The battery tray in the Basscat is a bullet prof item. I have a 2006 Cougar no problems. The key is to put an extra jam nut under the flange and keep the single nut from loosening. Now, if your new batteries will not fit, that would be great to share on your rigging video.

Wow, brudda! Good for you! Is the reality of any of this starting to sink in yet (like being in the elite series, getting offers from sponsors, the extent of the Hangover sales, etc)? Since I started bass fishing in the early 90's, Bass Cats have always been my dream boat! Im a Merc guy but my tournament partner has a SHO on his Ranger and its a bad ass motor! Not to mention you can have the ECU remapped and get a bunch more HP's... congratulations you bettttt!

Great looking boat! Only thing I’m not a fan of is how far the trolling foot pedal is. Totally fine for offshore but when I’m skipping and pitching I like to be as far up as possible. That way I’m not smacking everything installed up front

17:00 My dad has a 1985 procraft that we fish tournaments out of every month. Try 25 gallons! lol. Always checking the tank cus the gas gauge is sketchy
I got to go out on a co workers 21 ft bass cat once on Kerr lake. that baby did 80 mph and thats the only speed he knew. my cheeks were flapping in the wind and tears out my eyes in july. lol. bass cats are awesome in my book. love your color scheme on it. Nice boat Ben, hope that yamaha treats you good. my dad had a 25 hp yamaha. thing was bullet proof.

I ended up buying a Phoenix a couple years ago but when I was looking these guys were definitely on the short list of boats I was considering. I was on Toledo Bend last year fishing with a buddy who bought a new Bass Cat and we ran across the lake in some extremely nasty waves and was impressed at how well it took it. But this day and age most of your major manufacturers boats are phenomenal and it basically comes down to layout of your compartments in my opinion.

Beautiful boat Ben, you'll be happy with that Yamaha, they're the only outboards we trust when running 30+ miles out into the ocean. Bass cats are phenomenal boats, they're a top tier company when it comes to quality and customer service, right up there with Ballistic and Gator Trax. @@victorrhone6785 thats a good motor then, not all Mercs are trash, not by any means. But, from a professional stand point, I've seen more issues with them than anything else over the years. When you get a good one, they're awesome though, maybe you got lucky.
I have one of the very first Pumas that came out in 04. Had problems with the hall they let me use it for a tournament season came out to Vegas picked it up and brought me a new one a few months later. I also agree with you on Mercury in my opinion they suck had a major problem with their motor took months to get it fixed ended up costing me $13,000. Bass Cat is a great family-owned and operated business so happy you're there with them. Also happy to see you with the Yamaha. Can't wait to follow you this season man you're going to do well ,, good luck to you brother.

@MilikenFishing FYI... you mentioned the access of the rear battery compartment and how its easily accessed from the rear... the whole lids remove for access from inside the boat

I was able to order 2 in fast sink. I think that’s the best option even for shallow water. I can see the Med/slow sink being an action issue reeling it in. Just for my personal preference in south Florida. I know I’m going to land a giant peacock bass on em

Wouldn't you want the gas tanks to evenly expel gas versus having uneven weight on back of boat? Or do you switch tanks back and forth as you go to keep weight even?
I run a Skeeter with 2 tanks and the switch has left and right or if left in center it draws evenly, not perfectly even which I'm sure due to uneven weight in the boat. It's cool because if you're fishing alone you can put more gas in the port tank to even out the ride or if your co angler is a big fella put a little more in the starboard tank, a gallon weighs a little over 8 pounds roughly.

Do you think there will be any handling issues with the dual tanks? If one tank is empty (or near empty) and the other is full, that's going to be a 240-lb weight differential all on one side of the boat. I guess they're below the waterline, so it wont be an issue most of the time, but up on plane, I wonder if there will be a noticeable change.
