Usually what works for you will work for me as well. If I get the chance I'll gladly try a Bauer 580, I still don't mind a 590 glove though. Keep up the good work bud, hope you'll have fun in Watertown !
I am still using a 600 aka the “second blocker” but I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a 580 so I can use it for the rest of my high school career because it looks so awesome and I’ve heard good things about it
Love how you shared all the positives and negatives for all the gear! One quick question too, what is the source for the music you use in your videos? I would love to know! Sounds good in the background of your videos!
My goalie coach introduced me to the 580 when I was in high-school (~2004) and I used it in college and then a couple sets while playing beer league. Not much has changed over the years. I remember leaving that back strap open when I was playing in highschool. It was a trend that was going around at the time but when I played college, the NCAA refs made me use the strap.
Hey trav I am in a 600 right now and I’ve heard good things about a 580 glove and I want to try it but I feel like if I switch over I might suck because I have used 600 for so long now
Hahahaha...I am one of those Squid "600" users, but I am impressed with this review and will be trying a 580 style glove the next time I am in the market. I am new to using Bauer gloves so I was not aware of the finger curl issue so thanks for that piece of info.
I dont get the 580 hype. Ive tried one of the vapor90s, since my backup used one last year. it was uncomfortable and just plain weird. couldnt catch for shit. I personally feel like vaughn has their gloves on lock. best glove in the world to me is the vaughn lt 98 (590 style break) but i know almost nobody agrees with me on that one.
I have only seen the finger curl issue on Vaughn gloves. Had multiple Bauer set even way back to the supreme one95 never had this issue, interesting analogy though.
@chuckjensen7333 nothing to do with me, it's a set from a pro that I got for free. It's also not the first Bauer 600 style break I've seen with this issue either.
Good solid review. I can only use a 90 degree break; otherwise, I feel uncomfortable and cannot catch effectively. So, it was between the Bauer 580 and the True 580. I opted for Bauer because True is the heaviest pro catcher out of the top six manufactures' top models (i.e. Bauer, True, Warrior, CCM, Brian's and Vaughn). Furthermore, the wrist mobility on the Bauer is markedly better than the True catcher as well. After wearing ultralight catchers like the Warrior G5 and the Bauer 580, you really notice just how heavy true trappers are when going back to demo one. Lefevre has improved the weight of its pads and blocker since partnering with True; however, the 580 trapper is as heavy as it ever was. I was told by Henry Breslin that the 90 degree break will be stock on either the Vapor Hyperlite 3, or the Supreme Mach 2, but not both. Bauer wants to have stock retail options for both break angels. The Bauer goalie powers that be have not decided which line the 90 degree break will be stock on and which line will remain in a stock 60 degree break angle. As always, either break angle can be done on either the Vapor or Supreme lines at the pro custom level.
Can you do a video about your Bauer hyperlite vs the warrior g6 vs the true l20.2?
Thats on my to do list! Pads ? glove or all of it ?
Why not pads? Thanks for everything you do!
“My mother always used to say: The older you get, the better you get, unless you’re a banana.”
Thats hilarious

I'll see you in watertown bro!
I just took a bit of skate lace and tied the straps together with a bit of slack. All the freedom and none of the strap flapping 😊
That could work but look sgreasy
@@trav4oilers very true but the best option I could come up with to keep it functional. I do hope that Bauer fixes it!

Ive beem wanting to do the same ha, but i dont really want to drop 600$
Same bruv I cant close my glove
You'll love it
Trav my man I’m a little late sorry brotha but honestly love the reviews and can’t wait to see ya in your jersey here shortly
Stay safe brotha
Love ya too buddy!
U hit the nail on the head about the short straps. Almost no adjustments available. My ccm had some adjustability on it. I wore it loose.
Doesn't really make sense but whatever lol
Always a good day when Trav uploads
Thanks for watching bro :)

I use epidemic sound for all my music
I’ll be getting my Vapor 90 as a Mach at the start of September, I think it will be a big upgrade from my stock Mach
Youll loev it man
Hey Trav, where did you get it customized for the double tee and extra foam? Looking for a 580 but with a double tee
custom retailer man!

weird how that works but you are a 580 OG
Squid checking in.
What up squid!
@@trav4oilers Just ordered my new set of EF6's, tried the 580, 581 and 590. Just didn't work for me. Stuck with the 600!
Squid gang for life! That Bauer 90 though has me curious though, the Lefevre 580 just didn’t feel right for me, need to give it another shot
it changed a lot with the bauer
good explanation guy!🤔
Why do you decided to play full right? Are you a lefty in everyday life?
Yo trav, you should do the same video but with the hype2lite pads vs 20.2 pads
Hey trav I am in a 600 right now and I’ve heard good things about a 580 glove and I want to try it but I feel like if I switch over I might suck because I have used 600 for so long now
Trav, should be headed south for camp soon, eh?
In about 4 weeks!
will it last a whole season if i do pro palm?
I guess I will find out soon haha
i love my 590 hyperlite and now if i want new bauer glove its going to be 580 bruh. so do i need to buy custom glove to get the 590 or what
How do I get my vapor 90 to be more flush to the ice when covering the puck?
Bauer has to fix it. I have the same problem!
I use a 600..true 12.2 for me as a baseball player.. its the best glove iv3 had
i have a bauer set and ordered a 590 glove, what’s a finger curl?
Fingers start to curl in on the glove, google it

Hey squid , now ya know

Try tieing the the loop and strap so it's not flapping around but still loose🙂
Will not make a difference, I tried
Vaughn 600 squid checking in 😂 580? I wouldn't even go back to 590
You gotta try!

it’s not for everyone i love it though
what Miami dog said!

I have an Ultrasonic set that would like to have a word with you haha.
@@tommywd40 what are you doing wrong? I’m still using the 2s pros and no issues.

Depending after a yearly review from everyone, wouldnt be surprised if supreme takes the 580 and not vapor
Def good hands in bauer rn
Or just get a 590 and call it a day :p
Nah bro!
590 will always be better. Sorry Trav!
nah
Personal preference but hey whatever works for you. I have tried both the 580, and 600 but always go back to the 590.
Trav the peasant lmao
Shhhhhh
