Hello, It is is necessary to change the pump because the original pump is governed by the vacuum. And now with the turbo we have pressure. With the original pump you wil go in overdrive when you open the gass nozzle. Now it's a mechanical pump of a w123. It works to but is not realy economic :-)

And when using a pump out of W123, did you get the one which has an external oil connection? Or the later version which seems to require changing the intermediate shaft with a hollow one which supplies the oil? Thanks!

Hey!! From where did you get the oil for the turbo?
Mercedes use a mechanical oil pressure gauge, so you can tap into the line that runs to the dashboard. I believe its located next to the oil filter
