    Pretty long-time binge-watcher, first time caller. LOVE your videos, Hannah! ❤ I've been using YNAB since April and you're one of my very favorite things about my very favorite app! (HOW did I survive without you and YNAB? 🤔) Thank you very much for the tips! I wasn't 100% sure I knew what I was doing at the end of the month, but now I can sally forth (sully forth? I dunno - somethin' forth) with CONFIDENCE! 💪

    One thing I have added to my EoM Rollover is banking my true expenses once over spending is accounted for. So if I added $12 to the vet bill fund, $100 to the vacation fund and $88 to the professional expenses fund, I just slip $200 into my savings account to make a little interest. It is less likely to be spent when it is in savings. And then, when the vet bill comes due, I just take it from savings and it is no problem at all.

    • @woo545
      @woo545 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Changing last month after you started paying this month, you can end up with a negative value in your Ready to Budget category. Then you need to shuffle money around to get rid of the red.

    Hey Hannah! I've been taking care of my wish farm and been able to see some come to fruit! This may seem like a silly question but how do you handle those wishes? Do you just put them in hidden or do you rename them to new wishes and adjust those goals?
    Thanks for the help!

    • @sarahoswald9984
      @sarahoswald9984 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Congrats on making those wishes come true! Something I learned from another YNABer was to create a folder called "Wishes Granted" and then once something has been funded in your wish farm, you move it there. It's exciting and motivating to look back and see all the wishes you've turned into reality.

    • @jorgilusty
      @jorgilusty 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hannah made a video called “My Trick to Buying Everything on My Wish List” and mentioned one thing you can do is to use hashtags in the notes section like #wishfarm and name what the item was so that way you can sort of track what wishes “came true.” Then you just delete the wish and roll it into another category (I just roll my wishes into my discretionary spending category) but that way you can still filter what goals you have achieved!

    Maybe I am doing something wrong but I have lots of extra money in alot of the categories so I could not imagine ever having any overspending. I feel like it gives peace of mind. Well, categories for fixed bills that cost exact same amount each month have the exact amount needed fot the bill but any category that is variable I always put more than I spend just in case. I have never had red overspending so does that mean I am not really taking advantage of ynab?

    • @anditippie5923
      @anditippie5923 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It means that you are fortunate enough not to have to worry about overspending! That’s wonderful! But now you get to figure out what to do with your money and what’s important to you. That to me is one of the other really big benefits of YNAB.❤

    • @Baoran
      @Baoran หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anditippie5923 It was more about if it was wrong to save extra money into categories more than you spend for things are in that category instead of having some kind of special category where you put your extra money into. It feels like I am not giving all the money a job if I put more into a category than I am going to spend.

    All this talk of determining whether something has cleared at the bank is very far from the original simple concept of YNAB!

    • @StephenZipprich

    I have an issue with the past month! My credit card closes on 27th and when I tried to pay it in full I still had all the expenses from the 28th until 31st and it looked like I had a debt pending and it totally screwed my next month. How would i fix it?

    • @Schrodingers_Kat
      @Schrodingers_Kat 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Nothing happens. It will just stay yellow as debt into the next month. Which is fair. Mine is paid on the 15th. That number doesn’t really reflect only the current month until I’ve paid up the last month balance in the 15th. And that’s ok.

    I sometimes just wait to assign anything to next month until the first. Took me a minute to realize that "overspent" on mortgage that first morning is fine-- since I really do have that money sitting in my next month category! 😅 And the bank doesn't need to know what category it started the day in 🤫

      Honestly, if you import transactions and approve them a lot (like, a couple times a day) there’s not a lot of need to reconcile
