    We have relatively frequent power outages, due to wind, rain, aging power company equipment spontaneously blowing up, a drunk hitting a power pole ...... The last time we had a 24+ hour outage I had to run around town looking for dry ice to keep the food in our fridge from spoiling. We picked up one of these generators and now don't have to worry about it. Peace of mind is great!

    I have the 1250 watt Wen as a backup to my backup to my propane generator. I have used many generators and I am pretty happy with this one. The price was right, Wen has decent support and 1000 watts continuous is enough to run what I need.

    Appliances draw a lot of power, make sure your power strip is rated to handle the load!

    Great info, thanks for sharing. I hope I don't have to use it since hurricane season is almost over, but it's great to know for next year.

    One thing about running cords all over the house I hate is its allways a pain n the ass to roll all them back up. My generator is a 9400 watt and to run everything in the house is a lot of work during and after a power outage LOL

      I hear ya, we just installed a transfer switch so we can power the house without having to deal with that. I’ll have a video about it posted up soon.

    Living n Canada I am interested in powering my furnace in an outage. Any help there?

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to figure out the draw of the furnace. I'm guessing it's quite a lot, possibly even 220.

    • @MichaelSoulier32Pens
      @MichaelSoulier32Pens 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoItYourselfDad I would also need to figure out how to plug it in. It's tied into my house power right now, with no ability to run an extension cord to it.

      @DoItYourselfDad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MichaelSoulier32Pens Would you be able to run space heaters? I'm guessing a furnace of that size would need a huge generator to be able to power it.

    • @MichaelSoulier32Pens
      @MichaelSoulier32Pens 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoItYourselfDad not really. Just the electric igniter and the fan. It's natural gas otherwise.

    • @DoItYourselfDad
      @DoItYourselfDad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I was confused, though the heating elements were electric too. Probably the easiest way to do this is to have an interlock wired into your panel and have the heaters circuit part of the included circuits on the interlock.

    P.S. Why does it look like this was filmed on a flip phone?
