Thank you for your video. I currently have my BSN and work as adjunct faculty as a Clinical Instructor. Last week I applied for graduate school for nursing education. Your video has helped ease my anxiety.
I started out working in the skills lab just to get a feel for things. I loved it so much that I went back to school to get my MSN-Ed so I could lecture/teach full time. The struggle is the pay but I find so much fulfillment in it, that’s my struggle.
Omg thank you thank you for making this video! I have been a bedside nurse for 9 years and finally pursuing my dream of being a nurse educator at a university. I am very excited but sooooo nervous and have been trying to find more info on TH-cam as I prepare but not finding many! I came across your video and it was so informative and motivating. Thank you so much! 🙏
Thank you for sharing your experience. This video is exactly what I needed to come across, as I am currently looking into becoming a nurse educator. I found myself questioning if this is something that I can achieve. I assumed that I had to be a perfectionist from the jump, but you gave me all the confirmation and insights that I needed to hear. You're truly a blessing. Thank you :)
Thank you so much for making these amazing videos! Talking about vulnerabilities and struggles is JUST as important as talking about the positives! I’m doing my nurse educator practicum this semester - and public speaking is something I’m feeling anxious about, but your videos help to remind me that I’m not the only one, and that it will get better!
Thank you for this video! I’ve been working bedside on a inpatient psych floor for the past 3 years and just completed my bsn. I’ve been thinking about going back for my msn in education but have felt a little hesitant/nervous that because I don’t have med floor experience that I wouldn’t really have a place to teach on a collegiate level. This gives me hope.
I loved watching your video. Very inspiring!! I have my MSN in nursing education. Currently working as a bedside nurse plus PRN clinical nurse educator. I want to pursue a Ph.D. in Nursing, but it is a difficult decision to make because of the pay cut, and probably I cannot work much while I am in a Ph.D. program. Your video encouraged me to go for my dream because many attractive parts exist, although there are many challenges.
Hello mam , myself Christopher, I have completed my msc nursing and having 3 years teaching experience. I also want to be a nurse educator in UK. What to do for it
Fulfilling the desperate need to become an educator is NOT reason enough to become faculty! That is so insanely unhealthy to say that! Co dependency at its finest. Just because someone needs you is not a good reason to follow suit! Sheesh! Plenty of professions need people! And I’m a nurse! I stand with nurses. That was upsetting to hear.
Frist of all thank you so much for video I need help please 😭 Im an international student have a bachelor degree in nursing graduate with high honor working for one year as a stuff And becoming a nurse professor at university is really my biggest dream in line could you tell me please wich program should i enroll in im planning to get master abroad help me please
There are so many options, but a DNP will allow you to teach with a Doctorate. Teaching as an adjunct or affiliate could help get your foot in the door. Many nurse faculty feel you should have your PhD, but 60% of DNPs go into education because it is a Doctorate and there is high need for educators. I think international is helpful because it adds diversity which is desired. Good luck 🍀!
