As a Bayern Fan, its so tragic that he wasted his young years at FC Bayern Munich. Bayern was always so poor in the Champions League and didn’t had a top class team ( Too many average or old players ). He would won another CL Trophy. Varu 1985 Yes he was maybe the best Bayern player when he was there. Lucio was so important because Bayern lacked a strong central defense ( Owen Hagreaves was good but he was often injured and not the best defensive player in the World. I am sorry but Van Buyten and Demichelis were a joke, even though I liked them. I still can’t believe how Van Gaal transformed both of them into a CL Final Center Back Pair. Oliver Kahn became older but he was still one of the best Goalie in the World. Lahm, Lizarazu and Sagnol were Fullbacks and Lizarazu became old and Lahm lacked experience. He became worldclass in 2010. In 2008 he was one of the best 5 Fullbacks but everything was to late for Lucio 😪. Bayern became a top side after he left ).

God i loved how he interpreted his role. A aggressive fighter in the back with a incredible drive to hold back the opponents strikers. Then out of nowhere....he would evolve into a Libero....running upfront like a berserk assisting the offense. He was so charismatic that people pinpointed every little mistake he made. His bravery going into the battle sometimes lead to goals....but he hardly made any mistakes and people got so used to it that when he did fail....people were over critical, trying to tame his way of playing. But Lucio never changed....a incredible center back. No matter where he played....he was the prototype Brazilian workd class defender....not many reached such a high level. Thiago Silva, Adriano, Julio Cesar....

Algo que casi nadie sabe de Lucio, es que fue descubierto tras un partido de Internacional vs Guara de Brasilia por la Copa do Brasil en el 97, y el Inter le ganó 7 a 0 al Guara, y lo mas loco es que Lucio jugando para el Guara, fue el mejor jugador de ellos y el Inter lo contrató. Oh dear, I was a teenager who knew nothing about football other than the 2Rs. Dad kept telling me that Lucio was a weird defender who scores from freekick before he established himself as a starting member in Brazil. After waiting 5 years for Raphinha to score a freekick for Brazil in 2024, I came back to see it myself. Indeed, Lucio's freekick skills would have made it to top 3 in present day Brazil, which speaks of how pathetic this Brazil is in terms of freekick.
