Thank you Nothandi, for your effort in informing us about QS. I am currently in my third year, studying Bsc QS at Tuks, and this year has really given me a broader understanding of what a QS does. My story is very similar to yours, as I also wanted to study Architecture and leaned towards it in High school. However, having to do those assignments made me second guess and I applied to QS instead. My subjects at school were: Maths, Physical Science, Biology, and Consumer Studies. I am really glad I took Physics, but instead of Biology, I should have taken accounting as it would have really set a basis of understanding needed for QS. When I was halfway through my second year, I started doubting the career path, but I kept being patient with the process and today I'm very grateful that I did, as I now enjoy the third year and am looking forward to going to honors. So I just wanted to share my story because I relate with yours. Thank you again your channel is really well thought through and I'm sure it will help a lot of other people who are interested in this profession. Keep on going at it!
Thank you for sharing your story , I appreciate you taking the time! Yes, QS is a very broad career and sadly you can’t cover all the basics in High School because we have limited subject choices! But yes when you hold on you can actually get through it. All the best in your career journey 🧡

I'm honestly doing construction studies because I was out of options . I don't even know what I want to measure in ,like I'm the most confused human being! 😂
Is quantity surveying job is difficult ? I mean is it require more talent accuracy in terms of mathematics as qs will play with numbers? Please guide as I am a MBA qs student but I am founding it difficult lots of things are hard to understand. Can you help me please?
i don't know why most students who do quantity surveying get know about it in the evening hours of their high school days, if not latter. Well am one of the many that found ourselves doing it even in amidst of the surprise. Big thanks to you Nothando.
Hey ! I honestly do not know. With these two careers it really varies especially because you can have your own clients so you decide personally on your rates. When it comes to working for companies, they all vary and there are a lot of pieces to the puzzle.
