People were telling Dana it was a bad idea for PR. He said when UFC was starting and no one would host them Trump called and said use my venues and that helped UFC get started. He said "I'm not gonna be there for this guy after what he did for me because some people will be upset? F#ck that." I respect them both for that. I have people I've made bonds with and friends and life moves on we don't have to speak everyday but every single time I can be I'm there and I always know it's coming I don't need to be asked it could be something as simple as a small tournament that somebody's playing in but I know it's important to them could be a funeral could be a wedding but we all live so far away and live different lives nobody would know I know but I promise you when they see my face come through the door or see me sitting in their corner like I used to...grown men crack a little bit very happy that somebody still not only cares but pays attention and will still go the extra mile to be in their corner The last time I showed up to a friend's event it was for him to tie the record with his idol in the sport I used to always sit in his corner and everybody else would try to get him a beer and I'd always bring him a water when he turned around that day and saw me sitting in the chair with the water he came right over gave me a big hug and said I knew you would be here it was a great moment for both of us... And just so I don't leave anybody hanging he won the tournament undefeated matched his idols record and did it with his own grandfather's equipment it was truly amazing I'll never forget 🥲💪♥️♥️♥️

Even though dana is a business genius and has made alot of decisions that improved the sport those same decisions were to the detriment of the fighters especially anyone who's not top 10. While the rebok deal helped the UFC substantially it also hurt the fighters that's not what I'd call looking afterbhis people unless the term doesn't include all the fighters.
