A fan since he was with Manson. It was John 5 that inspired me to play the guitar. I saw him with Rob Zombie open for Godsmack in 2006 and then for Ozzy a few years later. He has only gotten better over the years . And now a stint with Motley Crue? That is a career for many right there. Many more years ahead for J5. 🤟🏼
The difference between a "shredder" and John 5 is that John 5 plays melodic riffs, organized with flow all within the "shredder" world. That is skill/practice & dedication. I don't have many guitar icons but he's definitely at the top. And a super humble soul at that.
The thing is he is humble, and he is happy to perform with other great musicians. It is also what made him as big and well-known as he is - he worked for half the money of other session musicians, and he worked twice as fast - so everyone in the industry thought they were getting a great guitarist for a steal (and they were) but it gave him a name and a reputation. He has built on that and had a blast doing it. What else could anyone ask for - doing what you love around people you not only feel a kinship with but admire as well and a resume that is crazy eclectic and impressive beyond belief.
I was just thinking their styles were similar haha. And they both have white guitars with killswitches. They'd even look like they were already a band.
This man has never been in a band that was deserving of him. His solo stuff is on another level. I admire his dedication and work ethic with the instrument. You don't become a modern day virtuoso looking for shortcuts and being lazy. What a monster!
For like the last decade John 5 has released some unique amazing sonic solo works , refreshing to hear n watch he's got chops to please any level of players n fan
This dude just went on a whole other level. Thing that sets him apart with other shredders is that John 5 constantly seems to evolve vs repeating his ‘best of’ techniques constantly.
Very creative. So many techniques in this one song. Nice melding of abstract and groove. He can shred with the best of them, but I like how he keeps it unique and interesting.
i THINK HE IS PLAYING ALONG WITH THE ALBUM TRACK AND IS SO PERFECT THAT YOU HAVE TO LISTEN FOR THE SUPER SLIGHT DIFFERENCES. tHAT SWEEP IS SUPER CLEAN!
When, 20yrs ago some friend of mine said the guitar player for MM was launching a solo album I laughed, cause I only knew his work with him... Later on I realized he his probably one of the top 5 guitar players (in this genre)
Such a weird mix of diatonic playing like a beginner and stuff that is completely out of the box. John 5 was an inspiration after years of studying metal licks and getting bored with “traditional” metal playing.
I've learned to play without a pick . And I can do almost anything you can do with a pick, without a pick. Press your fingers together as if you're holding a pick. I mean speed picking is a problem. There's no point on my finger. But I've gotten by and people thought I was using a pic when I was not. Also, John 5 is absolute Legend
He's a monster. I never knew it while he was in Manson. Then it's like he's this alien? How big are his hands? That forefinger to ring finger stretch on a 25.5 scale guitar is impressive.
Im a hobbyist guitarist most of my life, since the age of about 5 when my parents got me my first guitar, a Roy Rogers guitar in the early 70s (still have a picture of me with it on xmas day) I always mostly used a pick up until about 3 or 4 years ago and recently switched over to finger picking, because my hand just won't hold onto a pick anymore, it just gets too painful and also just refuses to hold onto it.
He was too nice of a guy to be in Manson. He said once in a throwaway comment that his band mates treated him really really poorly. J5 is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and he deserves to be treated the same as he treats others.
Yeah yeah yeah... but have you seen him play chicken picken country music? No kidding, look it up. This man is an enigma wrapped in a riddle not bound by rock music. A real trail blazer as well as a natural talent. And I despise country music.... Loved this video.
He’s definitely a guitar treasure. His skill is outstanding

John 5 is a freak! Love this song and the play through was mind blowing! One of my favorite guitarists!
Love John's playing , very inspiring.
Never met a dude who is far too good to be in any of the bands he's been in. Absolute monster of a player

I've met Brian Carroll at a Primus gig in 98..I love John 5 but Brian is advanced in ways only guitarist will understand
@@taintright7039 Too true, Buckethead is on another level to most guitarists
Yes, a virtuous playing with Rob Zombie and Marylin Manson. Motley Crue is the first band he’s played with that comes close to showcasing his ability.
Doesn't matter what band it is he can play it. Any song all this guy has to do is hear it one time and he could play it
My face hurts from smiling.. I love everything about this dude and his music. Damn. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
John is incredible.. I long await the day him and Buckethead release something together.
I was just thinking their styles were similar haha. And they both have white guitars with killswitches. They'd even look like they were already a band.
add in wes borland for a tornado of insanity 😂
buckethead is light years better than john 5
@@Legabisonly guitarist can see this..I agree..Brian has evolved
John you Fng madman!! I love you!!that is some of the most badass playing I have heard in a while 🤘

John 5 is next level...this song is blowing my mind
John 5 is incredible!!
What a banger of a track and guitar!
That’s one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen in my life 😍
Its so freaking smooth and easy to watch but the execution itself is hard. One of my inspiration indeed!
This dude just went on a whole other level. Thing that sets him apart with other shredders is that John 5 constantly seems to evolve vs repeating his ‘best of’ techniques constantly.
I regret not buying this telecaster when it was released. Amazing run through by John as always.
It is very cool. Had to buy it directly from Fender.
@@Guitaroverkill They're almost double the price in Europe on the used market.
@@robotjeans Cool. I should have bought 3.

Just wow! Really enjoyed it!
John5 and Wes borland's playing sounds like EDM love it
It is impossible to deny this man's brilliance
Fantastic!!!
so many guitar gems just by watching him play
He's really got his own unique style and sound. You know it's John 5 as soon as you hear him. That tele is cool AF too.
This was really cool to see the techniques that you use for your unusual sounds. Absolutely awesome 🤘✌️🇺🇲
INCREDIBLE player
The incredible John 5!
John5 is one of the greatest alive today.
Omg!! Just googled some new videos of John, and here it is, 10 mins ago!!!
Amazing, outwordly, just cool ❤❤❤❤
i THINK HE IS PLAYING ALONG WITH THE ALBUM TRACK AND IS SO PERFECT THAT YOU HAVE TO LISTEN FOR THE SUPER SLIGHT DIFFERENCES. tHAT SWEEP IS SUPER CLEAN!
Incredible 😮
Definitely becoming my favorite player.
Pretty sick sounds!
I want a John 5 tele so bad! The ultimate guitar!
Everything I want to hear come out of a guitar. Johnny 5 👍
John 5 - офигенно крутой чувак!
Incredible
He's just an all-around awesome entertainer/musician. Motley doesn't deserve him.
That riff is sick 🤘!!
When, 20yrs ago some friend of mine said the guitar player for MM was launching a solo album I laughed, cause I only knew his work with him... Later on I realized he his probably one of the top 5 guitar players (in this genre)
This is si k!!!! Love it!!!
Amazing
Thanks to him I finally tried playing a Telecaster then switched to it from Ibanez. Telecasters feel and sound great

Perfect description of him lol
Not bad. Definitely not in the same class as EVH👊🏻
Nope 2:17
@@genefletcher7677evh is boring
Wow. U can see he has absolute perfect technique.
Best use of a kill switch that I've seen
*Buckethead has joined the chat*

That's a sick guitar! Makes the Telecaster badass lol!
Dudes sick i love it
such a savage on the strings
Anyone else hear a little nod to Satch Boogie in there around the neighborhood of the bridge? Or is it just me?
Bello/Magnifico.💥💥💥💥💥💥💨

John 5 is God 🎸
John is definitly a true and complete guitar god ! The cover of Les Paul's and Mary Ford's "How high the Moon" kills !!!
his control, with that much of a floppy pick sticking out is blowing my mind right now
John 5 is the best
That rocks!
I’m usually not a fan of this style, but holy fuck he’s way better than anyone else I’ve seen do this kind of playing 😂 this is sick
he has an amazing in the room sound. never get my katana to sound like that
Just WOW!
I love that he's honoring Buckethead with his Signature Tele. BUCKETBOTS FOREVER!
Bucket Head couldn’t clean his shoes
Absolutely wooow😮❤
I normally think signature guitars are stupid but that tele is actually sick and I kind of want one
A new kinda cool
💪😎🤘
John 5 could be the worlds best metal instrumentalist the bands he’s been in just hold him back he’s to damn good
Respect 😮

Hahahaha, WOW!! Beast player... super nice guy.... Detroit boy, what'd you expect, hey?!
Beast.
This guy is crazy good and he seems like a nice person too. I have no idea what he was doing with Mason; I am glad he is in a better place now.

Way to good to be playing with Motley Crue!
Insane
Ansioso por um novo álbum
Jon 5 & Wolfgang should jam ,,,it would be very interesting
We need one for Land of the Misfit Toys!!
Fvcking badass!!
So gd good
Dope af
Fkg legend .. always be .. 🤘😎
One day, with a lot of practice, John 5 might be as good as Lil Wayne on the guitar.
The man knows.
I slowed this on Marty’s slow rider app. It’s still hard lol but my fingers are stretching so Viking death March got easier thx mr John
Would love to see his solo show. Not tied to Motley Crue stuff.
I can totally see Wesley Snipes as Blade killing vampires to this track.
🔥🔥🔥
🤘😎🤘🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥
this is so fucking sick
O melhor no estilo , engole o tom morello facilmente , não é só barulho como esse , e sim , técnica , melodia e fundamento.
I wonder how many packs a day his guitar smokes? F'N Mad Lad.
This is a neoclassical boss battle theme music
Has kinda the same vibe with Polyphias's GOAT
JOHN FIVE .............WICK 😁😊😃
Hell yea
🔥
I kinda really want that Tele
