Hose Reel Crank Handle Replaced

The manual hand crank on my Suncast hose reel broke off and I found a low-cost solution to replace the broken crank.

Now that it's been close to a year, I'm curious. Did that PVC stump that you bolted on hold? I thought "that things going to snap off in the first three uses." I must admit. Hope I was wrong.

Love the MacGyver in you, but if @WilliamPowell is correct and it sells for $3, that would be funny. I need a Suncast handle that broke in two, but it's like an anodized aluminum, so I need to become a MacGyver also.

I needed this in kind of a hurry, so I made one from PVC. I eventually bought a replacement handle from Suncast for $10.39. Shipping cost more than the handle so I was going to buy 2 but it would have been over $20. Thanks for the comments.

These things are dogshit, the best you will do is 2 seasons before they break, plastic on moving parts or parts under a load DO NOT HOLD UP WELL, and the whole unit is made of plastic, sadly I speak from experience.
