I decided I wanted to watch Julia Child The French Chef PBS videos, and boy, was I not disappointed.I was 16 years old when this show debute, and thought who in the world was this funny talking women cooking and teaching others about French cooking? Well, I had no idea I was looking at one of the most visionary and gifted chefs of all times! This woman was phenomenal in the kitchen and especially during our time in history, which was filled with civil and political unrest! I could come home from school and watch Julia introduce the world to a new way of cooking while teaching us how to pronounce the cooking/baking process. I will now view all of her videos because I've *learned so much from this lovely woman. What a missed treasure.
    Thank you, Juila Child❤😊

It's sad how awful people are these days about cooking. About being respectful. About just being nice for niceness sake.
There were no rehearsals. This was done straight up live. One take, and right off the cuff.
Imagine if any of the modern, narcissistic boobs these days were under such performance rigers and Instructor stress.
These programs remind me of much simpler times. Of educated times. Of a time when there was a willingness to learn and improve for the simple satisfaction of Learning!

Let me add. I just love the rolling pin toss almost behind the shoulder into the garbage bin! I laughed my butt off and thought SNL should have used this as a skit! What a combo. Julia was classy and yet a hoot!😂

These are still the best after all of these years. There are a few decent cooking shows on PBS, but now cooking shows are more about entertainment, competition, or sensationalism. I remember it started with Emeril Live ....there was nothing to learn from that show...then it went all down hill from there.

I've never understood why Julia is always talked about (and portrayed in the Julia show on Max) as being overweight. I know she was a tall woman but personally I don't think she looks overweight at all. I love watching these and learning more about cooking.

I had to stop the video to take a second at her baking trays - I own 4 exactly like hers! The exact brand & even own two with the textured bottom (and two with smooth bottoms). I found mine about 12 yrs ago in a few different thrift stores as I was traveling (only paid 50¢ to $1 for each one)
