Fantastic job Alex! I had put the idea of putting some sort of horn solution for mine on the backburner as I am trying to get it roadworthy. I have been planning to use the horn button as an overdrive switch. Years ago I came across a guy on the forums who had a schematic for using a couple of relays to make a latching relay so you could use a momentary switch for the overdrive. If I can get my 3d printer working again, I may go with your very nice solution. Thanks!
@peteri9683 yes I have actually started an ebay store. Here is a link to version 2 of this solution. th-cam.com/video/3I-nS_qpFEE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eewGKza9aC5ZOOjM
Kewel! Just one question. It looks like maybe this apparatus causes the wheel to be closer to the driver. Is that true? If so, how much closer is it? Whoops, that’s 2 questions 🤷🏻
Nope, I checked that in my "so you want to buy a wood steering wheel " video. In that one I measured all the variables. However... When you do get a wood wheel, some come with an angle on the spokes that will make it closer th-cam.com/video/cupXmqfL07k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yDgMUrzcfAiGGE8X
great job - i ended up making something almost the same myself. But i used the flexible contact from and earlier model with the 3D ring.

Outstanding solution to your horn issue project.
Great Job Alex. I love your videos!
What a nice bit of engineering. I'd like to try this on my 1979 MGB. 😀 Are you still selling the 3D printed parts?
