Just love that sound of the John Deere starting up! Can never get tired of that. I work with a 7750 pro drive sometimes, good machine :) great video btw!
No WONDER it looked familiar ! As a 15 yr old Hereford High School CCF cadet, in 1957, we attended Castlemartin camp on nearby sloped fields very much like yours !! (I did not see the description).the name Balmesh has a very Irish sound to it (my ex's family come from Ballymacarbra in Cork ! Beautiful landscapes in your part of Wales, though the tanks ripped up the Castlemartin site !
Your comment on the name "Balmesh" is very perceptive. It is the name of a farm in SW Scotland where lived a few years back. The "Bal" bit means township, I was told, as in Ballymena. It is true that Balmesh used to be a "Lachan" or family township.
Forgot to mention that I have been in North America for the past 50 years, a Canadian citizen who often crossed the vast Prairies of wheat between Winnipeg and Calgary. Have lived in mountainous Vermont since 1984.
Have you seen the new grassmen DVD Alan? The classic masseys whole crop was lifted literally right beside me and I never got to see it! Must of been away - missed my chance of being in the DVD too lol
Nice video mate. that lad nearly got flatted twice the trouble with some operators they don't look before moving that's how people an kids are killed on farms
2fast945 you guys are talking about the operator making the mistake?!?! it’s the idiot who thought “hey i’ll walk infront of this 30000lb chopper, it’ll stop for me”
No, haven't. Seems a bit pointless to buy grass videos when I spend most of the day making them myself! From what I have seen of the trailers, it all seems a bit "set up".
That kid is determined to get in the way and get run over. Needs a good bollocking and telling that you need to have eye contact with the driver before going anywhere near a moving vehicle or crossing in front of it's path if stationary. It is true that drivers can become complacent, but those on the ground need to understand that if an operator can not see you he doesn't know your there. You soon learn though once you've had a near fatal near miss although at times it isn't a near miss. I'm guessing that this young lad isn't regularly doing this and is a bit to enthusiastic. So in reality it does come down to the operators to give him some guidance in staying alive.
Very nice video. I wish I could find 'whole crop silage' in my neighbourhood, looks awesome to watch :)

I really enjoyed this video!! Never seen this before!!
Great video Alan, nice whole crop silage.
Great video plenty of hp 👍
Thanks 👍
Nicely done guys!
Excellent video Alan.
Never seen whole crop in my area.
Thanks Michael. Depends - if tractor is a long way from home it stays. If it's handy the yard it'll nip back and get a trailer.
Great video.
Many thanks!
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it.

Another great video!
Thanks very much.
Yes, true. I got a little video of one, last year. Beautiful beast!
Thanks Ben. I really enjoyed it there.
Nice video!
Thank you, Andrew.
Thank you.
Great video and something different. Forager manages a good speed so assuming although a taller crop, density less than grass.
Thanks Hendrik. I suppose that's because Maize is so successful in Holland.
Hi Alan Awesome Video!!!

Thanks Sebastian.

Great video, chopper driver nearly ran over that lad at the start
DanLewisIH&JD Yes, it was an interesting moment!
+DanLewisIH&JD almost ran him over when he was unstrapping the header too!!
It's a big header - 22' I think.
Thanks George - I'm not complaining . .
cool seeing 7850 with no atachment
Great video, that header trailer is quite long!
Great video! Is the tractor on the header trailers, always on the header trailer or did it pick up a silage trailer at any stage?
Thanks Fergie.
Than you could say:Maize is a kind of whole crop.
quality video
Nice sound
It's very interesting,
Where was this ? Reminded me of Ireland.
The description tells you where it was - Carmarthen, Wales. (which is very like Co.Cork)
I suppose that's true! What do you mean set up?
Can you do this with fescue grass? Moisture?
What crop is this and what moisture? Can you whole crop it before it starts to head out?
Josh, I am a photographer. Read the description and you know all I know - it was three years ago!
what is the cutting head on the front what brand ?
Sorry, no idea.
which one sells beater, grass silage or corn silage?
beater?
Ever see anybody use this method for grass?
Nice video mate. that lad nearly got flatted twice the trouble with some operators they don't look before moving that's how people an kids are killed on farms
You're right.
Yup, that harvester "operator" is exactly who I don't want on my farm. Huge liability, ends up costing more because he's careless. You're fired.

That "kid" was one of the tractor drivers.
