A few months back Tim from Craft Life Brewing contacted me and told me about some issues he was having with another company in the area. He brought me in the projects they had and I repaired them and made them work once again! It got him back in business. But it wasn’t efficient, we had remedied a few of the issues his brewing system had, but not all of them. So today we wrap it up and weld the rest of the small items the brewery needed. Tim and his team have excellent beer! I encourage all of you to go check them out!
Here is his Facebook- / craftlifebrewing
and Instagram- www.instagram....
Here are a few tools I used in the video-
Hobart welding Helmet- amzn.to/3qo7dMv
Welding Gloves- amzn.to/32tYv7c
Empire Level - amzn.to/3HdX77A
Welding Jacket- amzn.to/3Jjh5Qv
I love when a customer is pumped when a plan comes together
*Would've been great opening shot if you had Tim hoist you up in the mash pot while you were tacking the 2nd set of stainless rollers under the aluminum gantry.*
Tim seems like such a chill and good dude 🤟🏻👌🏻Definitely a cool customer
What a nice client to work for, great job Tim the Beer Man!
Tims the man!
He does seem like an awesome dude.
So cool to see the customer working with you like that, makes me really hyped for what's coming after I get certified.
future reference, widow a/c's need some downgrade tilt to the back of the condenser end needs to be roughly .5-.75 degrees below the evaporator so the condensation can flow/run away from the structure and not pool up and overflow inside the building.
you can call em ''window shaker'' that how I name those lol..
I think some of the units have that slope built in to their drip tray, so if you install them level, they should have the drainage they need.
Future Tip, when Tim needs to add another beer cooler to expand: Go with a mini-split system: Considerable more efficient than a window AC unit.
@@guytech7310 Window units can be bought that are decently efficient. My window units are 11.2 EER rated and cost less than $250 each. My 25 year old house AC is SEER 8 and by going to window AC's, my bill dropped by over 50% in the 100+ degree summer in South Carolina. I keep it 68f minimum all year long as I have Nervous system damage that makes my body go crazy when I am hot. All of my units are around 5 years old except 1 that is 2 years old. If they ever fail, getting a replacement is cheap compared to having a mini split fixed/replaced. I have 3.5 Tons of total cooling between the 5 AC's, 1800 sq ft house.
I don't know what i've fed the algorithm, but i'm glad this got recommended.
Nice work young man. The only thing l would have done differently would be to put two flat bar or angle iron braces from the supporting shelf holding the A/C units back to the container wall at 45degreees. All the best to you for Christmas and 2022!
Love customers like Tim always makes it fun working for them.
He seemed like a very happy customer and will probably become a repeat customer. Great work . Love watching your videos . I do concrete and build pools . I have a shop I'm learning to weld in . I have a 240 Miller ac DC thunderbolt and a 120 mig /flux . I love the little tips and tricks you showcase . I learn alot by copying pros that's how I learned concrete. I'm learning alot by just observing your techniques . Thanks for taking the time to share your day with us
you both have such excitement for your passions!! what a pleasure to watch
Thanks so much!
Tim looks real happy! good job kid !
I’ve always been nervous about making the jump to go on my own but seeing your videos make me miss being mobile and you have inspired me to make the push. I hanks for your honest videos.
Good on ya for cleaning up the previous welder's substandard crap work and turning that into a functioning hoist! Really like your channel, Anthony.
Much respect for wearing a respirator!
That customer looks happy!
You two make a good team…👏👏👏
Very nicely done sir! Always nice seeing a welder who can think outside of the hood.
making me thirty looking at all that brewing......great stuff Mr Anthony......Merry Christmas , Paul
Once again a nice video! Only thing I would have done different is shield the isolation on the inside during welding, that stuff is dangerous when it catches a spark.
Your the man, look how happy Tim is
Great work, always pays to go that extra bit for your customers.
👍👍 fabricator here.....16yrs experience.. were only as good as the mistakes we learned from! keep on keeping on,,, "the only thing i would of done different " fuck that .. keep moving forward good job!
You're a good all around welder fabricator it's awesome to see someone doing honest videos man 😅
Tim seems a great guy
He 100% is
Great vid! He was stoked..
All I can say is your the man👍👍👍I’ve just watched this and now it’s 00.05 uk time happy Christmas and look forward to seeing more in the new year respect ✊ 👍👍
aye uk gang
Tim, I would suggest you add more insulation to those trailers to cut A/C costs. The blow-in will be OK for now, but another 4" or so of rockwool and some sheet Styrofoam would help a bunch.
Looks like Tim has 4" to 5" of closed cell sprayfoam installed which is probably about R-20 to R-25.
Killer video, must be awesome working with customers like that!
yes it is! Tim is great!
Tim is a hell of a nice guy
he is awesome!
the winch is pivoting because the lifting cable is not directly under the girder trolley, it's off to one side so it has no choice but to pivot. shift the winch over on the trolly and it will be all good
It wouldn't need the wheels if it was directly underneath the axle
It shouldnt be on a pivot at all, it should be directly bolted to the trolley
Nice job and the brewery owner keep the beer flowing
Slick idea lads. Well done. Wish you were closer to the north!
Impressive when you tacked the ac rack by yourself
Hey MMA. Nice to see a guy using a proper welding process! To many times lately I have seen videos with mobile welders plugging in their mig machines. Instead of running SMAW. Or a fluxcore process. I know you know but it sure seems there are quite a few who don't! Keep up your good ethics man! Happy welding from Northern Michigan.
Nice job. The only thing that should have been done differently is to include some degree of slope to the rear for the system to drain properly. Most of this info can be fount in the units owners manual.
Awesome videos
Dude you got the best welding/mobile welding youtube🤙🏽
Looks like a great day!
That's who I'm going with too is fireball tools, when I get further set up, looking forward to one those big vises in Aug.
The brewery owner sounds like John Goodman ^^
Bro i did my first weld today, i welded a fork standing up / it looked like magic when i was done lol. Thank you
Enjoy the video! Thought you were going to go live for min lol.
Tim is a cool guy
Welding And Beer 2 Of My Passions
To those who think the A/c unit is installed incorrectly
The outdoor (condenser) fan blade has a slinger ring around it that runs in the water
The slinger ring picks up the water and "slings" it onto the outside (condenser) coil to help cool the refrigerant
In humid weather you will sometimes hear the water hitting the condenser fan blades. This is normal
Bottom line the water evaporates without need for pitch or a drain
Except when it rains, or is humid out.
@@oldUmanUshea yeah without proper pitch the pan can fill up and leak inside
Some people can't fabricate... but when you show those welds a person really has to wonder what is it they can really do?
If you really want to do a solid. The winch drum needs to be centered under the trolley, and the support wheels should be centered on the beam. I can truly appreciate the guy wanting to get up and running... his own interests can sabotage his goal. Be the advisor. He brews beer. You work with metals and loads every day. Allow him to focus on the beer, and you take the lead on your side of the house. Brush up on your stainless welding, blending and polishing. I don't know your market, but I've done very well tending to the breweries. A trend I stumbled into when I was doing some structural stuff and noticed the quality issues the stainless crew was producing for a restaurant. I took over that job, then they knew guys starting or remodeling breweries and passed my name along. Up to 70% of my work is stainless. I cap it there because I feel that allows me to capitalize on the trend while not becoming exclusive to it. I'm old enough to know diversification is survival. When it slows down (and it will) I still have all my active contacts in structural, and equipment repair. I don't burn bridges, and I don't over commit to that 30% group. They know when I say I can do something I arrive on time.
This is what the 'welder' left. That was no welder sir hahaha
Tim is awesome
I would have used some urethane bushings and just a bolt through that with brackets because of the smoothness but 👍and I see that's what you ended up with
Good to see more small buisnesses in Hudson. Its definetly small town USA, but fishing was good . Apparently the beer too. Lol
Honest people get rehired. Keep it up. 👍
You're gonna be famous. In the Bay Area.
A couple tabs and bearing fix it up nice .
I said "should of went with heavy duty casters" lol it was a great idea. Love little things like this, this looked like it was a pretty cool job. Glad I found this channel. Still wish I lived in Florida. I wasn't too far from you, I don't think. I from DeLeon springs/ DeLand.
That was a proper video!
8:45 best kind of reaction
I would have just mounted the winches 90 degrees so the spool was center but either way great work!
Brewmaster are like farmers
Hard working jack of all trades
Man and beer sound good…😊
Great job 👏
Good job MMA, greetings from Clearwater
Hey, thanks!
Can’t wait 👍👍
Good work
Pours a beer for him self at the end of the video 😂 that that beer was gunna be for you Anthony
🤣🤣
You should make a bunch of keg buckets!
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
I use the same exact digital Empire level to build pressure vessels.
I like it a lot
Only thing I'd have done differently is include a 45ish degree tilt for proper drainage.
Yeah, he got ripped off with that original welder. Glad you could get him going.
He's drinking "Karen in the Hood" lmao
i hope to weld great as u and the people in the comments!!
Awesome 👍😎
i recon this the first timer i ever seen a welder wear a respirator
as soon as he bust out the tig I knew he was a good welder
Hudson once proclaimed itself the "Gopher Racing Capital of the World". In 1977, William Trippett raced his Gopher Tortoise, ST. Pete Flash, to victories in the 8-10 year old division and also in the overall division. It was the 2nd year in a row that St. Pete Flash had swept the races in Hudson during their July 4 celebration. He won the women's division and overall title for Donna Trippett in 1976.
Funny cause when you were putting those wheels on, i was thinking, may be best to go with the highest quality rollers, instead of those cheap ones. Gonna need replaced sooner
If /when you build a window frame for an A/C unit, Make it a few inches oversize in al directions. Your next A/C unit might be BIGGER. It's not hard to fill the gap around the edges.
it is nutty how similar you and peter caine (the dog training channel) look
cool vid keep em comin
Love it
I want a few kegs so bad to turn into bbq pits.
You don’t level the a/c. It has to have a pitch on the back so water will drain out. Omg bro.
Well I guess he hasn’t installed any so he doesn’t know of that. At least it’s not pitched toward the building.
oh dam owner told me level. make sense thou
@@MeltinMetalAnthony easy fix luckily, better call the good man
That is not always the case. Most spec for level. The drain pan has the required pitch for condensate to drain.
@@ShainAndrews not on a window unit. Idiot
a wheel wish it was a wheel a wheel!
The only thing I would have done different was just sit and drink the beer!
His voice reminds me of Sully from monsters Inc 😂
My man, AC's are not supposed to be level. You need a slight angle to help the condensate drip out. You may have done that if so, sorry. I didn't see it. Tim sure seems like a nice guy, then again, a guy who gets to play with Beer all day probably is in a good mood lol
That dude voice sounds exactly like Walter from big Lebowski
I like the wheels
When are you gonna get an LN-25? Way faster, easier for thick/thin and no rod bucket to carry around.
got one, only use it for long passes. way faster to pull a stinger out.
I like to read these comments they are equally entertaining
@MeltinMetalAnthony you ever heard or thought of using an 'air arc gouge' I think that's what it's called
what rod were you using on these? just curious I want to start into this business and have partially completed a certification but just want to learn from experienced people thanks
What are you using for rod on the ac brackets?
We’re you left handing a second filler rod on that first bracket?
How does a guy go about getting into your type of work
Thought you were moving to Montana what happened to that my brother?
Video editing lag
The A/C needs fall for the drain.
this guy reminds me of john goodman
Damm that trailblazer is loud
😂
Why didn't you support your AC support
👍👍
Is it possible to teach my self welding and make money from it in my garage having never tried before?
Of course. There is anything you ever wanted to learn right here on youtube.
Imagine wasting all that money on window style AC units instead of just using a mini split...
Or even an actual refrigeration system. Does he plan on keeping a box temp of 60?
I was wondering the same thing.
hi i live in morocco i am looking for a welder job
LOL...that fancy jig hole weldy table is just an expensive look et meh thing useless to the common guy. Gotta get what's hip & cool or else.....
you clearly have never used one. it is a very worth while tool if you fabricate
