Since the cause for hypertension in a tachycardic patient (rate over 150) is usually that the ventricles don’t have time to completely fill up. Therefore, the best solution would be to slow the heart down with either medication (adenosine) or synchronized cardioversion. If that isn’t possible, then you could consider fluids or a vasopressor to help constrict the vessels. Be certain to check lung sounds before administering fluids!
