    Update: Sadly the unlimited cash back match from Chase is gone. The new non public offer for an additional 1.5% for up to $20,000 in purchase is decent assuming you’re able to capture the spend. Best of luck and the link for the offer is above!

    • @HairSaves

      American Express has been pretty good to me. The Blue Cash Everyday is probably the best one for someone not traveling via plane all the time, especially as a beginner. 3% back on gas, 3% back on supermarket groceries (Walmart and Target don’t count, think ALDI/Food Lion)
      I’m currently having to wait another year if I want a Chase Card because if you open 5 credit accounts in the last 2 years you get auto declined.
      And a tip, use it only as you would your debit card. Don’t spend extra just because you can pay it later. That’s how you get into debt. I have never payed credit card interest and don’t intend to.

    • @GangstalkingReality
      @GangstalkingReality 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just use it when you have the money and pay it immediately and you should be ok and debt free. The credit card doesn’t really matter as they all will build your credit however if you’re looking for perks then that may depend on who you are as a person and what you’re looking to benefit from as in travel, dining, flight, travel, gas, entertainment, and free services (DoorDash, music, streaming, etc) or insurance that these cards may offer.

      TD has a standard 2% cashback card, most people end up talking about them because the cashback is just cash back it's not playing with any of the big bank ecosystems. Other 2% Cards, like the Wells Fargo reflect in the Citi double cash give you better points Potential

    I know that you want your credit card utilization under 30% when the statement date ends… my question is does it matter how much you spend on the card if you pay it back down before the close date?
    $800 limit
    Say I spend $400 (50%)
    If I pay $200 on it prior to the statement ending and I pay the remainder off on the due date will the keep me in the clear or is that a red flag of any sort?

    • @riograul2043
      @riograul2043 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Anytime you spend more of your overall credit limit on that line than 20 to 30%, It ding your credit a little bit, i think

    • @kura_bot
      @kura_bot 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      If you pay it back before the close date then it doesn't matter, however I did see a datapoint earlier today in an unrelated topic, that mentioned the bank itself might flag that as suspicious behavior even if they don't report high utilization to the credit agencies, suspicious behavior is grounds for the bank to shut down your card if they so chose, which is what happened to the person. I would err on the side of caution and just avoid maxing it out too much even if you intend to pay early

      Depends on what you want in terms of rewards, and if you are okay with an annual fee/travel a lot. With that score the American Express Blue Cash Everyday with no problem. No annual fee, 3% back on groceries from supermarkets (not Walmart. Think Food Lion/ Piggly Wiggly) 3% on gas, and 3% for online retail purchases. 1% everything else
