Day 141 I LIKED 1. @ 16:11 'There is the gift called the fear of the Lord. We pray for the love of the God and for the fear of the Lord' . RFLT - Thank you Fr. Mike for presenting this session on the Last Judgment. So many of my personal apprehensions on this topic has been comfortably clarified. And the derivation beginning with @ 01:29 on 'particular judgment' and ending with @15:18 'cultivate a healthy fear of the Lord' is simply marvelous, worth sharing with thousands and thousands across the world. Fr. Mike, such a powerful day. In raising our teenagers, broadly speaking, your message today showed me how moms and dads are witnesses of this Love of the Lord and Fear of the Lord and how we need both. It can't be all love or all fear. Thank you so much!
I am old enough to remember Jim and Tammy Baker quite well. Mother Angelica was on their program a few times in the beginning. ~~~ Lord, please help me to love You and fear You according to Your Holy Will. Amen.
Even if someone is stuck at home, there are many opportunities to fight against the evil in our world, rosaries, chaplets, novenas, interceding for others, signing petitions against morally wrong things going on in the world, it DOES make a difference. Do not be afraid to speak for Jesus, we are his hands and feet. May our merciful Lord be merciful to all of us! Please convert me totally to you oh Lord..and all of us here. Thanks and prayers for CIY and Fr. Schmitz! ❤Let me never offend you anymore!
I can honestly say the last few weeks have been a struggle for me. I've realized I'm so, so far away from where I should be in my relationship with the Lord and with others, and it's made me shy away from Him when I know I need to draw nearer. But I am still here, and I know it's thanks to His abundant grace and the prayers of this community. I cannot thank you all enough. I will continue to pray for you all. God bless.
That's a holy fear of God right there 😊, don't be discouraged sister we all feel like this from time to time.. Fr Mike speaks of the ideal for us to strive for in the Catechism which is beautiful , God knows we are sinners or we wouldn't have been given the sacraments of reconciliation and Eucharist to strengthen and renew us on the battle field..never be discouraged, only encouraged,, you love and fear God, and have the grace to recognise there's room for improvement .. what a blessing really , I'm sure God wants you to lean on His great love for you more than the fear you have for your shortcomings.. God bless sister 🙏
We're all at war with the world, the flesh, the devil. We win battles with God's grace through, prayer, fasting, the sacraments. And we lose battles. Don't give in the discouragement. Jesus suffered and died for you personally. Prayers from the Philippines ...
Sin is like a pebble cast into a pond; it starts out with tiny ripple but soon the waves reaches all the way to the shore. I’m praying for everyone on this journey and on the journey of the Bible in a Year. May God bless us all and especially Father Mike and all those who are shepherds of our Father’s flock. 🙏🏻❤️
Oh boy ! Don’t like to think of everyone knowing all my sins, so ashamed, but I know Gods justice and His love will be with me and yes there will be no pride, only love! Holy Spirit help me to understand, I have a healthy fear of the Lord !❤
My husband was raised Baptist, and he never heard anything about our sins being made public at the Last Judgement. Where is that in the Bible? Do the words “laid bare” mean between God & me, or revealed before all creation?
Fear and love are connected! When we truly love someone, we fear to disappoint or offend them, even accidentally. When we love someone we have awe and reverence for them.
Yes. In yesterday's episode, we learnt, “we cannot love God if we sin gravely against Him, against our neighbor, or against ourselves.” (CCC, 1033) Fear might exclude love. But love includes fear, the healthy good fear.
Excellent ability to pick out or bring attention to the very most important teaching of each day. Hitting the mark over and over again, what a gift you have Fr.Mike. Thank God for your perception and insight. Hold on to the fear of the Lord, wise message.

Amen!🙏❤️Jackie, did you know that Jim Baker, after he got out of prison, remarried & started a new ministry? While I was still a Protestant I ran across his broadcast on one of the Christian channels years ago. His new wife was definitely no Tammy Faye.😅 He looked like he was trying to make amends for all the damage he caused. The fear of the Lord is one of the gifts I pray earnestly for. Once again, when I was a Protestant, it was too easy to treat God too familiarly & without the respect due to Almighty God. Partly because of the practice of extemporaneous prayer, Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi, we spoke too casually to God which would often lead to speaking too about God.
“I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
Thank you, Father Mike. Today's podcast really moved me. I burst into tears when you spoke about Jimmy Baker: "I never fell out of love with Jesus. What I didn't do, what I lost is the fear of the Lord." So powerful. I'm learning so much with your daily CIY podcast, more than I could ever imagine. You are such a blessing to all of us. I'm praying for you and everyone in the CIY group. 🙏🙏

Father, may everything that I do this day, whether it be full of joy or pain, whether it be full of love or of grief, I ask that everything I go through today be offered to you just like Jesus offered everything to you. It is in his name we pray. Amen. 5/21/2023
Father Mike, I'm enjoying this enlightening, often uncomfortable and emotionally intense journey. Thank you for helping us navigate and dive more deeply into our Faith and understanding of Catholicism. What a gift.
Oh yes! The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom. So help us, Lord. Bless you, Father Mike, for another impacting teaching. God be with all of us. Amen.
Thank you Fr Mike. This has been a wonderful journey not just for me, but for everyone listening to this. May God grant all of us the grace to be repentant. You are in my prayers every single day. God bless you.
Thank you Father Mike, and every member of CIY. May Almighty God grant us all the grace we need to do His Will. Especially, for love and fear of the Lord. Please pray for my family and I. God bless and keep us.❤
TBH, I've been a little nervous about the topics we've been discussing the last day or so. I understand that we're all going to die at some point, but it's the fear of the unknown factors afterwards that has me worked up. Please pray for me.
Thank you so much Father Mike and the entire Ascension team❤️. You're doing this wonderful job. You've touched so many of us. I want more of the Lord each and everyday I listen in. You've helped me understand my faith and all I can say is I keep falling in love with being Catholic every day. Much love from Uganda. I pray that many people jump onto this train and that God blesses y'all so that you continue to reach out to the masses.
Day 141 - the Last Judgement The Last Judgement will reveal even to it's farthest consequences the good each person has done or failed to do during his early life The decisions that I make now can affect ppl for generations 😮 *The good I do today has consequences far beyond today and the sin I do today has consequences far beyond today* There is no such thing as private virtue and no such thing as private sin. It affects others
Day 141..! The Last Judgment..! Oh my.. this day was PACKED..! I can’t even comprehend it all..! 😱😱😱 I am going to have to listen again..! Fear of the Lord..! Do we ‘fear’ Him enough..!? I CANNOT WAIT to hear you tomorrow. I am praying for all of you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Please pray for me. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻God bless. ❤❤❤
Sweet Angel by our side, Thou comest from heaven; God has sent thee to take care of us. Oh, shelter us under thy wings. Lighten our path, direct our steps. Do not leave us , stay quite near us and defend us against the spirit of evil. But above all come to our help in the last struggle of our life. Deliver our soul so that with thee it may praise, love and contemplate the goodness of God forever and ever! Amen.
Since these subjects of Hell, the holy fear of God (one of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit), and Final Judgement seem so commonly dodged at the pulpits for fear of ruffling the feathers in the pews aka popularity, it's such a relief to hear this truth from a priest. Sure, we may know it and read about it; but it's authorized expression by a bona fide priest does so with the authority of Christ and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that originates with with Pentecost, the Holy Spirit coming upon the Apostles from whence their authority continued to spread through the popes, bishops, and priests.
At vigil Mass tonight one of the deacons gave the homily. I really enjoy when the deacons preach because they have well thought out & impactful homilies. He preached on the meaning of the Ascension, Christ’s command in Matthew to preach the gospel to all nations, & our responsibilities to this as laity. I wish the priests were this clear in their teaching.🙏❤️
Day 141 : The Last Judgement. I can not believe we are already on day 141. Thank you Father Mike Schmitz and Ascession Press. Viva Cristo Rey. God bless you all.
Amen call of that I want to have a healthy love and fear the Lord and give up all the fear and control that was put on me in the past in Jesus name I pray amen goodnight to all and sweet dreams thank you Father Mike for another good lesson today amen
The last judgement (day and hour known only to God ) consists of the sentence of happiness or condemnation which the Lord Jesus will issue in regard to the just and unjust. Lord, keep me on the path of salvation with love and fear of you. 🙏
Thank you Father Mike!❤ Heavenly Father, in glorifying Jesus and sending us your Spirit, You open the way to eternal life. May my sharing in this Gift increase my love and make my faith grow stronger. Send Your Spirit to cleanse my life so that the offering of myself to You at Mass may be pleasing to You. May my sharing in the Eucharist, our Bread of Life, bring me eternal life. Amen.❤🙏❤
Enjoy day 141.. I’m praying for everyone here .. also praying for everything that’s happening in this world , war .. fires in Canada .. and much more .. God bless you all ❤️🙏🏻🫂
Thank you Father Mike. This journey has been great for my growth has a Christian and increased my desire to become Catholic. I pray for you and all in the community for our salvetion. Thank you God for leading me here. May we have that love and fear of God in the Holy name of Jesus Amen!
@@andrewsmith5550 Just saw your post. I’m so happy for you! I’m a convert and, as such, I have a special love for people discerning & coming into the Church. I now sponsor people in RCIA & pray for everyone coming into the Church. I was praying for you!
I’m so grateful to be here at day 141 into CIY! Thank you Fr Mike for highlighting in charity the necessity of Love as well as (holy) Fear of the LORD. It went straight to my heart. Thank you for praying for me, I’m praying for you and your listeners.
May 21, 2023 Please pray for Souls in Purgatory. Go ahead, just take about 30 seconds to help save a soul that maybe is your family member or friend! Go forth and help save! Here is the prayer: (According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory.) The Prayer of St. Gertrude Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen. God would reply to St. Gertrude that He would use whatever was offered to Him for the faithful departed, according to His inclination to show pardon & mercy.
For those that believe in the Sacrament of Reconciliation may God allow you to confess your mortal and venial sins before your day of judgement where you will go head to head with the one AKA "The Accuser." I don't care if I sound like a broken record but Wear your Brown Scapular" a true client of Mary is blessed.
Fr Mike, it seems that regardless what BIAY day I listen to (Thank you BTW) it supplements CIY beautifully. It is not just the readings it is your prayers and analysis. That means we are in one giant think tank with you leading us accordingly. No pressure though🤣 but thanks, padre, you are helping us all. Both of your moms in heaven said to tell you thank you for the amazing mother's day gift(s). Think about it, you have achieved giving the Gift that keeps on giving. That is amazing. God bless you. For the intentions of Pope Francis, Fr Mike and all priests and religious that they may proclaim the Gospel in Truth through Christ Our Lord Amen.
Amen!🙏❤️early this year I tried going through BIAY a 2nd time, but couldn’t keep it up, not that & everything else I was doing. 😮💨 I’ll have to do it next year, God willing.😅🙏❤️
@@TrixRN Same here.. I really wanted to do BIAY again, but I also want to put real time into the readings and also I enjoy commenting here (that takes a lot of time) 😊so I think I got to day 70 and just ran out of time. I wasn't able to actually "hear" what I was listening to... and couldn't keep it up... but hopefully will do it again when the time is right! I wonder what Father Mike will read next year??? St. Faustina's Diary? The Summa??? I hope this continues!!! If not, I will go back to BIAY full time!
@@sharonmiller9100 I’m doing St. Faustina’s Diary in a year right now & I already spend WAY too much time on YT. 😆I like to go through the comments especially here & it does take a lot of time! Lol😄I also use a video for the rosary, either Keith Nester’s or Bp. Barron’s. Then there’s all the teaching & uplifting videos I watch. I’m retired & disabled so have time, but try not to waste it just watching for entertainment.
Great reminder, are we really loving God? Is it love if we’re sinning against him? That may be just an emotional love, not actually showing the love for God by following his comments. We should definitely have fear of the Lord and fear of losing his friendship! Great and necessary reminder!
St Augustine recounts how this physician told him that when young, he began to doubt whether the soul, separated from the body, can see, hear, or understand anything. One day, while in this error, he fell asleep. Suddenly, a handsome young man appeared to him in his sleep and said: “Follow me.” The physician did so and his guide led him into a large and spacious field where, on one side he showed him incomparable beauties and on the other allowed him to hear a concert of delightful music. Then the physician awoke. Some time after, the same young man again appeared to him in sleep and asked: “Do you recognise me?” The physician answered that he did indeed recognise him distinctly, that it was he who had conducted him to the beautiful field where he had heard such pleasing music. “But how can you see and recognise me?” asked the youth. “Where are your eyes?” “My eyes,” he replied, “are in my body.” “And where is your body?” “My body is lying in my bed.” “And are your eyes open or closed?” “They are closed.” “If they are closed, they can see nothing. Admit, then, since you see me even with your eyes closed, recognise me distinctly and have heard the music, even though your senses slept, that the functions of the mind do not depend on the corporal senses and that the soul, even when separated from the body, can nevertheless see, hear, consider and understand. ” Then the sacred dream ended and the youth left the physician, who never after doubted this truth.” - St Augustine thank you for knocking, seeking and asking AND sharing it unabashedly with us. I ask your intercession for all of the CIY community for we, too, are knocking, seeking and asking through Christ Our Risen Lord. Amen ❤️🙏❤️
Day 9 Novena to St. Rita - Saint of the Impossible Prayer intentions: we will coordinate a Consecration to Jesus through Mary for the CIY online community, we will be steadfast in completing it, we will all grow in holiness. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Heavenly Father, you gave us St. Rita as an example of holiness and courage. She shared in Jesus’ passion when she received a wound on her head from the crown of thorns. Help us to be holy like St. Rita. We wish to be strengthened in difficult times so that we may understand the paschal mystery as St. Rita did. Holy St. Rita, although our faith often falters we have you as an example of a steadfast faith in God. Our faith is weak; help us to be full of faith like you. We believe in the Lord, God, and will try to live lives inspired by the gospel. St. Rita, you are the patron of the impossible. In our times of need and suffering we fly to you with confidence because you are close with the Lord. You were greatly burdened during your life and you know what we are going through now. We offer our prayers for relief, please hear and bring our intentions to the Lord. (Mention your intentions here…) St. Rita, steadfast in faith. Pray for us. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Read more at: www.praymorenovenas.com/st-rita-novena-2/780460
I hope St.Rita answers your request! One time l travelled to Dublin especially to celebrate her feast and the priest mentioned the blessed rose petals. Later l wrote and asked for some and when they arrived in the post I was as happy as if he had sent me gold coins!

Day 141 contd ... 3. @ 07:04 'God made up for my lack of graciousness'. RFLT - This observation embedded in the 'Last Judgment' is catchy. God who made us is after us to save too. Adamant stubborn ones cannot be tolerated. They do not want the purging in the Purgatory too. The ego, the pride do not allow them to rectify. But the humble who remaining sinners, still hang on to the fine delicate thread of God's mercy. Such welcome their own cleansing in the purgatory. God's graciousness at work. The condescending Jesus who is not only the judge continue to remain the merciful saviour. Stoops down to clean our feet, to qualify us to enter into the eternal celebration. We only wish to cooperate with his saving plan, his graciousness. Let humility reign in us till our point of death. Particular and Last Judgments is His look out. Humility is in want. Fear of the Lord shall be abounding. Help us confess now than later, so that the cleansing work becomes less cumbersome for the GRACIOUS Jesus after our death. Today, being the First Friday of the month, meet Him at the Confessional. HelpUsConfessOhLord
Day 141 contd ...4.@ 15:09 ' He wants us to actually choose where we belong' RFLT - Terrific. His love is incredible. Risking to loose in the bargain God creates us. And he watches over. Deputes HIS angel as the guardian angel for each of us, the Catholics. Mostly not aware of what is happening around, we fall short of all his designs as the child of God, his own adopted brother and sister. The point is we are not aware of WHERE WE BELONG. It reminds of the story we tell in the catechism class, in preparation for the blessed sacrament of salvation. The offspring of an eagle, say the eaglet, happens to be brought up in a chicken barn. An ornithologist to save the eaglet, takes to her home, trains to fly into the air. Murmurs in the eaglet's ear. "You shall not spend life with chicks picking worms from the ground, fly into the sky, you BELONG to the sky'. After several attempts, from a hill top, the eaglet zooms into the sky, never to return. Sure the eaglet remembers her chicken friends, but it is designed to live in the sky. So there it thrives. Until and unless, an ornithologist, Jesus, find us out, pick us out, train us, and we COOPERATE, we cannot enter into the place where we belong. Of course we are designed as spiritual beings. But unless we are are conversant with the spiritual world, at least conversing with our dear GUARDIAN angel , we will find it extremely difficult to move about in the spiritual realm. We turn to be misfits. But for the unfathomable mercy of our trainer, ornithologist, Jesus. Help us Lord to identify our realm. the heaven in this world. The foretaste of heaven is the Church. Help us to be with the Church as its proud members. We discern that we belong to it. We cannot afford to wait for the Last Judgment Day !!! WeLongForYouOhLord

I want to remember to have a Holy Fear of The Lord! It's easy to forget, so may He find me with full hands and heart. God Bless. Claire.
Amen.
What an amazing teaching Fr. Mike. Thank you!
God bless and keep us.❤
Amen.
Praise to you God and Jesus Christ🙏❤🕊😇
TBH, I've been a little nervous about the topics we've been discussing the last day or so. I understand that we're all going to die at some point, but it's the fear of the unknown factors afterwards that has me worked up. Please pray for me.
Trust in the Lord, Elizabeth. God bless you. ❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Thank you for this lesson on the fear of the Lord. I can now better explain this to my students.
Prayers for all those following/participating in BIY & CIY 🙏🏻🕊✝️🕊🙏🏻
Thank you amen ❤
Fr. Thank you 😇. Praying for you and for all my CIY brothers and sisters. God bless.

Day 141 - the Last Judgement
The Last Judgement will reveal even to it's farthest consequences the good each person has done or failed to do during his early life
The decisions that I make now can affect ppl for generations 😮
*The good I do today has consequences far beyond today and the sin I do today has consequences far beyond today*
There is no such thing as private virtue and no such thing as private sin.
God bless you @Mia Chambers. Deep explanation on day 141. 🙏🏻♥️
Thank you Fr Mike; Good night; happy dreams.

Thank you, Father Mike, for all you do for us: your TH-cam flock.
TH-cam flock - I love that 😊🙏🏻❤
Day late and dollar short but you are amazing Father Mike you are always ready thanks be to God for you

Please pray for Souls in Purgatory. Go ahead, just take about 30 seconds to help save a soul that maybe is your family member or friend! Go forth and help save! Here is the prayer:
(According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory.)
The Prayer of St. Gertrude
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.
Thank you Father.

My favorite, ❤ 😍🤩 day 141 so far! Superb job explaining ! 😚
I like to replace the word fear, with respect. Kind of like how kids can fear/respect their parents when being disciplined.
And the gift goes on; the Fr Above; gave the Son.
Thanks for sharing from the 💖!
Thanks!
St Augustine recounts how this physician told him that when young, he began to doubt whether the soul, separated from the body, can see, hear, or understand anything.
One day, while in this error, he fell asleep. Suddenly, a handsome young man appeared to him in his sleep and said: “Follow me.”
The physician did so and his guide led him into a large and spacious field where, on one side he showed him incomparable beauties and on the other allowed him to hear a concert of delightful music.
“Where are your eyes?” “My eyes,” he replied, “are in my body.” “And where is your body?”
“My body is lying in my bed.”
“And are your eyes open or closed?”
“They are closed.”
“If they are closed, they can see nothing. Admit, then, since you see me even with your eyes closed, recognise me distinctly and have heard the music, even though your senses slept, that the functions of the mind do not depend on the corporal senses and that the soul, even when separated from the body, can nevertheless see, hear, consider and understand. ”
Then the sacred dream ended and the youth left the physician, who never after doubted this truth.” -
St Augustine thank you for knocking, seeking and asking AND sharing it unabashedly with us. I ask your intercession for all of the CIY community for we, too, are knocking, seeking and asking through Christ Our Risen Lord. Amen ❤️🙏❤️

Day 9 Novena to St. Rita - Saint of the Impossible
Prayer intentions: we will coordinate a Consecration to Jesus through Mary for the CIY online community, we will be steadfast in completing it, we will all grow in holiness.
(Mention your intentions here…)
St. Rita, steadfast in faith. Pray for us.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Day141. 🙏🙏🙏
