Though I’ve had difficulty warming up to a lot of this song, the parts where the pianos and keyboards come in just sound so heavenly to me ^^

I get some real Aquaria vibes from this track; I think I hear the main 12-note motif in it...EDIT: Upon looking into it, it seems that the same guy (Alec Holowka) composed the music for both games. Looks like I was more or less on the money.

They did use it for the sunken city stage In the game, so that definitely makes sense.
