during the tear down noticed that you were just trowng the nuts and bolts into a bucket.i see this for 3 reasons. a) you dont care, 2, your getting new, or 3 youve done so many you know what bolt is for what hole lol. love the videos man, keep it up ur awesome
awesome video man!! I know it's old but I'm just getting started on the same kind of project, having worked for years on gassers only the walk through is well appreciated and I can see you have the knowledge.. Thanks!!
Great Vid!! The nice thing about buying the entire truck to get that Cummins is you've got all the brackets your gonna need for the a/c compressor and the alternator etc. That will save alot of time not having to fab a bunch of custom brackets. Is Black Betty gonna have A/C? Fummins.....Mind if I Smoke??
@WarWolfAngel001 The way I see it no question is stupid. Is what the KDP killer dowl pin does it lines up the gear cover to the block because the gear cover has got to be perfict for the proper gear lash on the injection pump and the vac pump. All in all it is a alignment pin.
@TheDieselStop I was wondering about that , had a friend that used his dad's truck to haul some stuff for a local farmer then got busted by the DOT for using farm diesel fuel in his truck, when he asked how they were able to tell the difference the DOT guy told him that it smoked more and had a color to it, i didn't know they even did that.
@TheTractorJake I guess that would work I never tried thoes. I have the nice caps that I have kept over the years that came off new or rebuilt pumps. I have about 50 of thoes caps and they fit alot of pumps and injectors.
@ledmondson7 I have done it so many times I can look at the bolt and know where it goes. I will show you guys how I deal with that when I put the motor back together.
@dawg1157 Watch the video on M&H inc. yes I will be posting a video on the install. You do need a pick to turn the star wheel. I went with the M5 fuel pin.
@thecopeinfidel45 Alot I am not sure lost count. I took 3 years of diesel after I got out of highschool and thats been 17 years ago. Thanks for the comment.
@TheDieselStop oh I see. that makes sense. thought it was something that randomly pops out and destroys the rest of the engine. but that makes sense to me know. just the name of it was making me think that. thanks man, now I understand
What size fuel pin did you decide to go with? Will you have to take apart the injection pump piece by piece to install the new parts? Does the star wheel twist by hand or with a tool of some sort? I'm interested to see how that works out for sure! Never seen the internal components of an injection pump before....
@hudsonjamesc Hobby now days. I dont like working on other peoples stuff just my own. I took 3 years of diesel 17 years ago and been doing this kinda stuff all my life.
Cool videos. I bought a first gen last year and the inlet/ outlet tubes have some gunk in them. What would be your suggestion on cleaning that stuff out?
@trbfshmn If I got to get that perfict with the camra I dought I would post videos at all. I have it set up on a Tripod to where it is fast and easy to move.
@roadkillrob1 Look up run away diesels on youtube. Rev till they blow with no way to shut them off. They will after it runs out of diesel it will run on the oil in the crank case. Very bad deal to have a run away.
@benpinter1988 I have seen alot of videos on the diesel's over there and you are not joking about that. Have you seen a channel called "darrenjlobb" ? He is from the United Kingdom and has alot of diesel car videos and he kills almost everyone of them for fun. He has a really cool channel that I like to watch.
stupid question... really really stupid but what did the killer dal pin (well I don't know how to spell it) do exactly? and why was it there? I know stupid question. I'm a stupid teenager.

Outstanding knowledge.... 16 minute vid felt like 5 minutes.
More more i need more. Gotta love the butterflies.
Hell Chief, I wouldn't care what those haters got to say, you just keep on with the videos, I think they're great.
@777worldliner I will be building that very soon be. Hang in there it is on the list.

You'll make it sound and look so easy man !
@daddytech Yep there is even a way to get the red dye out of it. Put it in a clear jug and let it set in the sun and the red dye goes away.
@somekid908 Thank you. It got totaled out. It only had 5 thousand miles on it when it happend.
@WarWolfAngel001 The way I see it no question is stupid. Is what the KDP killer dowl pin does it lines up the gear cover to the block because the gear cover has got to be perfict for the proper gear lash on the injection pump and the vac pump. All in all it is a alignment pin.
@Needmorehorsepower All the valve covers are the same and does not matter where they go.
Both good pumps but the p-pump is much better to get big fuel.
@ISUZU1987 Yep. Got to think fast and kill the air supply to the turbo fast. Thanks for the comment.
@roselle125 That is what was on the motor when I got it. I like Wix filters.
@customsport Sometimes I do. All of my videos just think......I do it all for you guys.

@erk409 I have one problem with that. There is a guy on youtube that did it to his chevy cummins. I want to do something that has not been done.
You really know your stuff ;)
@blazerlover25 If you want to find out you need to watch the video when I put it back together.
@75DieselDog Both trucks will tan truck and Black Betty will have AC.
@TheDieselStop oh I see. that makes sense. thought it was something that randomly pops out and destroys the rest of the engine. but that makes sense to me know. just the name of it was making me think that. thanks man, now I understand
Did you go to school for this or just experience . Thanks for sharing
@ShinraX2 You were correct on number 3 Thanks for the cool comment.

It was very clean in there are all those valve cover the same or do they have an order they go back on?
@ledmondson7 I was thinking the same thing. If I don't bag and label stuff, there would be left overs when things were done.... lol.
@hudsonjamesc Hobby now days. I dont like working on other peoples stuff just my own. I took 3 years of diesel 17 years ago and been doing this kinda stuff all my life.

@customsport LOL thanks I am uploading one more video for tonight or this morning what ever you want to call it.
Do you use fram filters the oil filters are all paper cheap low quality.I'm not sure about their fuel filter quality.Great videos,Thanks
looks so easy !!

@yourbeekeeper Thank you for the comment.
i wouldnt mind a cummins havin glow plugs becasue they r cold blooded if u forget to plug them in up here in the U.P winters
@trbfshmn If I got to get that perfict with the camra I dought I would post videos at all. I have it set up on a Tripod to where it is fast and easy to move.
@patwregan I will show you guys when I get it back from the mechine shop.
@roadkillrob1 Look up run away diesels on youtube. Rev till they blow with no way to shut them off. They will after it runs out of diesel it will run on the oil in the crank case. Very bad deal to have a run away.
is this your hobby or you do this for your profession? did you take some kind of classes to know what your doing?
@basborsboom Thank you.
@Matta212121 Trust me the black betty truck will be built.
is there a way to make those things not show the colored smoke when you run farm fuel in them ?
@josderedneck22 Thanks for the comment.
@farmall51 Yes I did 3 years at the start of all the madness.
@TheReal105MX oh okay. cool thanks man ^^ and alright
@kingkid123456789 LOL nope. Part 2 up will be live in a little bit.
Did you learn about these engines through a program, or just tinkering with them over the years?
Yes.
@foxdmulder It is my first day LOL joke...........Thanks for the cool comment.
@benpinter1988 I have seen alot of videos on the diesel's over there and you are not joking about that. Have you seen a channel called "darrenjlobb" ? how are you going to know what bolt goes where if u just throw them in a bucket?
I think it would be cool to paint this Cummins Chevy orange
Is the ve injection pump better than the p7100 performance and quality wise?
so much simpler than our over complicated diesel craps here in europe!
@customsport No time for facebook and no facebook account.
what do u mean by a run away
does the new cummins diesels have gride heaters as well? the 6.7L
how do you remember which bolts go where??
@somekid908 A ford for now.
were did you get a that little impact? i want one.
stupid question... really really stupid but what did the killer dal pin (well I don't know how to spell it) do exactly? and why was it there? I know stupid question. I'm a stupid teenager.
Is the pump on a 4BT similar. Im wanting to do a build up on one for a project and dont really have any experience with these.
Sure is
@jenkins80 Bead blast.
