I have been using XDEEP NX Project since January 2017 with steel backplate, for both recreational and technical diving. And I would never change it for anything else.

Do you use the project wing on single tank? Or you switch to the zen wing?

@@rithychhean518 I have never used NX Project with single tank, but I suppose it is possible with some kind of adapter.

Good review! Can you confirm that the X deep wing can be used with a standard Backplate or does one have to use their special backplates only?

Can I use an Apeks wing on AN NX backplate?

I have gone from an older apex wing with a standard backplate to the NX project with stanless steel backplate and right away I noticed a major difference in trim, fit and finish, and over all comfort in the water. I am very glad I went this way and won't got back. Also the NX backplate is very comfortable. It's 8lbs compared to my old stainless steel backplate at 6lbs. I find the cylinders sit in a really good location and it is much easier to get in and out of. It was worth the upgrade.

I wouldn't think unobstructed airflow would matter all that much on an inflator/deflator. I'm sure the elbow will be more than adequate to allow all the air needed through it, especially considering it comes from a hose with a far smaller diameter.

hi. could you do a comparison between the xdeep zen standard and apeks wtx d30 psd with the standard harness? i‘m lost and don‘t know which one i should get.

I like the PSD coating over the standard cordura, but both are excellent wings. I like the skeletonized aluminium backplate of the XDeep, but I don't get why the stainless steel one is skeletonized. You're getting the aluminium one because it's lighter, so taking off excess material makes sense, but if you opt for the stainless steel one, you want the weight.
If you're considering the WTX D30 PSD, and not the regular WTX D30, I'd go with the Apeks. The PSD coating is obviously an important consideration for you, and the XDeep doesn't have it.
I have the WTX D40 PSD myself, and I love it. The reason I got the D40 PSD is because the Apeks wings were oddly priced in my LDS:
      D30: € 299.99
      D40: € 419.99
      D30 PSD: € 429.99
      D40 PSD: € 449.99 (you'd expect it to be € 549.99)
For only € 20 more, I'll go with the D40 PSD over the D30 PSD thank you very much. Or if you're looking at the D40, it's only € 30 more for the PSD coating.

I just can’t believe the price on these wings. Thinking about using a small tire inner tube instead.

Because of the fact that if you have multi stages cylinders it can stuck under some of them and become difficult to reach

WTX D45 wing with Apeks steel backplate and harness. Steel double 12s. Still need 4 kg on the belt or I float in my drysuit, so the lift is plenty.

Seems to me all the big name backplates have a slot on the bottom and possibly on the top. So, the X-Deep wing would be highly likely to be compatible with them anyway. That is, the wing and the backplate don't BOTH need slots -- at least one of the three holes on wing will line up with the slot on the backplate. I'd contend that's probably an advantage that the bolt going through the fabric hole can't wander -- less chance to damage the more delicate of the two materials.

    • @bloodymarvelous4790
      @bloodymarvelous4790 ปีที่แล้ว

You're going to be using two cylinder bands anyways, so that should keep the bolt from wandering. It that happens with your cylinder band, you've got other problems.

Thanks for review just got my into to tech learning twins using the 45 pounds sank like a stone (big guy) my instructor was about 75 lbs lighter than me was chest high out of water on 45 pounds. Please do reviews of regulators for use with twins the one manufacturer that has a set of regulators designed for twin cylinders seemed like the hose routing could of been better would like your thoughts of port placement on first stages thank you for helping me be a better diver
