Ferreting is a dieing art, great to see there is still some lads at it. My uncle used to tell me about the guys that came over to the island I live on ferreting for the skins in the 60s and 70s. But after the ban on sales of fur in the UK it killed the ferreting and mole trade

I remember when I was about 13 I went to visit a friend who lived in the countryside and here dad took us rabbiting with ferrets.... it was really exciting and we had rabbit for dinner. I never knew that this was a thing... I remember we had to go back the next day to catch a ferret that decided it didn't want to come out. Apparently it was probably having baby rabbits for dinner. I did not find any of it traumatising, in fact it gave me respect for the job of farmers and land owners keeping pests under control. Im in Australia and the rabbits have a devastating impact on our land.

The nets catch 8 rabbits, the ferret scares the rabbits into the nets. If the ferret catches a rabbit, it eats the rabbit and goes to sleep down the hole, so if you want your ferret back, you gotta dig em up outta the rabbit hole. Ferrets are good at scarring rabbits into the nets.
Your ankle was almost broken because of rabbit holes. Rabbits are food. Good food. Even in America, there are meat rabbit farms. Your living of lambs harmed by , many rabbit holes, will be less now. Baked Rabbit, Rabbit stew with rabbit GRAVY will be delicious. Glad for your Ferret. Ferrets can even be pets, not for me, it maybe for you and your family.
Well let’s hope the rabbits have not been getting lessons from the homing pigeons. Tell dad those wessels are domestically bred polecats. Just after the war, we used to find the odd rabbit bone in the ‘chicken’ we were given, mind you that was much better than old tough cow beef.
