iRacing - World of Outlaws Sprint Car racing from Eldora

- Dirt has come out on iRacing and today I run the 410 World of Outlaws Sprint Car at the famous Eldora Speedway in Ohio!
My first race out with this car after practicing for a few hours! These cars were not easy for me to drive but once you get the hang of it,it does get slightly easier but still tricky.

Swing that ass end around a little more. (but keep your traction) About lap 17, move the top wing back an inch or so. Increases traction on slippery tracks. The more you run on a track, the slicker it's gonna get. If you move the top wing back too far though, it has a reverse effect. It will slow you down. It's up to you to find that happy medium.
Congrats on 2nd !!!!!!!!!! Awesome run. I drove 410 sprint cars for 6 years (1994-2000) at my local clay track here in northern Washington.

Ahh. Okay. Maybe slide the wing forward a little then. Or maybe a little bit lower gear ? (higher the number for the shorter the track) You came in 2nd !!!!!!!!! So your set up isn't very far off. Also, if you're gaining ground on a car by running the high side....stay there !!!!!!! Not very often have I ever won races (on a real track or on a game) by running the inside line. That's usually for the rookies who haven't raced very much. Your RPM's sound good and high so I'm leaning towards sliding the top wing forward some.

Don't worry about the bumps. Just get around those cars. It's not NASCAR. The ass end MUST come out in the corners. You're pretty good on a dirt track. It just takes lots of practice. 😄

This track in real life is a blast. Make sure to grab a pizza steak.
You looked pretty smooth on the high side when you were allowed to run it lol that might be your calling in the WoO cars.

Don't forget your last lap. If you were gaining on a car and making ground by running the high side, keep doing it. This is how "best lap times" are made. ☺
You gotta send it in the corner.. you can run Eldora flat out no problem
as a dirt guy myself i notice all you asphalt guys not wanting to have the car sideways when it kicks out a little as it should in all your videos you breathe the throttle and let it straighten out. let the ass come around a little and stay in the throttle you will find the balance.
When you're just running and running and running but the car ahead of you isn't getting any closer......pull your top wing back about an inch. You'll start reeling him in.

10-4. Something to move the wing back and forth. Angle....not so much. I usually set mine about 20°-23° and call it good. When you slide your top wing back an inch or 2, sometimes that can mean the difference between 1st place and 15th place. SO not joking right now.
HOWEVER.........just like in the real ones, if you slide it back too far, it can make you slower. It's hit and miss. You just gotta play with it and keep practicing and keep racing. ☺
You gotta drag the brake to set the car into the corner. Dont let off the gas. Everytime I see someone race these I never see the brakes being touched. But good job though.

Your setup must be bad and there is a difference between that asphalt sprint cars and the dirt sprint cars

Nice to see sprints back on PS 4. I have a PC and PS 4. They had sprint car games on PS 2 and PS 3. The PS 4 is more casual gaming but fun too. Really though Dirt 4 and Project Cars seems just as real to iRacing to me. I did buy iRacing a few months ago moving my SR up. Almost out of rookie. There's only unofficial sprint car races for rookie class in iRacing

So confused as to why you are trying to drive it like an asphalt car..
Because that's how I drove it and well....it worked for me.
I think he drove it pretty good...for a person who has actually worked on these to be able to just drop in and not spin is good unless the game has some kind of stability management going on.
