- I bought this axe for $2. An hour of work, and it is back to like new condition, or at least as close as it can get. Don't just stick extra nails and wedges in a loose axe handle, take a little time, and fix the handle correctly.

I've done about 20 axe restorations and watched hours and hours of other guys doing the same, but this one you did has been the most well articulated one so far. I'm certainly going to replicate your way of doing an axe. Thank you for passing on what your Dad and Grandpa thought you.
Brilliant job on this, so nice to see someone do it "properly"! Removing and reusing the old haft, no chemical treatment on the head, and then a perfect rehang and wedge job! Great work 🤝🏻
Thanks! It's a learning process. Some of my previous restorations and fixes haven't gone so well. This one turned out pretty nice.

Nicely done, like someone already stated, it is nice to see someone actually showing how it should be done.
Put the wax on and rub it in with your hand. The heat from your hand will soak it in. Or you can hit it with the heat gun while the wax is on the handle.
Awesome job! I am a boiled linseed oil guy as well but the axe wax seemed to do the job. Did you do anything to protect the metal?
I usually wipe whatever I am putting on the handle on the head too. Or WD-40, or 3-in-1 oil. Nothing fancy.
You should of soaked the top of the handle on blo before you set the head
