful around there but portifino is just a little more beautiful in my opinion it's easily one of the most beautiful places on earth actually these 2 are strange and rent a car next time and go in the morning and not on the weekend when it's not too busy only problem with Portofino is getting there the traffic on the weekends is crazy.

it's a Historical peninsula, you didn't go to Castello Brown, there is also a walking tour , you could appreciate the beauty of the Harbour ,the architecture and soak in the vibes , next time go to Vegas 🤣😬

That's nonsense. It is a pretty dull city. Looks good and a great place for a sleepover or lunch. I will be going though on Wednesday as I have a few times and I can afford the fun. I'm on a road trip with my F8. Like I said it is a good looking town, but it is also like many other tourist traps along the SS1. Is it expensive? Not really. Shopping is if you look for high end brands. Does it cater to the more upscale crowd? To an extent, at least it kind of tries to. It's an odd place in this regard. It has one of the worst Michelin star restaurants in al of Italy - yes I'm talking about Delfino. Tourist trap

Aren’t you just a joy to have on our page. Broke no. budget travel yes we don’t believe that you have to be rich to enjoy traveling the world as you can see from our other videos in Italy. We’ve had a wonderful time traveling pretty much anywhere in the world without spending exorbitant amounts of money. We just don’t believe in lying to people and felt this location was very overrated.
This is such a sad video... you go to Portofino and Ligurian cities and vilages in general for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, frito di mare, or in general fish based food, you also go there for the caves, castles, hiking trails, and sunsets. You actualy do not need to spend a fortune for all this. The beach you were on is called baia di olivetta is not meant for sun bathing since it is mostly under the shade throughout the day. You pretty missed 99% of what the area has to offer. Probably a rage bait clip, since nobody is forcing you yo buy designer clothes from high-end shops. You will find Gucci and Prada stores in some remote areas of Italy as well, not sure why the surprise since these are Italian brands and are also part of Italian culture.
Whenever I return Home from overseas I feel a quite sad feeling like a longing to keep going or remain where I am. These 2 don't look like they will get that feeling even when surrounded by such beauty.
Maybe some people could of have tried to enjoy the scenery rather than worry about all the tiny things, especially if you go somewhere expecting the best your bound to be disappointed, to me it looks beautiful still!

Portofino is a place you drive through for fun. Maybe a sleepover, a lunch or shopping on a road trip from Nice to Rome for example. Not sure about the shopping though. There are the same shops you find in most European metropolitan cities. The appeal to many of us are the mountain roads north of the city and around the city area. The city itself, is just another city along SS1. I can't imagine staying there for a weekend let alone a week, and I can definitely afford the shopping and activities there. The hype? Did not know there was a hype. It's just another SS1 tourist trap. Maybe I view it differently being European.
Guys, I got you totally. I spend a lot of money and time on Italy last year and only the South makes justice. Genova, Cinque Terre, really disappointing and nobody talks about it!! You are not wrong!

Absolutely! We really loved Boccadasse which is a super short train ride from the center of Genova and reminded us of the movie Luca. Albaro had some very pretty beach clubs :)
I lived in italy which im blessed i was able to do that. But to film a gorg town in italian rivera with what appears to be a premeditated attempt to out it down due to ritzy yachts high end restaurants etc is shameful. Your not going there to” buy a lifestyle” rather appreciate the beauty of town .. beautiful castle there emerald coves . You guys are just trying to be different . Your manhole ear loops have distorted your logic

We actually took the train from Genoa then took the bus down - it was very easy! The bus can get a bit packed but the views were very nice all the way down to the main town.
The things you did in Portofino are not the things one goes to Portofino to do. Portofino is a context, a setting for the fun you bring to it... also why have lunch (and clearly choose the wrong thing on the menu) at a Cafe instead of a Trattoria. Such inappropriate clothes too, you packed that for Portofino? Yikes!

In this part of the country we really loved the city of Genoa itself as well as the smaller neighborhoods of Sturla and Boccadasse that were a few minutes away from the city by train :)
This could definitely be true!! We expected magic and unfortunately it just came up short for us on this first go around 🤷🏻♀️ happens sometimes in any travel we do

The things you did in Portofino are not the things one goes to Portofino to do. Portofino is a context, a setting for the fun you bring to it... also why have lunch (and clearly choose the wrong thing on the menu) at a Cafe instead of a Trattoria. Such inappropriate clothes too, you packed that for Portofino? Yikes!

What areas DID you like?
In this part of the country we really loved the city of Genoa itself as well as the smaller neighborhoods of Sturla and Boccadasse that were a few minutes away from the city by train :)

You obviously had the wrong expectations and were unprepared.
This could definitely be true!! We expected magic and unfortunately it just came up short for us on this first go around 🤷🏻♀️ happens sometimes in any travel we do

The Amalfi Coast is WAY more beautiful and interesting than Portofino or Cinque Terre region. Amalfi Coast is simply SPECTACULAR

Portofino Its boring and plastic, its only for very few rich people, i suggest you go to sardegna.
There are many spots in Liguria that are cheap and gorgeous...
